Freakshow / All Kinds of Stuff previews

Buecher.de has posted some brief samples of Freakshow / All Kinds of Stuff.
(Thanks Mark)

Update: I can't believe I'm saying this, but I love Freakshow! And AKOS is pretty damn good too.

  1. Yes! Thanks for posting this.

Just listened to these at work. Can't help it. They're very short so it's still hard to judge, but I'd say I really like the sound of Freakshow. I do believe the studio version is better than live. But I can't say anything about All Kinds of Stuff yet – it's over before I figured out what's going on! I'll just say that it sounds like a good song, too. Seems upbeat and crazy.

Anyway, we'll find out in a few days. I'm really excited again.

  2. They sound weird! I haven't figured out if that's good or bad yet - Porl's guitar on Freakshow is very funky though.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Sure, they are only short snippets and maybe it is because I had low expectations for this song - but I have to be honest, I think it sounds pretty good. Roll on the 13th!

    ReplyDelete
  4. Think they both sound terrible.

Freakshow sounding worse than it does live.

Really had enough of this rock n roll, or funky, guitar sound..

    ReplyDelete
  5. Impossible to judge yet but different..and by definition different is good...Looking forward to it!

    ReplyDelete
  6. If a 30 second teaser is any indication, they have already left off two good tracks from the album. All Kinds of Stuff sounds promising...

    ReplyDelete
  7. Too little to judge on AKOS, but I think Freakshow is going to turn out ok. Maybe the Wendytime of this album?

    ReplyDelete
  8. I have just decided that the 30 second clip of All Kinds of Stuff is already worlds more interesting than all but four tracks from WMS.

    ReplyDelete
  9. the Wendytime of this album?

Err, Wendy Time was pretty fantastic until they added the funky syncopated beat, so I'm not what this is saying for Freakshow...

    ReplyDelete
  10. They sound somewhat weird, and I'm fond of weird things very much.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Is it just me or does All kinds of stuff somehow sound similar to Baby Rag Dog Book? At least the guitar are very rock, reminds me of Give me it too in some way. I think I like it.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Too short, too short! What a tease =(

    ReplyDelete
  13. Really reminds me of Man Inside My Mouth.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Sounds interesting. Thanks for posting the links craig. I do like Freakshow & the studio version is a bit better than what I've heard live so far.

All Kinds of Stuff well with that 30 second snippet it almost impossible to say if I like it at this point. Sounds quit chaotic!

    ReplyDelete
  15. 'Freakshow' sounds like 'A Man Inside My Mouth'. I like it...

    ReplyDelete
  16. "Man Inside My Mouth" comparison thirded

    ReplyDelete
  17. Ick. Not digging all this funky loud guitar stuff. The guitars sound noisy and the lyrics/singing sound hurried and disjointed. Bring on the 3rd single!

  20. lyrics/hurried...lol.. RS only postponed the tour for 9 months in order to write those:)

    ReplyDelete
  21. I can't listen to it here at work, it's blocked..... so i had my wife call me and play it over the phone for me. Even over the phone it sounds real fun! Can't wait to get the single. I'm sure all the Cure fans who ONLY enjoy their dark sound will hate it but i must say i do certainly like what i hear. Maybe you dark people should learn to branch out a little bit and enjoy something different.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Peter and Paul (is a Mary going to complain soon?), why do you think that the single is bad? All that you've listened to were 30 second snippets.

Regarding song comparisons, I wasn't going to say A Man Inside My Mouth for Freakshow, but The Head on the Door definitely sprang to mind, and really, it doesn't sound that bad. As for All Kinds of Stuff, that clip is way too short for me to make any kind of determination whatsoever. Well, my copy of the single will be showing up soon enough, so I can figure it out then.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Hey Corrosive, just an update - I copied the music and should have in the mail this week!

    ReplyDelete
  24. allkindsofstuffwoohoo..lets get drunk

    ReplyDelete
  25. wow, the freakshow thing sounds better studio-wise, although i have liked the live versions. i don't think i will ever LOVE this song but it's funky and different and definitely kick's Wendy Time's ugly ass out the do'!

of course, it's just a 30 minute clip.

the other song sounds like a mess.

