Note from Thistle about parking, wristbands, and lining up for GA floor - "There was parking at Brazos garage a little after 1:00. Wristbands are numbered. It was recommended to return around 5 to start lining up by number. Quite a change from the chaos of Night 1."
Also please note that we can NOT, repeat, CAN NOT bring dancing bears tonight. Bastards!
.@CraigatCoF can confirm numbered system. Just got ours - numbers 50 & 51. Staff was SUPER nice. Also got this: pic.twitter.com/WX02BmiYwt— csh (@cshobson) May 13, 2016
General admission wristbands will be distributed to customers with general admission tickets at the Red River entrance beginning at 9 a.m. the day of the show. Please note you must have your general admission ticket in hand to receive a wristband. You can only pick up your own wristband. All general admission ticket holders must enter through the Red River doors. General admission floor seating is standing room only.
If you are going to line up early, we would appreciate occasional updates on how long the GA floor line is.
As always, I'll be posting the live setlist on Twitter, connection permitting, and they should appear in the widget above. And I will get everything updated when I get home from the show.
Have fun! Hollywood seems still so faraway but in one week i will be somewhere between london and LA.

ReplyDeleteThistle! It's been years. Hope you are doing well. Enjoy tonight's show! - AndyTheCureFan
DeleteHi Andy! Congratulations on your marriage and baby! One of these days we'll cross paths at a show again :)
DeleteThank you very much. I sure hope so. Nothing but good memories the last time we saw each other.
DeleteThere is a person on Reddit asking if there are any hoodies in the merchandise. I didn't see any from the NOLA show, but just wanted to ask on their behalf.
ReplyDeleteNo hoodies the first 2 nights. Bunch of T shirts, postcards, bucket hats, tour books, bags, I think that was it.
DeleteIf I have time, I'll check again tonight.
Dancing bear?! Dammit! How am I expected to enjoy a Cure concert without one?! On a side note, what in the world is a dancing bear?
ReplyDeleteA bear that has some moves on the dance floor.
DeleteGoogling "Dancing Bear" led to some NSFW results. Proceed with caution. I wouldn't want to see a Dancing Bear at a Cure show either if THAT is what it is.
DeleteWhy do they think we are Grateful Dead fans? I think the only appropriate bears for us would be a black bear - he'd blend in.
DeleteOr a polar bear! Then they can play Birdmad Girl. ;)
DeleteHere we have the dancing bears on just like heaven at This is Dom Joly on BBC...

ReplyDeleteI haven't followed the band closely in recent years. I didn't see any posters for sale at the NOLA shows. Does the band not do show posters?
ReplyDeleteNot often. But they do have one coming up for the Sasquatch Festival. Scroll down this page and you'll see it.
DeleteAh, OK. Thanks for the reply.
DeleteI know this is the Austin show but just got email that Houston show will start 30 minutes earlier that time on ticket.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Confirmed on the venue website: http://www.houstontoyotacenter.com/events/detail/the-cure
Deletehave a great show - wonder what'll fly out Robert's sleeves tonight
ReplyDeleteThey have soundchecked Bloodflowers, I'm told
ReplyDeleteNo way
Deleteso so glad that album is present live again - it was such a great era.
DeleteWonderful, about time huh. This must be the final tour, they are pulling everthing out!
ReplyDeleteWonderful, about time huh. This must be the final tour, they are pulling everthing out!
ReplyDeleteThe Cure are not fucking around on this tour, that much is obvious.
ReplyDeleten e body be 'scoping yaanno...
ReplyDeleteI think it's obvious that Robert is lurking here and giving the fans what they want to hear. They played Same Deep Water As You for Craig and someone mentioned This Twilight Garden and other rarer songs. I think Craig wanted/posted about wishing Last Dance was played also.
ReplyDeleteNow someone said Bloodtlowers is getting no love and sure enough. Big shout out to the band. Lots of love and respect!
*cough I wish they would play an instrumental encore of "Lost Wishes" *cough
DeleteI like that idea.
DeleteAlso what about an Inbetween Days/The Exploding Boy/A Few Hours After This encore?
I like that idea.
DeleteAlso what about an Inbetween Days/The Exploding Boy/A Few Hours After This encore?
i was wishing they would play Last Dance and they did ! That's why The Cure is best band in the world.
DeleteOh man a song from bloodflowers....these setlist are making it hard to not get ticket on site and take a 9 hr bus ride to the city in June.
ReplyDeleteIn case you missed it...first 4 songs!

