    2. Will they play Friday I'm in Love? 💟
(Snicker all you want)! Friday just happened to get some airplay on my decidedly non-Cure station on Pandora...and right on the appropriate day. Can't avoid RS & Co. even on Pandora. LOL. 😏 I get the "special sense that hidden hands are pulling strings" behind the scenes at Pandora despite their claim of algorithm-driven song selections.

    3. Yeah I was fucking around. I think the idiots who mention 'safe' setlists don't get laid often enough. The Cure could play The Walk for two hours straight and I'd just be happy they were playing.

    4. I was just kidding about the snickering...was being facetious. BTW...I'm one of those above-mentioned "idiots" who'd spoken of safe setlists... HAHAHA.

  5. Hmmm sets are getting slightly shorter and safer (no bsides), and no 'new' songs last night... 'Give Me It' is great , otherwise they played it relatively safe last night

    1. The more you comment, the more ridiculous you make yourself sound. Keep it up, it's enjoyable.

    2. Ridiculous? Just an observation shared by many beyond myself. But thanks for the personal insult.

    3. I actually agree with Dr. Fishbones. As good as the band are performing it is a shame the new and rarely played material seems to be getting dropped.

If you took away Kyoto Song, Closedown and Like Cockatoos out then the above setlist is very similiar to those being played at festivals in 2012-3.

    6. How about ( A thousand hours ) Which was only performed ONCE on the second night at the LA Forum in 87...

Or ) Icing Suger ... Which has never been played.

    7. Randy, what about the comment did you find foolish? It's a solid observation. Had I seen this show knowing what other songs are being played this tour I would have been disappointed- still could have been fun given the audience energy, but that doesn't change the fact that in comparison to some of these shows, this was a heavily "radio friendly" Cure show.

But at least Burn is still holding strong.

    8. and I agree with the unknown poster- Icing Sugar would be very welcome. That one is pretty high on my wishlist

    9. Everyone is entitled to his/her opinion here as long as it's within reason. I happen to enjoy reading Dr. Fishbone's comments. I find them refreshingly authentic and sometimes informative as he seems to have been a fan for a very long time (from what gathered, almost as long as I've been alive), thereby giving him valuable perspective on the band. I just find it amusing that any slightest (perceived) slight against the band swiftly gets singled out on this forum, prompting allegations that fans who might be a bit critical are disloyal, ridiculous, etc. when that is likely not the case at all. There is a Japanese saying: "The nail that sticks out is the one that gets hammered down the fastest" and that seems to be very much the case in the comments section. Unfortunately that phrase should only apply to conformist societies like Japan and has no place in an open environment where people should be free to express opinions without fear of backlash.

  6. No "It Can Never Be The Same" or "Step Into the Light"?

    1. I had the same thoughts myself. The former is a deep song, it probably can't be delivered properly if not in the right state of mind and maybe RS was not in a somber enough mood? This song apparently has brought RS to tears and maybe he didn't want to get too emotional that night. It's been speculated the song is about his late mother, but I am not 100% positive. If true, it is an incredible feat that RS can manage to maintain his composure night after night for the most part while performing this song in front of literally thousands of screaming fans. If I were in his shoes I would be a complete emotional wreck every time it is played. Not sure about the omission of the latter song this time around.

  7. I think it's a fantastic setlist - sets that open with shake are always off previous structures

  9. It's easy to dismiss a setlist for how it looks on paper, but it doesn't show what it was like to be there, or how the band performed. My wife and I were at Ridgefield, which had a similar setlist to SLC (and a slightly more interesting setlist in my opinion), but we both enjoyed SLC even more. I would have preferred a darker setlist, but the performance, sound, and audience energy made it one of the most exhilarating shows we've ever attended. No complaints whatsoever.

    1. I was at Ridgefield, and thought it was fantastic. I was not at SLC, but it's easy to see, even on periscope , what a difference the audience can make.

    2. Audience energy can certainly make a show.

  10. I can respect peoples opinions about setlists but i personally dont find SLC setlist boring. Shoreline gig was my 47th cure show to date and i can say that i have heard the hits quite a few times. Still the last pop encore was si much fun. A huge dance party with people going crazy. And its a good thing there is songs that i dont like being played because you can take a toilet break. It was a tougher during reflections. The last NYC reflections show i had to go to toilet during drowning man.

  11. It s a setlist full of hits. They are not not the reason why i buy a ticket for a cure concert. It s simply that. If i see similar setlist in the Europe leg well i will Save some money.
