  2. I think i've sort of worked out The Cure's pattern for setlists this tour. If i'm correct then we can expect a couple of european tour debuts at this show. If there are no euro debuts at this show then I wouldn't expect any until Paris or London!

  5. Disintegration almost in its entirety... well it is (according to Stan in South Park) the best album ever! :)

    1. Yeah, Basel was a little underwhelming. So wish we had this setlist ( Basel was more of a Wish evening).. Saw them in Milan in 2012, and that show blew my mind.

  8. Truely was an AMAZING gig! Robert was on good form despite being a bit croaky- still sounded fantastic and seemed in good humour. The set list was great especially as a lover of Disintegration! Off to Frankfurt tomorrow- it's going to be a tough gig to follow tonight- perhaps a seventeen seconds encore??

  9. I had a strange feeling the Disintegration bookends would resurface tonight. The time just seemed ripe. Not sure if the band uses any kind of "formula" to determine the bookends, it's probably a combo of whatever mood they happen to be in and whichever bookend hasn't been played in awhile. Someone mentioned the gloomy weather in Stuttgart, which makes it all the more fitting. The name of the arena is also fitting given the city's reputation. Looking at the Twitter feed I was excited to see Snuffybear's name, since we all know what that means ;-)
Yesterday's Twitter feed mentioned something about RS playing You Really Got Me by The Kinks at the end of FIIL. It's so ubiquitous that even if one is unfamiliar with the title or artist it's very likely that they would have heard it somewhere...admittedly it is pretty catchy. I don't know if it's the power of suggestion but the song has now been stuck in my head for the better part of the day! I've heard it so many times in random places. I think it's used quite often in commercials if I am not mistaken? Speaking of random places, earlier this week I had a Cure "sighting" at the grocery store of all places! Within the short span of about 15-20 minutes, I heard not just one, but two Cure songs: FIIL (no surprise there) and Disintegration! Talk about completely opposite ends of the emotional spectrum. I was honestly a little flabbergasted upon hearing the first strains of Disintegration blast through the speakers. I am quite certain that the latter song is not commonly played at grocery stores...Lol. In the past I've heard Lovesong, JLH, etc. at restaurants and other places, but never Disintegration. Needless to say it made a rather mundane task much more "palatable" (pardon the pun)! I was in "hog heaven." No doubt one of the staff members there was a hardcore Cure fan...maybe even a fellow COFer. Lol. It's always exciting to venture into some random place and unexpectedly be caught off guard by Cure songs playing in the background.

    1. I know what you mean. I still get excited everytime I hear a Cure song played by someone other than myself. Also when I see someone wearing a Cure shirt, I always have to approach and say something :-). We are definitely a special family.