    ReplyDelete
  26. er, make that 30 SECOND clip- the cure might do epics but none have ever lasted THAT long! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  27. Like most of the other new tracks, they sound energetic and irregular. R.S. is experimenting vocally again. Just listen to the vocal melodies on these (especially AKOS) and NY Trip. So different from the last two albums, where he seemed to be pacing ever narrowing circles.

Hard to say how these will wear over time, but honestly this album appears to be one that was worth making, at least.

That sounds like restrained praise but probably I'm just being a bit cautious.

    ReplyDelete
  28. One of my favorite things about The Cure from Japanese Whispers through Disintegration was how weird and playful they were.

Now that I'm thinking about it, WMS had some weirdness, but mostly in the sense that "it's weird that R.S. is singing this kind of song" (the 13th, This is a Lie, etc).

So it definitely feels like they're back to that crazy restless defiant weirdness, which is great.

People are registering their yays and nays, but keep in mind how many weird ass songs are in some of the old albums. Not every song is going to be a "definitive Cure ballad." In fact, we had an album comprised entirely of that kind of song in 2000. That off-kilter-ness disappeared in the 90s, certainly by the end of the decade. Now it's back!

    (Less cautious.)

    ReplyDelete
  29. I'm no great lover of the Freakshow thing, but it sounds decent in the studio. It's definitely something I'll have to get into slowly. Very slowly.

And I couldn't tell enough from the thirty-second clip of All Kinds of Stuff to give any opinion.

Though I do sort of lean towards disliking the guitar sound on both.

    ReplyDelete
  30. i was hoping all kinds of stuff would be a bit dreamier sounding. :/

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hey, I like the sounds of both of these songs! The snippet of studio-"Freakshow" sounds exactly like I hoped it would based on what I've heard live - I'd love to see a fun and wacky video to accompany it. :) "All Kinds of Stuff" sounded cool to me, too. A bit hard - the bassline kinda reminiscent of "A Japanese Dream" (maybe)?

No, it's not lush, dreamy Cure, but it's fun and hard Cure. What, you didn't think Robert was going to make Porl put down his guitar and play keyboards on the album, did you? ;)

    ReplyDelete
  32. Looks like I'm in the minority here, but this is what I was really hoping for from The Cure this time round... Edge, rock, weirdness... This is far superior to The Only One. Really glad there's a distinctive rocking guitar riff coming out in Freakshow.

Still think Sleep When I'm Dead is the most exciting of all the new stuff though, as long as it's at the Boston tempo!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I love both samples. As I've said a few times now, this is shaping up to be the best Cure album since Wish!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Sunflies, I'm totally with you. Edge, rock, weirdness. More importantly, vitality, momentum. Really new songs, not warmed over self-tribute!

It kind of sounds like how the last album should have been.

Bloodflowers was this super obsessive, controlled thing, often self-conscious and backwards-looking, but solidly made. The Cure was a break from that, an attempt to get reinvigorated as a rock band, reclaim some spontaneity. Unfortunately, it was a mess – uninspired songwriting, bad production and a leaden band dynamic. I mean they were very tight, but almost too tight. R.S. started screaming a lot and losing his voice.

This time out, they are a nimble four-piece, Porl has brought new dynamism, and R.S.'s vocals are just as boisterous but more nuanced. But the arrangements are still simple, like on the last album; they sound like a band, rather than an endless recording session with layer after layer meticulously added.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Well, I've finally been able to listen to the samples, and right now I'm in the YAY camp. I like the sound of Freakshow so far, always had a hard time discerning the individual sounds in shows, but this is crystal clear to me, and certainly unique.

    ReplyDelete
  36. i could't get a sense of anything from these clips. not. one. thing.
so i will remain hopeful until i am not.

    ReplyDelete
  37. and i also suppose...from the title (which means bugger all)...that 'all kinds of stuff' would be similar to doing the unstuck?

    ReplyDelete
  38. It seems to me that all of the complainers must not be true Cure fans. if Bananafishbones or the caterpillar, or shiver and shake came out today, you would dislike them, this style totally reminds me of why The Cure is The Cure. They can go from an album of downbeat sorrow(Disintegration) and come around with rockin funkiness(Wish) both awesome albums. I have never been more excited about a new album as much as this one(or two)and I have been listening since Japanese whispers.I think these are great Head on the Door, KMKMKM, Wish sounding songs. I can't wait.

