  3. Am looking forward to the show tonight and hearing this lineup again. It's a year ago that the first Reflections shows were taking place in Sydney and Robert's Happy Bithday Simon version of Three. I hope Barcelona greets you warmly for a very happy birthday to Simon. CR

  4. If anyone is still up and caught the Primavera Sound webcast yesterday just to see how it was, did you have to click a "play" button once you got to the site, or did it automatically start showing it?

I setup my recording on a timer, but I need the media to start streaming immediately. If I would need to press 'Play' then I wouldn't be able to do it. :(

    1. It was automatic yesterday, no need to press play.

  7. what time 22.10 is spain or england or germany?

    ReplyDelete

    1. 22:10 is the start time in Spain, so England would be an hour before that, I think. Check the World Time Server clock that I have on the page. It will tell you the current time at Primavera.

  17. So... I can't get the PS3 to work for the current webcast which means it will not work later. Time to hit best buy... I will have this experience to be in surround and in HD if its the last thing I do.

  18. what is all the racket playing over top of the steam? someone else is playing a guitar and singing out of key at random times. i know im not going crazy...there's some other sound being overlayed. is it some sort of youtube piracy protection thing?

    ReplyDelete

    1. No racket playing here. Can the sound come from any window you have open without noticing?

    2. seems to have gone away with the newest stream (AFROCUBISM). that was weird. i got worried! lol

    3. I'm a fan since the early eighties....but I really think Robert has to stop playing the old songs over and over.
I prefer him to write news songs in which I can drown....

      Delete
    4. I would love to hear some new songs too. Good ones if possible. But I still love the old ones. And I think they're playing them very well, so... if possible it's ok with me to see The Cure play live every year withe new songs or old songs. :)

  21. I can´t get the livestream working? Somethings wrong, try later??

  22. Pictures of You, of course! Now Reeves...

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yeah Reeves on the stage for Pictures of You

    ReplyDelete
  24. Was there really no cheering or clapping after Plainsong? It seemed awfully quiet when they finished the song.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Everywhere i went today they were playing the cure, even Sears.

    ReplyDelete
  26. WHO'S THE UGLY MAN PLAYING SECOND RED GUITAR??????????????????????????

    ReplyDelete
  27. Simon's bass is KICKING ASS at High

    ReplyDelete
  28. thanks.......guys highhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

    ReplyDelete
  29. Reeves Gabrels is David Bowie's former guitarist. He worked with Robert on a few songs a while back.

    ReplyDelete
  30. No changes from Pinkpop so far... I wonder what kind of surprises they'll pull out of the hat this time.

    ReplyDelete
  31. two beers... wow, just heard Simon's bass run just before last versus of High... very cool.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Nice vocal change up at the start of EOW.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Jason's drumming at EOW is awesome and Simon is bassing like a GOD

    ReplyDelete
  34. Robert is performing LOVESONG now as good as last week

    ReplyDelete
  35. Just an FYI, for anyone who misses part of the webcast, it appears that Primavera Sound is recording their webcasts, because there's a link to the performances from last night, all nearly nine hours of them.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I have to say, that new six-string bass from Schecter is a real success. After years of criticism, it looks like these guitars are finally coming into their own.

    ReplyDelete
  37. BEST FRIDAY AFTERNOON EVER!

    ReplyDelete
  38. The sound is really very good again. Hope to see Robert going crazy at Bananafishbones

    ReplyDelete
  39. Simon is PUSHING his bassplay into heaven...wow, what a sound

    ReplyDelete
  40. Yeah, he's the best bass player I know! At least he moves on stage! So cool.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Check out Reeves on the Fender Bass VI too. How cool is it to see that?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It's very cool, I wonder if he is borrowing it from Rob or he bought his own.

  42. Oh hey there's a new sticker on Robert's guitar today

    ReplyDelete
  43. so it'll be exactly the same setlist pretty much every night.

    ReplyDelete
  44. During the Pinkpop broadcast, that guitar only had the 2012: Citizens not Subjects sticker across the top. Now there's a Bunny Lake silhouette below it too.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Happy birthday Simon you are the best bass player in the world....hope you have a great day

    ReplyDelete
  46. Alright, does anyone know exactly who Bunny Lake is? Has that ever been discovered?

    ReplyDelete
  47. So good to hear Simon's bass back in front again, where it belongs. His sound used to get so drowned out in the Guitar Hero era.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I know, it's the same setlist, but it's so powerful and perfect...

    ReplyDelete
  49. i didn't say i minded, i'm just preparing for what i'm going to hear in ireland. so much good wish stuff makes me happy.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Hope they're going to record new songs soon in this line-up.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Reeves is going to kick the hell out of this! :)

    ReplyDelete
  57. He'd better kick the hell out of it. LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  58. He did just fine on the solo

    ReplyDelete
  59. Jason's drumming is close to perfection nowadays.