ReplyDeleteThank you for the Periscope links!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if they do a Wish and Pornography encore tonight? No EOTDGS yet? This setlist rules
ReplyDeleteYes, thank you for the periscope links! Not as good as being there in person but at least we still get to share some of the experience from home from miles and miles and miles and miles away from live again.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great set, BLOODFLOWERS!
ReplyDeleteNooooo. Please, stop playing 'Wrong Number'! It's a good song, but can they give it a break?
ReplyDeleteOh man THE EXPLODING BOY
ReplyDeleteMy mouth literally dropped open during the Periscope feed.
DeletePls play it again in NYC!
Delete(Or maybe chain of flowers...)
Uh yeah. Please please...
DeleteWith the setlist trends each night will be special...whether you go once or a couple or several...you're bound to get very different setlists. Incredible!

ReplyDeleteIs every set list going to be amazing this tour? Should I play mega millions??? Just added 3 more shows to my schedule...
ReplyDeleteI just hope like hell they aren't tired of playing Burn by the time my shows roll around.
ReplyDeleteWow.
ReplyDeleteAgain.
And barely any early Cure? Strange eh??
DeleteWow! Some fantastic selections. Sounds like there are still surprises to come. Excited. Looking into other potential dates. It's possible no setlist will look the same. Maybe there will be a forever or a faith or another b side. Another new one? Still hoping for Underneath. The Hollywood Bowl will be outside.... Hint, hint.
ReplyDeleteLooks like Step Into The Light is also known as The End Of Faith according to tonight's set list.
ReplyDeleteWhere can i see a pic of tonight setlist, can't find it.
DeleteI'd love some more Bloodflowers. My favourite album.
ReplyDeleteWow, three nights in, and nobody is moaning.
ReplyDeleteOh, i can if you want :)
DeleteI hope to hear also somethign serious from Wild Mood Swings (Bare), The Cure (Lost, The Promise), Dream (Underneath, Scream, It's Over). Why not!
ReplyDeleteShows sound great so far. I hope by the time they get to Chicago they are playing Siamese twins and all cats are grey. Japanese dream would be cool too.

ReplyDeleteWhy this way of singing of Robert?
ReplyDeleteNobody notices?
I think he was having problems with his ear piece. Also, why didn't he do a lot of his guitar solos? Anyone?
ReplyDeleteNot sure what was going on with that. He was throwing his arms around a few times to signal the tech, who would run in make adjustments to the amps and cables I believe. The overall F.O.H. sound seemed a bit bottom heavy (muddy). But that just might be the acoustics in the Frank Erwin Center. The band's performance itself and the rapid pace between each song was astounding. I hadn't seen them live since '96, but this was a much tighter performance. Jason's drumming was on point and up front in the mix.
ReplyDeleteSame in Houston about the muddy sound.
DeleteHmmm. Hopefully they can correct this issue on upcoming dates. It was a bit difficult to make out individual guitar parts. But still a great show.
DeleteMy post copied from the Houston thread:
DeleteI enjoyed the show. I have seen them in Houston every time since kiss me. I enjoyed the song selection as well. BUT- last night's show was the least best sounding show. Up until the later encores the sound was muddy and bottom heavy. The drum hi's were nonexistent and the guitars were buried under the keyboards. Most of the people there for the Top 40 songs in our area on the floor left early. That was OK I guess since we were on the floor.

ReplyDeleteSo happy I decided to get tickets for the second Chicago show! I'm hoping a get a good mix of the last three nights.
ReplyDeleteExploding Boy??? Wow!!!
ReplyDeleteJust downloaded the audio recording of this show from bbotorrent(dot)com. It is also available on Dime.
ReplyDeleteThanks to the uploader.
I will listen to it now.