    ReplyDelete
  39. "It seems to me that all of the complainers must not be true Cure fans."

okay. thats enough of that. we are over the "not true cure fans because you don't like the same song i like" business.
    seriously.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I really like them. Freakshow has grown on me a lot and the studio version is much tighter and clearer.

    ReplyDelete
  41. ok, I was only saying that there is not that much difference in these and the old stuff that people like, some of the comments are from people who would complain about anything, just because it's new and they didn't listen to it when they were in high school.

    ReplyDelete
  42. pure, unadulterated dross, no matter how you try to justify it.

    ReplyDelete
  43. "It seems to me that all of the complainers must not be true Cure fans." What a ridiculous generalization! Are we not entitled to have an opinion on the matter?

    ReplyDelete
  44. I really want to like Freakshow. I really, really do. It grew on me a bit the more I heard it at the shows, but now that I can hear it clearly (albeit from a very brief sample), it's every bit as awful as I suspected.

True, it does kind of recall some of the fun, funky b-sides of the mid-'80s, but oh my god, the guitar. THE GUITAR! I just really can't stand it.

I'm really hoping that it will sound much better and make much more sense when my CD arrives and I can listen to the song all the way through.

As for All Kinds of Stuff, it really is hard to get a sense of what it's about from the sample. It doesn't sound like the greatest thing ever, but it's certainly not as offensive as Track 1. So I'm a little more optimistic about the b-side.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I agree with you jkessler. People are entitled to their opinions and I'm cool with that but these songs sound 100% Cure to me.

How can anybody call these songs terrible when they sound like they were cut straight out of Wish.

    ReplyDelete
  46. sorry, i did forget about carnage visors... maybe because for me it's rather forgettable? ;-)

also, is it really 30 mins or more? i wouldn't really know, as i feel asleep each time i have listened to it.

    great snooze-inducer, though!

as for the "complainer" comment - it's bullshit that someone who doesn't like a cure song or songs is deemed not a true fan. i can't imagine someone even THINKING that. sure, if someone doesn't like MANY cure songs perhaps they are not a fan, but then, they are a fan of the songs they DO like, eh?

that said, i agree that it's fun and funky weirdness, and for that i applaud the cure. bring on more toppy freak-grooves!

    ReplyDelete
  47. andrew, I don't think they sound THAT much like Wish, and for that I am grateful. I like Wish and everything, but we do not need a rehash of that album. We need The Cure being innovative and fun, updating their classic sound but not rehashing it. Which is why I don't like The Only One very much, although truly it's great live.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I did not intend to offend, but since audio clips of these songs came out, the same people say how they think it's shit , the Cure have lost it, etc....,but when the album comes out, you know they are gonna grab it. It is almost the same as when the new Star Wars movies came out , People hated them, But if those came out in 1977, we would have thought they were the coolest thing, we have become jaded. that is all.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Clockwise, Carnage Visors is 27 minutes and 26 seconds long, so that's awfully close to the half hour mark.

    ReplyDelete
  50. CuRE fans..a hard bunch to please..and let's keep it that way!How boring would it be if all of us "bought" what's being released..Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but listening to both "Alt.end" and "Taking off" on my Ipod back from work on the Tube(London-Hot), one has to admit to a sense of "GETTING MY BAND BACK"...Goodbye 2004 and Mr Robinson, here's to 2008 and The Cure Rock!(live and in the studio)...look forward to discriminating post(s)!

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  52. I meant listening to the new tracks by "getting my band back"....

    ReplyDelete
  53. jk, you didn't offend per se, it's just that it sounds so robert-esque to say "you are not a cure fan if you don't like this." i think a true cure fan gives all new cure material many thoughtful listens and then based on his or her visceral and cerebral response, decides whether the stuff is durable or throwaway. i for one adore EVERY cure album, but certainly not every cure song. so i don't think i'm speaking out of my ass - but i have been accused of doing that, of course, but those peeps can fuck off. :-)

anyway, you didn't offend and i actually hate the vicious naysaying too. i don't mind constructive criticism, though. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  54. In all fairness I think Carnage Visors is about 26 min. long. It is great to fall asleep, true.
And it's kind of pointless to start calling some people non-belivers or infidels just because they don't like current stuff or any kind of Cure stuff at all. No-one can be all-encompassing in their tastes.

