New interview with Porl, Simon and Jason
Episode 6 of Eye on Berlinale features an interview with Porl, Simon and Jason. The interview starts at the 4:28 mark, and is all about what's happening with the new album.
Here are the highlights:
Simon says they have about 27 songs and 5 instrumentals.
Porl says they have a total of about 36 songs.
Simon says that with so many songs, it's been a problem for Robert to find subject material to write about.
Jason says that there are so many different styles of songs, it has been hard to figure out what they want to do with the track list. A double cd with all of the songs or a single cd with the best songs that fit together.
Porl says they still haven't decided what to do. Thinks it would be a double, but that's not definite.
So as of Feb. 16th, the album still isn't complete.
Update: If you're wondering why Robert isn't there, he had to go to the dentist.
(Thanks Richard B.)

Cure covers
"I work with a record label that is about to release a really cool record called "A Gothic Wedding Collection." I thought you might be interested because it includes a beautiful string quartet tribute to The Cure's songs "Pictures of You" and "Just Like Heaven." I think fans would be interested in hearing about this unique CD.

Cure in Rock Band?
"A Harmonix employee, Kasson Crooker, states he would like to see Cure downloadable content in the game Rock Band in this interview [oxmonline.com]:
OXM: What downloadable content are you looking forward to, or what bands would you love to have in the game?
KC: Iʼm hoping that at some point we can get some more obscure 80s Britpop bands, like maybe like Joy Division, or Bauhaus, or The Cure. The Smiths. I mean, Johnny Marr is one of the greatest guitar players of all time and he just has a completely different style. And I would
really like to play "Boys Donʼt Cry." Some really early Cure would make me really happy."
