A late show tonight, and another 3 hour one. The Cure are scheduled to play from midnight - 03:00. In the US, that's a start time of 7pm eastern, 6pm central, 5pm mountain, 4pm pacific.

Note from Roger on Twitter: "Ok just got a report from my tech and everything sounds fine in the keyboard department. Sorry Bilbao… Tonight will be perfect I promise. For those technically minded, appears that some shielding had come off some of the cabling and interference probably from lights caused a hum. Thanks to our totally amazing crew, , Steve and Colin who is a boffin in the true sense of the word its all fixed for tonight! When I say its all fixed IT HAD BETTER BE hahahaha."

There might be a webcast/broadcast tonight from RTP, though I haven't seen any mention of The Cure being webcast. This page has apparently been broadcasting from the festival, though it has never worked for me, and looks like it might be region locked ("for rights issues, the issuance of this web program is not available")? They also say they are broadcasting on RTP1 and RTP Play. Will update when more is known.
Update from hg: "It didn't work for me yesterday, but try this other link later (their facebook). Note: yesterday on RTP they said they will show The Cure webcast.
Also, RTP Play seems to be broadcasting whatever is on RTP 1, so this might be the place to see a webcast if it happens. And checking the RTP 1 schedule does show an Optimus Alive program from 23:53 - 00:56. So maybe the first hour again?
Update: The webcast is working here. Just showed the Here We Go Magic set.
Update: I just asked Everything Is New TV if they'll webcast any of The Cure tonight. Answer: "Yes, absolutely Craig". Now confirmed by RTP, too - One hour of The Cure live webcast tonight!

  4. It seems it's being blocked outside Portugal, even these sites that offer online TVs are displaying the same message (due to copyrights etc. etc.). It might work with the use of a proxy for those that know how to set it up (good luck trying to find one from Portugal that is free and works...).

What's up with these trolls living in the past?

If anyone is having trouble with it, they say to make sure your Flash player is updated.

  6. And now... FF isn't working, error #1088 or something (same error in both browsers). Hopefully it's just a connection error... flash is updated here.

  31. Robert keeps talking about getting old and stuff in interviews...

but this Cure lineup could kick any other year's line up in the ASS! :) :) :)

    1. Yeah, I see much younger bands who don't give half the effort The Cure put into each show. And I'm talking a 70 minute set vs. 180 minute set.

Just don't do the massive, months long tours that are so draining. Play fewer shows, but make each one the best you've ever played.

    3. Agreed. The studio version of Wrong Number is only so-so, definitely not one of my favorites, but this tour has totally changed my opinion of the song.

    4. I think I'd like it more if it wasn't played at every show. Maybe switch it out with Cut or Never Enough or something similar.

  73. 50,000 attendees in Lisbon. And about 677,000 so far. I don't how the llast festivals tickets are selling but as Nyon is already sold out and Carhaix about to sold out, The Cure will have gathered about 900,000 people in 19 shows... one of the 3 biggest figures in their carreer.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Concerning the last song, after watching the video, I'm pretty sure Robert sings "another". Especially during the first verse, where he'd normally sing "at the Arab on the ground", he's clearly making an "o" sound, as in "other".

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I hear Another at the beginning, then Arab at the end. But I'm really not sure. Hard to tell with everyone singing. But pretty sure it's Another in the beginning. Which really disappoints me. :(

I donn't understand why Robert said they haven't played 10:15 Saturday Night alive in 15 years. Was that a joke? I really thought, for seconds, we would get a very rare song. :)