That said, it's true that some people seems eternally unsatisfied and you wonder why they keep bothering with The Cure at all.
It sometimes leads me to wonder if they would think a song like Freakshow was pure genius if it had been released at another period in time, circa The Top for instance. Would critics be less harsh or the same? It's hard to be objective on something so visceral, but still I wonder...

    ReplyDelete
  55. Thank you clockwise and andrew, someone understands, I didn't know what to think of ny trip at first, but after repeated listening, I really like it, these were immediate posts to a sample that I was referring to.

    ReplyDelete
  56. perfect murder: taking off and alt.end suck, but most of "the cure" album does not, imo. the cure never lost it, imo. but now some dork is going to come around and smack me down for that. OH WELL! i knows what i likes. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  57. I can see where you are coming from Cat.

I disagree with you about it not sounding Wishy (even Robert said it sounds like Wish) but thats no problem. No one can argue that what we have heard so far sounds much better than anything they have produced in many a moon.

However, I just think I'm appreciating the band leaning back towards Wish era more because I feel like the sound the band carried had much more momentum and creativity, which hasn't been touched upon again until now. I felt they could have gone on further with the Wish sound rather than the OTT desperate pop of WMS or the repetetive acoustic sound of BF.

So its a welcome return to The Cure of 1992 for me!! Lets no loose our underwear over this :)

    ReplyDelete
  58. hyren: i agree totally. i think you are capturing what jk was **trying** to say. not that you said it badly, jk, just a little clumsily.

i think the prob is that the cure cannot TOTALLY reinvent themselves, only update their signature sound. the cure are a solid band, but by no means amazingly pioneering - except maybe for 17/Faith/Porno and the early post-punk stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  59. andrew, i adore wms and bf. :-)

gotta catch my plane outta houstoned!

    ReplyDelete
  60. I love WMS and about half of BF but it was no where near ground breaking stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  61. need to hear the full versions to make a proper comment - but hopefully they'll grow on me as 'the only one' has done.

i also think thers's a bit of 'give me it' and 'a man inside my mouth'

    ReplyDelete
  62. spot on andrew...

    ReplyDelete
  63. I know I'm veering off subject for a bit but I must say, a new Cure song, good or bad, is always a good drug for me.
When I'll get that Freakshow single I'll be high for 7 days straight minimum.
I know The Cure is not always original but I need my fix!! 4 years between albums is a long wait.

    ReplyDelete
  64. ...been listening to 'show' a lot recently and love the way robert and porl play together. like andrew i always thought they could have taken this sound further. can't wait for the album now. that was the longest 16 years of my life...

    p.s. can't stop doing this...

    ReplyDelete
  65. i wouldn't say that someone who didn't like some cure songs wasn't a true fan but i will however say that someone who only likes the faith and pornography albums and that's it is not as BIG of a fan as others who enjoy all the different things they do.

    ReplyDelete
  66. There are fans of a particular era, or particular eras, and there are fans of all eras. That is all that is.

Digging Freakshow right now; not in love with it, but I groove along. I still don't know what to make of All Kinds of Stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I lovee all of The Cure's Eras! Each is different with some more poppier, some more dark but overall I really love most of what they did with an an exception of a few songs here & there. We are all cure fans just at different levels & degrees. If everyone like/dislikes the same stuff it would be quite boring! There would be no need for a blog like this if that was the case!

    ReplyDelete
  68. yes true, but i don't understand why fans of an old era keep coming here to constantly bitch about the cure when they haven't liked anything they've done in twenty years. Why listen keep up with a band if you hate 90 percent of their music.

    ReplyDelete
  69. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Yes I have to agree, it kind of sucks to read negative posts from fans who want The Cure to be like they were in the beginning. That period of time was great for the music but it will never be like that again.

    ReplyDelete
  71. It sometimes feels that people don't want to band to progress and just keep on trying to remake disintegration.

    ReplyDelete
  72. and of course disintegration and all those old albums are aweseom, my favorites even... but no point visiting chain of flowers and getting all the updates if you hate their music now. I used to love the Offspring and Silverchair when i was younger (i still love their old stuff), but now that they blow goats i don't listen to their new stuff and i don't visit fan sites to talk about how shitty every new song is that comes out. it's fucking retarded.... okay that's my vent for the day. i'm done

    ReplyDelete
  73. I know it's very easy to get defensive about a band you love, but that doesn't magically give you the ability to read someone's mind when they say they don't like a particular track.

