  1. Woo hoo! Can't wait! Here's hoping for a Faith set, and lots of Disintegration and Pornography songs!!! I would die to see The Same Deep Water As You performed live... Never seen it live at a concert. Also, I would die and go to heaven if they played The Promise (but of course never holding my breath). So not expecting to die tonight, but you never know!!!! :) The Cure like to surprise us sometimes.

  2. This is going to be an excellent show...a night off and a city that The Cure haven't played in twenty years! Whatever set they choose is going to be epic.I can't wait! Enjoy the show everyone!

    1. The nice thing is that The Cure can literally play anything from their song catalog and I will love it all. I can count on one hand the songs I don't much care for out of their 300+-song catalogue and they never play those songs anyway... So I basically love it all, although partial to the darker stuff... Yes, it will be epic for sure. So excited.

  3. Being in Minnesota will they break out an "in tribute" Prince cover?
    Hmmm...

  4. I was thinking the same thing. Paul McCartney did this on his tour stop. I bet one dollar that we hear 'Starfish and Coffee'.

  5. Prince/Cure mashups they could do:

I Could Never Take The Place of Your Perfect Boy
    U Got The Kiss
    Baby I'm Underneath The Stars

    I'm here all week folks!

  7. I read in a previous post that there were excess tickets available for the Minneapolis (St. Paul) show, somewhat rare for a Cure concert. Maybe St. Paul isn't much of a Cure town? Probably more of a Prince town? Sorry couldn't help myself....hehe. Bad joke? In any case I'm sure the locals attending this show will no doubt shower the band with the trademark warm "Minnesota Nice" welcome. Wonder what happened to the unfortunate group whose seats got moved back when stage setup was reconfigured. I do recall RS's all caps post on this awhile back. He must've been genuinely concerned since he does not post often. Not the band's fault, but wonder why they didn't simply re-shift those seats so they were the same relative distance from stage. Who knows, hope it all worked out. As for the Prince covers, I'm partial to Little Red Corvette. Awesome song!! Especially the intro. Someone suggested Little Red (Mint) Corvette...that is too clever. Hey what about Kiss? Awful, awful song but so catchy that it sticks in your head whether you like it or not.

    1. It's not the size of the clock that matters, it's how you use your hands. :P

  13. Don't get me wrong, I know there's no perfect setlist that everybody can agree on, BUT I don't get the point of those Rock Encores: "Want", "Never Enough", "Wrong number" and "Shake dog shake" are great songs to be played live but aren't they exactly what a main set is supposed to deal with? Just skip "Alt.end" and "The end of the world" (or replace them with "Before Three", "The perfect boy", "Underneath the stars" or "Going nowhere" if it's about playing songs from the last two albums) and ... Boom ... here come the "Faith"-, "Pornography"-or "Three imaginary boys" - Encores.

  14. Anybody think there's any significance to the purple guitar being used during "If Only Tonight We Could Sleep"? Supposedly Prince had been unable to sleep for a couple of days before his death. It's either a gesture or a joke (and a good one at that).

    1. I thought about that too when I saw the purple guitar posts, I don't think it was a 'joke' more so a nod to the situation...
