Montreal! Tonight we're with @thecure at the Centre Bell. We're onstage at 7.30pm pic.twitter.com/y6fuoZBVMG— the twilight sad (@thetwilightsad) June 14, 2016
3 hours ahead of Los Angeles. This means I can hear them on Periscope on my drive home!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, Craig, I e-mailed you seeing if you can help a friend of mine sell her tickets and I have not received a response from you.
DeleteThey were posted in this morning's ticket update.
DeleteI appreciate it!
DeleteWelcome back to Montreal! Looking forward to the show tonight. Last time we saw them was all the way in Hawaii so will be nice to see them in Montreal. Hoping for a quirky set of rarities and some of the old school 80's Cure classics. Should be fun either way!
ReplyDeleteYou got both! :)
DeleteSure did! Fantastic show and hearing "Pornography" was absolutely amazing. Big big fan of that album so loved hearing the song live after it being in hiatus for almost 15 years.
DeleteMontreal crowd was immense, intense and having a great time! Even better than the last time they placed the Bell Centre.
So the last two times The Cure played in Montreal (2008 and 2013), they opened and closed with Plainsong and Disintegration, respectively, in the main set. Per the rotation of setlists per setlist.fm, it would seem that it's time for the band to play these exact same songs again. Wonder whether they'll change it up deliberately based on these prior shows.
ReplyDeleteOnly the Shadow knows bro!
DeleteHave fun in Montreal! Hope it's a great show. :) wish i could be there. Will be picking back up in Boston.
ReplyDeleteHere's to a better show than Toronto's! :)
ReplyDeleteI hold an image of the ashtray girl

And put our friendship to the test
Great song. Great band. Can't wait for Placebo shows 2017 :)
DeleteSold out, it seems...
ReplyDeleteWhere are you getting that from?
DeleteIt's not. The billboards at the entry said billetes encore disponible.
DeleteHi

I also was at the 2 chicago shows + toronto. Today is my last one before europe...
Hey Julie! Thanks so much for offering to help, but we have it covered now. Just enjoy your final show and have a blast!
DeleteWhy did they decided to put seats inside?? Who sits at concerts???
ReplyDeleteOld men and obedient dogs.
DeleteAnd Japanese Deep Purple fans.
DeleteWhy did they decided to put seats inside?? Who sits at concerts???
ReplyDeleteWhen they were here in '08, there were seats in the floor.
Deleteas far as I'm concerned this is going to be one of the most epic concerts of the tour I know it all the shows have been ramping up collectively but let me just tell you that you are really going to pull out all the stops for Montreal enjoy the show you lucky ducks
ReplyDeleteMontreal Scopers ...PLEASE STAND UP !!! Come on ...stop at beginning of WATCHING ME FALL
ReplyDeleteOmG... Pornography. Finally! And I'm not there. And the Periscope ended in the middle of the song...
ReplyDeleteI hope we find it on YouTube tomorrow!!!
DeleteI'm wishing I could sneak in just ONE show...!! :)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely down to the depths...
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Montreal! Sounds like is was another amazing show :) counting the hours to Boston
ReplyDeleteFirst the incredible version of The Top a few days ago and now Pornography. I am speechless. RS and company appear to be on a roll... let's hope they keep this momentum going over the next two weeks. Can't wait to see what other goodies will pop up next. Not a big fan of Periscope so I will patiently wait for the full videos for various songs to show up on YouTube or Vimeo. I read in the Twitter feed that RS remarked at one point before LDOS "We'll go down more before we go back up" - Interesting... wonder what he meant by that. It's possible he was talking about the general mood of the setlist (or maybe even the gyrations of the stock market? haha..j/k), but then again he could be referencing any number of things. Saw the photos (not video - yet)of Pornography..at the very tail end, was the background image a subtle nod to the recent tragedy in Orlando? Maybe I am just seeing things? It is way too early in the morning, lol. 😴😪
ReplyDeleteNow that I've finally had a chance to see the video for Pornography, it looks like distorted TV images in the background, but without the creepy backwards voices you hear on the original recording. The final image with the rainbow bars are probably those multicolored TV test patterns typically seen on old-school TV sets? Nothing to do with LBGT community... LOL.

ReplyDeleteHoly cow! This is a pretty great setlist, especially since I never saw the Bloodflowers tour. And they played "Want" and "2 Late" and "Dressing Up" and "Pornography" and that new song. I wish I'd gone to Montreal, but I didn't want to stay at a hotel.
ReplyDeleteI really hope the band puts out more quality DVDs (not like "2005 Festival") soon. That's the only way I can really enjoy the live versions of the songs properly.
is it just me or are these moves very similar?

I appreciate everything you have added to my knowledge base.Admiring the time and effort you put into your blog and detailed information you offer.Thanks. scientific glass
ReplyDeleteExcept for the last 2 encores, this was a pretty dark setlist. Far closer to a European show than most North American shows, it was wonderful to be there. Definitely was my favorite set list out of the three shows I was able to attend.