I'd love it if I could state my honest opinion about the new material without people speculating on my motives for disliking something.

I'm not a real fan, I'm stuck in the eighties, I'm not giving it a chance, I'm a robotic naysayer, blah blah blah...

Can we all just accept that we all like different things? Personally, I think Bloodflowers is dreadful. Worst Cure album ever. But I know that others love it, and I'm interested to hear why. Conversely, I adore The Top, but I know it's not everyone's favorite. Again, I love to hear what people think of it either way.

I think it's safe to say we're all participating on this site because we're all huge fans of The Cure. There's no need for any of this I'm-a-bigger-fan-than-you-are stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  74. all i heard was blah blah blah i'm a dirty tramp!

    ReplyDelete
  75. i am SO excited about this album! NY Trip is fantastic and freakshow is leaps and bounds better as a studio song. i can't wait to get it when i tcomes out. hope the ole record store gets a copy in. that had the only one...

but anyways i definately like it. love the upbeat. The Cure is definately overdue for some funk. and this is great. : )

p.s. i've been phoning in to a local Charlottesville, VA radio atation requesting the only one and they said it's been requested a whole lot. i've heard it at least 3 times just randomly. Then the DJ asked me if i knew about the singles plan up untill the album and i told him i did. he sounded really psyched about it so i think their singles plan will work well for radio play.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Im with Believer KO. The Cure have needed a funk injection for some time.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Now the only thing that's missing is for good ol' Bob to shave his head, wear sunglasses and start dancing on his knees again!

    ReplyDelete
  78. Oh no! no, no, no, no,I don't need to see that

    ReplyDelete

  80. I love Freakshow! It's so off-the-wall. I love the song, and how Robert dancers around when performing it.

  82. I am actually TRULY digging Freakshow now. I have listened to the snippet quite a few times and also listened to a live version on my iTunes on the plane. It's a very funky, Toppy, WMSy song. I know that some people hate the Top and even more hate WMS, but I for one love BOTH very very much and am STOKED that they are groovin' this funky-ass Freakshow.

I went from sorta liking to loving it. Quite a leap! I really hope to see this live. I was hoping to see it live last nite, but no go. I am sure I will see it at one of my remaining three shows.

PS The vid for Freakshow from MTV Gold is great, if you haven't seen it.

PPS I LOVE that Craig is diggin all the new tunes. Makes me so happy for HIM that he's got the Cure groove back.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Freakshow sounds like the B-52s. Um, I think that's a bad thing. I keep expecting to hear Fred Schneider enter with "If you see a faded sign at the side of the road that says 15 miles to the... "

    ReplyDelete
  84. B-52s are mostly awesome, imo - at least their early early stuff, and some later stuff. not that i'm an expert. anyway, don't see how b-52s is a bad thing to sound like, per se, but i don't hear the comparison anyway. oh well. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  85. Seems Bob goes back into whacky-defiant mode instead of writing a decent song.

Freakshow - truly god-awful lazy crap, based on this clip.

    Ah well, good memories....

    ReplyDelete
  86. Not only that, it's a series of vocal tics and tricks, all well worn and safe really when you come to think of it...

Come on Bob. I didn't sit on the side of the stage when you first toured Killing AN Arab\10.15 etc for nothing...

It's not about being older and disgruntled\disillusioned, either...it just seems a really bad song amongst other mediocre new songs.

    Say it aint so....

    ReplyDelete
  87. Wouldn't it be funny if Robert came out and said 13 is the 3rd part of the next Trilogy:

    KMKMKM / Wish / 13

    ??

    ReplyDelete
  88. Falstaff, Would you consider Freakshow worse than Screw?

    ReplyDelete
  89. I got the single today and both songs sound great. Sounds like the Cure of the late 80's early 90's

    ReplyDelete
  90. Harkens back to when they would experiment with music (JW, The Top). Hello....Love Cat's? Bananafishbones? I wouldn't be surprised if this was dug up from that era.

I really wanted to hate Freakshow ... but I don't

    ReplyDelete
  91. The Top is a great album. The first one I bought and the one that sucked me into the Cure

    ReplyDelete
  92. I love The Top too! Such an underrated Cure Album!

