i guess this is the universe's way of telling me to get up off my ass and do some work around the house!! ive been on the computer for 3 days straight!
I hope you get the treats before the end of the tour (not that we won't be keeping in touch afterward) but more that I think it would be cool if we could both be blogging on the MSG show while eating TimTams.
Ooops.. forgot to say the wedding was nice, but it was a cocktail party, so we were standing for more than 4 hours. Funny, I stood much longer for the Cure in Adelaide, but yesterday was hard work. Bride looked beautiful, and the groom very much in love - but boy have they got a long ride ahead, his daughter (from previous marriage) sobbed her heart out through the service (and not for good reasons). Poor soul.
wedding situation sounded interesting - how old was the daughter that was bawling? the probably do have a long road ahead...wow. i was 14 when my mom married my stepdad - i was not happy either - but cried with my best friend in the bathroom afterward. i dont cry in public - except when robert smith grabs my hand! :D then fuck it!
Hi Chris - the daughter is 13. It's not that she doesn't like her new stepmum, she just doesn't want ANYONE else with her parents. Very hard on my friend.
v - I know - and there is nothing you can do or say to help as every one within it has the right to feel the way they are feeling. Not easy to find a compromise. On the upside, the younger daughter really likes my friend, so at least she feels kind of accepted.
yeah thats hard. like you said - nothing anyone can do/say really. just will take time. they will just have to be really tight as parents in dealing with the older one. must be unified. or else the kid will play them against each other. i know - i pulled this shit.
Yes it is a quite night! Been trying to catch up on the topics I missed while I was away this week. Lots of blogging!
I was wondering too when all the shows are over will there be less stuff to post too. Well we still have the other 2 singles & the album release. I just realized I'll be on vacation at the beach when it comes out. I'll have to take my laptop & post from the beach.
elsie-looks like you had a nice time at the wedding but standing would be too much. At least at a cure show you have the band to keep you mind off of that. Too bad your friends daughter is upset but hopefully in time she'll be OK.
CK - I think a few of us are concerned how we are going to cope with the inevitable post-tour lull. That's why the Facebook and Myspace groups are so important.
Hopefully, we will still meet here in CoFland, but just in case, at least we can keep in touch in other ways.
elise---That's why I joined both groups. I know I'm quite new posting on the COF but I'd hate to not to have a place to get to know the peeps on here when news is few & far between tours. I hope they do something next year!!!
elise---Keep sending out the good vibes! I'll keep my finger crossed!
And if there is no tour, a COF gathering would be cool. I'd love to go! I hope something can be planned. I've helped organize an event like this for another band I'm into and the fans who came had a great time. I know a COF gathering would be so cool.
I gotta say, looking at some of these youtube clips, I really lucked out with great seats in Montreal and Toronto. Especially for Montreal, I had a bloody great view! When the bellweather fans left out of boredom, I had an even better view! I had better appreciate what I got. Some of those seats near the back suck!
CK - Haven't decided where to go yet, it will definitely depend on whether there is a tour. Fantac has suggested that I should go back to Quebec to visit with him. We have never been into the southern states, so we may head there. I'd really like to go to New Orleans - with the added bonus of perhaps meeting Craig. Where are you?
Elise: Wow, you would be quite privileged if you actually got to meet the elusive Craig. That is, provided he is real. His existence was brought into question just yesterday when JPX called him a god... ;)
elise---Never been to Quebec but I heard it's nice. Southern states are good to visit too. New Orleans, Atlanta, Nashville, Charlotte are cool & so are the cities in Florida. Lots of things to see & visit. You'll have fun wherever you decide to go!
I live in Philadelphia, PA. East Coast Mid-Atlantic region, about 150 miles below NYC. And The Cure almost always stop by for a show here when they tour the states. Plenty of Cool Cure Fans in Philly!
Muldfeld--I has happy with my seats too. Philly I had 1st level but very close to the stage Si side & Chicago I was on the floor dead center 15th row! Had a real tall gut in front of me but for half the show he was not there so I had a decent view. Not super close but close enough. Glad you were happy with your seats too!
CK - Quebec is beautiful - I was there in 2004. Have never been to Philly - almost made it, but decided to leave a Coach Trip in Washington DC. The only time I have spent in Florida is in Orlando (we didn't even make it out to Cape Canaveral 'cos Hurricane Jeane came through while we were there. I did think about visiting NOLA in our last trip, but we ran out of time. The only certainty in any US trip we make is that there is always a stopover in Hawaii on the way home. We love Maui. I'll have to make sure I include Philly on the itinerary.
Elise, I was just watching the videos from Ft. Laud. The whole thing was quite excellent, in spite of the crowd who were lame at first but really picked up later. Of course, some of the songs were blah - but only because I'm a bit jaded on the same old pop songs. But when they brought out the KM encore - oh hell yes!
I am so very tired. I went to a dinner party tonite despite my lack of sleep. I wish we hadn't scheduled it for tonite.
Yay - April *sends good vibes to the universe - make the ticket real!!!*
Cat - yes, i had a wedding, but it was after the concert, so fortunately, I was able to get there on time. I'm not sure where my priorities would have lain if I had to choose between CoF and the wedding. (sometimes I am an evil person)
Cat - I'm gonna have to re-watch the vids to see if I can find ya.
I'm off out now to catch up with a girlfriend and visit my folks. It would be very easy to put them off and stay here, but I don't want to leave my old world too far behind.
Anyone hooking up for tonights show? I am hearing Loafing Leprechan is doing something. I plan to be there around 5 pm. Lets keep the good vibes going for Faith tonight!
Cat: I said "bitter", I wanted to say "old"... You know, like too old to party all night! Believe me, I understand that you have to be exhausted after all this travelling around... It's like 2004 again, right?
Pierre, when the Cure tour in the summer, it's rather dangerous for me, since I have nothing better to do. Being a teach has its rewards after all. :-)
I will see what I can do about the Leprechaun... am meeting some friends before the show.
And really, I'm not too old to party all nite... I just typically DON'T. :-)
Pierre I am planning to be there around 5 pm, old guy (that sometimes can still party all night but never two nights in a row anymore). Would love to meet and have a couple. I am meeting another friend there that is going with me. Not sure what time yet she will be there but I am there around 5pm.
Yes, call us, Cat. We're going to head up there soon but have no idea yet when the meet & greet will actually be. If nothing else, we'll see you at the show.
Any advice for us from those of you who've met them before?
It's so quiet here today! All these lonely posts with 0 comments!
ReplyDeletehi v.
ReplyDeletei guess this is the universe's way of telling me to get up off my ass and do some work around the house!! ive been on the computer for 3 days straight!
Hey Chris. I have a lot to do, too, but being an addict and all I couldn't resist stopping by. ;)
ReplyDeleteGood morning, v & Chris.
ReplyDeleteHi, Elise!!! :) No Aussie treats today. :( But I have a good feeling about Monday! How was the wedding? :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you get the treats before the end of the tour (not that we won't be keeping in touch afterward) but more that I think it would be cool if we could both be blogging on the MSG show while eating TimTams.