    ReplyDelete
  60. It sounds amazing - a little hesitant sounding at first, but now, wowsa!!

    ReplyDelete
  61. Robert is laughing and enjoys Reeves Guitar play

    ReplyDelete
  62. Here is hoping for loud audience keyboards..

    ReplyDelete
  63. Play for today....with or without choir

    ReplyDelete

    1. They're not really broadcasting the audience noise. You barely hear them inbetween songs as well.

  64. I can't hear Robert, audience is singing loud

    ReplyDelete
  65. That mouth gesture at the end!

    ReplyDelete
  66. A Forest. So still no changes from Pinkpop until now. Will the next song be Bananafishbones?

    ReplyDelete
  67. Everyone twitter @primavera_sound and ask them to keep The Cure on!

    ReplyDelete
  68. Come on Simon....happy birthday by Robert

    ReplyDelete
  69. Ha! "Happy Birthday to Simon. Happy Birthday to you."

    ReplyDelete
  73. what was S's sticker on his bass?

    ReplyDelete
  74. Nooooo! That appears to be the end of the webcast. :\

    ReplyDelete
  75. THAT WAS NOT 90 minutes... The Waaves are fun... stick around for them.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Ah well, it's what Hg already predicted. At least we got to see Bananafishbones on the livestream this time.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Bananafishbones was so excellent, again. I hope they play more tracks from The Top.

  79. i see a lot of people keep making the mistake of thinking that the FTEOTDGS solo is by Porl, when actually on the Wish album is played by Robert, as said by porl himself on a 1992 musician magazine (can't remember the name now. it was obviously played live by Porl at the time but it never sounded as good as the album version IMO. and now that i heard reeves Gabrels parts better, i have to say that i don't like some stuff he's doing and i didn't like his solo on FTEOTDGS at all. i like the guitars he's using tough.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I´m tottally agree

      Delete
    2. I think the problem is that FTEOTDGS is one of those songs those songs that doesn't really work live. The lead guitar is always too low in the mix, and the vocals require a specific kind of intensity that's hard to duplicate live. Same goes for Disintegration; I've yet to hear a live rendition that comes close to the brilliance of the album version.

      Delete
    3. i agree about the waqy those 2 songs are played nowadays, but in the past FTEOTDGS and Disintegration were fucking amazing and they used to make me cry. still, i'm not 17 anymore...

      Delete
    4. Boris and Porl!

      Delete
    5. "still, i'm not 17 anymore" loved it!

      Delete
    6. Even if I listen to those songs on Show and Entreat respectively... sorry, but doesn't do it for me. The album version are unmatched.

Fortunately, there are plenty of songs that become miles better when played live. Like the imminent Trust and Wrong Number.

      Delete
    7. The references we... or at least I made is regarding the "live" solo version after the middle break, which Porl has typical played. The most amazing that Ive seen live was at the Hollywood Bowl a few years back, it was incredible how the sound of his guitar bounced from left to right and then right up the middle. That, or I was incredibly high.

  81. The lame keyboard sounds at the end of PFT and AForest (from the few I watched tonight) and the murder of Trust a few days ago were enough to sack a band member 30 years ago... Sack mister nice guy Roger! Matthieu, you are forgiven...

    1. I really liked the trust solo, so there you go.

but i didnt like the abrupt play for today ending.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Oh man, The Kiss and no live stream. That's cruel.

    ReplyDelete
  88. 1984/1985 was the best Cure period.

Now it's fun to watch them, but hey...they also got old.

I think they've to stop after these festivals or record new songs. But playing old songs over and over and over is imho a commercial act.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think that the best Cure period it's differente for everyone. And it depends at what time you started to listen to them. For me it was 89-92 'cause I started to listen to The Cure when Disintegration came out and loved all Wish stuff. For someone who started to listen them with Kiss Me I bet that '87 was the best Cure period of all time. (that said... I would love to be there at 84-85)

      Delete
    2. Best Cure period was 1979-2000!!!

    3. Looks to me like they are having a lot of fun. So if it really is a commercial act, they are very good actors.

  91. I really think this is the last Cure tour for a long, long time.....

With the money they earn this year they are ' free'

    ReplyDelete
  92. Fight? i appreciate A LOT that they're playing these obscure songs, and i'll be really happy to hear them live for real, but it puzzles me as there were much better songs from the Top and KMKMKM that haven't been played live since those tours.
Robert, if you will read this: play Just One Kiss and 2 Late!!! at least once!
