  5. Just read the "review" in the New York Times on night 1 at MSG (thanks Muldfeld for pointing out the article in yesterday's comments section. I saw the link to the preview article but didn't realize there was a full blown "review"). Are you kidding me? I couldn't help but raise my eyebrows/guffaw/snicker (and sometimes all three reactions at the same time) at some of the idiotic statements made by the author. 😲 There was an unmistakable, subtle underlying tone of condescension throughout. While I don't expect the author to fawn or to "squeak with idiot fake surprise" over the band's every move, the author's general attitude towards the band was somewhat disdainful, if not downright hostile at times. Though it was far from objective, it made for an entertaining read. Especially laughable was the early attempt to characterize the band's work as a series of oxymoronic noun-adjective combos. This grotesquely inaccurate and simplistic depiction was "seriously funny" as it demonstrates that the band is "once again" "clearly misunderstood" by this "passive aggressive" author who was likely "alone in the crowd" in his way of thinking...pardon the pun(s)! 😜 😠 😜 😠
Amazing how far downhill the NYT has gone over the years...I don't read it often but it seems as if (to use the author's own words, or rather, the words of RS) the NYT has fallen down a pit and will likely stay there for awhile until it comes back up...for now it's another biased liberal rag right on par with the equally atrocious LA Times. 😱

    2. I really hope Robert hasn't come across this article. My goodness. It's like, no wonder he doesn't do (to my knowledge) interviews.

I'd love to know the inspiration behind the video backdrops for each song, did he come up with them himself or was someone hired on to pick them out?

The fixed camera bit showing them always from a distance is a bit concerning, maybe it's so we can have a closer view of the backdrop, not because they're insecure?

Either or, I've just woken up.

    3. Maybe the regular staff writers did not want to cover the story so it fell into the lap of the summer intern? Probably a Millennial with questionable musical taste... LOL. Surprised they didn't use "dulcet tones" to describe band's work. As for the backdrops I'm guessing it was a collaborative effort. Who needs fixed cameras when we can fixate on close-up images via YouTube.🔎

    5. Yes, this review is so "awful" that Reeves has posted it on his official Twitter and Facebook accounts.

  7. Lucky you will get to hit all 3...I was at night 1 and found myself jealous of night 2s set list. However it was special , this one just went so fast ...faster then any other cure show I've been lucky to attend.