I keep listening to the live versions of Freakshow & I'm really digging it now too. Should have my copy by the end of the week.

    ReplyDelete
  93. The Top is among my top 5 cure albums, but I can say I truly love them all.
IMO The Top was the last innovative Cure album. After that they perfected their sound and expanded on things they'd done before.
I am just happy to see they are still around and excited to make music. At least, Robert is not saying this will be last thing The Cure will ever do:)

    ReplyDelete
  94. The Top is awesome, but IMO the last truly experimental album was WMS. It gets dismissed a lot because of the overwhelmingly pop style of the songs, but you can't deny that it was adventurous in spirit. I mean, it's so ecclectic: The hard rock of Want and Trap, the mariachi of the 13th, the lush balladry of Jupiter Crash and Bare, the funkiness of Gone and Strange Attraction... so many styles! Whether or not you like the styles is another matter, but it's quite the experimental album.

    ReplyDelete
  95. I hated the Top when I first got into The Cure (circa Disintegration). I've since grown to love it. May well be the same with these new tracks.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Cat - I like WMS. I don't want to be stoned here, but I think I like it better than KMKMKM!
I remember when it came out, the Brazilian critics called it pure rubbish. So unfair!

    ReplyDelete
  97. Although I haven't heard the album version yet, I had a feeling "Freakshow" would could be good; maybe a bit like "Hot Hot Hot", you know?

I thought this and "The Only One" came off the best live. I wasn't too hot on "The Perfect Boy", but I'm sure it will sound a lot better on the album; I just hope it doesn't sound like "Return" or some other WMS acoustic take.

    ReplyDelete
  98. The samples are to short to make a prediction, I prefer wait for the complete songs

    ReplyDelete
  99. both are now available on iTunes (USA)

    ReplyDelete
  100. Holy shit I'm listening to Freakshow now, got it off iTunes.

It's awesome!! I totally love it. Hilarious song.

If you've only heard the clip off that site, withhold judgment until you hear the real thing.

    ReplyDelete
  101. trace: I love it too. LOVE IT! and AKOS kills too.

i'm telling you peeps, the cure ain't ever made a bad record. i know that there are vicious naysayers but it's true! they have made bad SONGS but many more good songs and each album is different and i just LOVE them.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Well, in my book this album is already looking like a huge comeback.

All the positive reviews of "The Cure" said it showed the band reinvigorated. Probably that was in a press kit and it became "the narrative."

    This time, it's actually true.

I am totally on board for the new album now. I was skeptical but they are alive. It is damn cool.

    ReplyDelete
  103. trace, I love the self-titled, but i am thinking i will love this one more. the only thing that concerns me: uts and freakshow on the same album seems a bit disjointed to me.

  104. The clips we heard this morning are all muddy.

The iTunes files are bright as hell. I really like the production on these tracks.

  105. clockwise: Hmm, I heard what you are saying. I suppose we'll have to wait for all the songs and the track listing to see if it makes sense. KMx3 has Hot Hot Hot, Icing Sugar and One More Time, and it's ... coherent? Well, it's "a good album."

  106. trace, i hear ya... i too thought of km and of wms. i know everyone hates the latter but what the fuck ever. wms worked brilliantly in my ears and it is wildly ecclectic. but uts is really dynamic and multi-dimensional and freakshow is so funky.. it's just kind of wild to imagine them on the same album. but i don't care if the album sounds disjointed as long as the songs are good!

  107. jkessler...you'd have to be going some to beat Screw...but it's a close run thing...at least Screw doesn't try to anything other than an ugly yelp. It all seems to be begging for some daylight....or just some...dignity....it's all got the ring of a tinny, sealed capsule.

  108. wait clockwise... did you say Freak Show has a music video? do you have a link?

  109. oh never mind.... you were talkin about a live video weren't you

  110. I'm probably a little late in commenting, but I was a little cautious about Freakshow after hearing the live version(s) and not being too excited about it, but the studio version sounds like it'll be really funky and fun! I don't know why so many people are complaining about the guitar part...that's one of the best things about this song.

This new album has potential written all over it.

  111. If these 2 samples are anything to go by, I´d say that these songs seem too middle-of-the-road and unremarkable to deserve a place in The Cure catalogue.