Elise: I would love to share some TimTams during the MSG show! :) I think they'll be here in time.
ReplyDeleteAnd I hope we will all still keep in touch when the tour is over... :(
v - we have to keep in touch 'cos we have to organise next year's US visit.
ReplyDeletehi elise!

Elise: You're right. We have to keep in touch for that. :) Have to.
ReplyDeleteHi Chris - the daughter is 13. It's not that she doesn't like her new stepmum, she just doesn't want ANYONE else with her parents.
ReplyDeleteVery hard on my friend.
Elise: That is a sad and difficult situation for everyone involved. :(
ReplyDeletev - I know - and there is nothing you can do or say to help as every one within it has the right to feel the way they are feeling. Not easy to find a compromise.

ReplyDeleteCK - I have been sending out good vibes to the universe for weeks in the hope of a tour next year.
ReplyDeleteI am planning on coming to the US again next year, and I am hoping it will be in time with a Cure tour.
If there isn't a Cure tour, then I am definitely hoping we can organise a CoF get-together.
elise---Keep sending out the good vibes! I'll keep my finger crossed!
ReplyDeleteAnd if there is no tour, a COF gathering would be cool. I'd love to go! I hope something can be planned. I've helped organize an event like this for another band I'm into and the fans who came had a great time. I know a COF gathering would be so cool.
CK - with nothing left but faith.
ReplyDeleteThis has to happen.
elise---Yes it does!
ReplyDeleteSo where are you planning to go in the states when you come next year?
I gotta say, looking at some of these youtube clips, I really lucked out with great seats in Montreal and Toronto. Especially for Montreal, I had a bloody great view! ReplyDeletev - I know what you mean, but perhaps I can prove once and for all whether he is real or truly just AI.
ReplyDeleteWhere will you be moving to? In the same area?
elise---Never been to Quebec but I heard it's nice. Southern states are good to visit too. New Orleans, Atlanta, Nashville, Charlotte are cool & so are the cities in Florida. Lots of things to see & visit. You'll have fun wherever you decide to go!

