  1. Hmm....no scopes today? We've been spoiled by technology, to the point where we've come to expect live streams of nearly every show. I actually don't mind delaying gratification as I don't usually catch the scopes until well after they're initially broadcast. One thing I did notice is that those in attendance at the northern European shows tended to be extraordinarily generous with providing scopes/YouTube videos of entire shows (no, no, I'm not trying to imply anything about the differences between fan bases in various regions....lol). I might get
flak for even making such a suggestion? Wow, this was another fantastic show, at least on paper (screen). Strange...just yesterday it dawned on me that IOTWCS has remained dormant for some time, and now it's back on the rotation. It does have a bit of a (short term) soporific effect, it is one of those songs you have to really be in the mood to hear. Maybe it's just my imagination, but there might be a very loose slumber-oriented theme starting with Primary and ending with CS. Burn could technically fit within the theme as well, but it's usually grouped with heavier songs.

I didn't know it was Roger's birthday - hope he enjoys his special day. No special rendition of Happy Birthday from RS to RO? A few months ago, I read an article in the local paper about the controversies surrounding Happy Birthday, a song so commonplace most of us take it for granted. It appears the song's strict copyright restrictions were finally lifted after those holding the copyright claim lost the court case. The copyright holders (Warner, and possibly others) had demanded royalties from any profit-making entity performing the song. I know RS had sung Happy Birthday live in front of an audience before. The most memorable was the version from June 2008 at Shrine Auditorium. To say that this rendition was "fu----- extraordinary" is an understatement! This version moved me to tears. I think the YouTube video is still floating around somewhere. Surprised the suits didn't come after RS and demanded reimbursement of royalties! HAHAHA....Then again the band (supposedly) had ties to WMG so it would be like shooting yourself in the foot!
It's appalling to think how $$$/greed has marred the enjoyment of this short, cheerful ditty for so many generations.
Can't wait to see if someone recorded the audience version of the song in honor of RO.

    3. Piggy writes interesting, intelligent posts. I enjoy reading them, and appreciate the tidbits that may include something I didn't know before.

Piggy clearly has a gift for writing, an eye for detail, and a great passion for all things Cure in general, and Robert in particular. These are all good things!! :-)

Write on Piggy, write on!!! <3

    5. I admit that it is a little nuts. Brevity is not my forte. I do appreciate the kind thoughts.
I just can't help myself. I normally wouldn't do this kind of thing... It's become almost like an
obsession/compulsion. Might be indicative of mental instability. Haha. What started as a passing interest has morphed into a full blown obsession. I was obsessed as a teenager but this current phase has exceeded the initial one tenfold.
I must "fight this sickness and find a Cure"? On the other hand, I've always had a big mouth/loud mouth.
It's gotten me into trouble more times than I can count!