elise - and the boys always make a stop in texas! you are welcome in my home anytime!
ReplyDeleteyou're not allergic to dogs, cats, or ferrets are you? :D
Chris - ferrets?? No not allergic to anything furry.
ReplyDeleteThanks heaps for that. If you ever decide to come 'down under' you would be more than welcome at my home, too
chris - ya'll have ferrets? LOL.... I had a friend in Texas who had a ferret - it lived in our dorm room for a while! Until it got kicked out.
ReplyDeleteHi v, elise, ck. :-)
Hi Cat, you have had some amazing shows so far!! Thanks for the shout out to the CoF peeps last night :)
ReplyDeleteElise, I was just watching the videos from Ft. Laud. The whole thing was quite excellent, in spite of the crowd who were lame at first but really picked up later. Of course, some of the songs were blah - but only because I'm a bit jaded on the same old pop songs. But when they brought out the KM encore - oh hell yes!
ReplyDeleteI am so very tired. I went to a dinner party tonite despite my lack of sleep. I wish we hadn't scheduled it for tonite.
Elise, you had a wedding to attend, right?
Hi Cat! :)
ReplyDeletehey guys! I had someone just email me on a ticket for RCMH! I hope its legit! Wish me luck! I am so excited!
ReplyDeleteYay - April *sends good vibes to the universe - make the ticket real!!!*
ReplyDeleteCat - yes, i had a wedding, but it was after the concert, so fortunately, I was able to get there on time. I'm not sure where my priorities would have lain if I had to choose between CoF and the wedding. (sometimes I am an evil person)
Shouldn't you be sleeping now?
hey v!
ReplyDeleteapril, i hope you can get the tic!
elise: glad you could make the wedding.
yes, i should be asleep. :-/
i'm going right now, i swear. after i watch one more ft. laud vid.
PS you can see me bobbing around in one of the vids, but i won't say which one! i'm mortified!
Cat - I'm gonna have to re-watch the vids to see if I can find ya.
ReplyDeleteI'm off out now to catch up with a girlfriend and visit my folks. It would be very easy to put them off and stay here, but I don't want to leave my old world too far behind.
Sleep well, ya'll!
Cat, I can't believe you didn't show at our Cure preshow party... You are becoming a bitter woman...
ReplyDelete:p
Anyone hooking up for tonights show? I am hearing Loafing Leprechan is doing something. I plan to be there around 5 pm. Lets keep the good vibes going for Faith tonight!
ReplyDeleteWhy am I bitter? I had a dinner party last nite from 7pm until 12:30am. I appreciate the invite, though, Pierre.
ReplyDeleteAnd I hope you all had fun.
ReplyDeleteAnyone up for brunch here in Atlanta?
ReplyDeleteNot for Brunch, but drinks before the show!
ReplyDeleteSorry, Corrine & I will be busy meeting the band before the show. :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Good for you, ask them to play Faith!
ReplyDeleteAlso, looks like I have one ticket in Section 105 left. My group from last summer could not all make it. If anyone interested let me know.
yellow, I met Corrine in Ft. Laud. I am supposed to call her today. Would love to see you all tonite.
ReplyDeleteCat: I said "bitter", I wanted to say "old"... You know, like too old to party all night! Believe me, I understand that you have to be exhausted after all this travelling around... It's like 2004 again, right?
ReplyDeleteMay I suggest the Loafing Leprechaun for a drink before the show? It's right by the arena.

Hope to see you tonight, Cat. It's been a long time since Interpol... ;)
ReplyDeletePierre I am planning to be there around 5 pm, old guy (that sometimes can still party all night but never two nights in a row anymore). Would love to meet and have a couple. I am meeting another friend there that is going with me. Not sure what time yet she will be there but I am there around 5pm.
ReplyDeletecat - u still here? i sent you an email...
ReplyDeleteMy wife decided to go!!! So my tickets are all taken now. Looking forward to a great show! I will make sure Section 105 is up and dancing!
