  7. Wait. That means this is the first time that Simon has ever played Wailing Wall!

  8. Great set so far except for alt end. Why don't they play In Your House instead? alt end is a terrible re-write with hip hop drums.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Oh, come on...It might be that Robert likes alt.end. So, be more tolerant, please ...

  10. make that 7... head on the door tomorrow & kmkmkm on tuesday

    1. So now the question is: are these shows the trilogy shows, or are they still a rehearsal of sorts for the actual trilogy shows next year?

      Delete
    2. Considering that they did not play each album in their entirety, no, they are not trilogy shows.

  18. Oh man, if the show runs on after 11 tomorrow night I'm going to be missing out [gotta catch that bus home]. : (
I'm happy the remaining people get to listen though.
And as for that merchandise... Oh my god... I need it!!!

  19. Anyone who complains about this setlist really should just give up. There's no pleasing you.

    1. These people will only be pleased if the setlist comprises only Pornography demos with a Disintegration b-sides encore...

    3. But they played the entire Top album! And Hey You and Man Inside My Mouth, and Kyoto Song, and Like Cockatoos, and M, and so much more!

    4. AND You could clearly hear both Robert and Simon's guitars. Reeves was mixed correctly this evening for the audience. They pumped his sound up where it needed to be and dropped him back when we needed to hear Robert. I have an intense dislike for Reeve's guitar style but to be fair he did his job well this evening and so did the sound engineers.

    6. Hahahaha! I thought of Eric as I was reading the comments, especially Craig's regarding no way of pleasing someone who doesn't like this setlist. Lo and behold, look at who's complained.

  26. That was one of the best shows i have ever seen. Seriously.

    1. Yep, me too! Looking forward for tomorrow. Hope for Burn.
      But: Whats wrong with Bloodflowers???

AATT was horrible and too loud!

  27. Just got back home. I'm still buzzing. What a great show. The Cure were tight and the top songs sounded crisp and fresh. I have had a most excellent evening :) I only decided to go at 6pm. I managed to get the Touts down from 170 to 100 for a standing ticket. More than worth it though.

    3. Lol! If anyone thinks this was a crap show then they just totally hate the cure and prob hate being alive as well

  29. Prob the best set since 89 or even 82 !!!

  30. Yes I love this album! it's just that show after show always the same setlist apart some songs! Craig escuse me I would like the new song! with a new guitarist, new song if Robert has just bring Porl or Perry! the group needs of new blood! and for the trilogy of the top is Porl which should be non Reeves!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think Reeves is okay. Porl meesed up so many songs on their last real tour. And I prefer to hear old songs if new ones are like from 4:13...

      Delete
    2. How would Porl or Perry be new blood by your standards?

      Delete
  31. This really makes me believe they will do Top, HOTD, Kiss Me entirety shows!! Wow! Would have loved to be there for this one!! Excited to see what's played on the next nights!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Really hoping for a full HOTD tonight. Had push going round my noggin all night...

  33. I thought last night was great. I can’t understand how anyone can moan about the setlist, not knowing what was coming next and then seeing the look on people’s faces when they realised that they were playing ‘The Wailing Wall’, ‘Man inside my mouth’, etc was fantastic. The sound was great and think that this line up is getting better and better. Reeves goes over the top occasionally and songs like ‘A Night Like This’ don’t need solos that frenetic, but that was one of the best shows I have seen from them. Hoping for Head on the Door tonight, but my head is saying more of the same, and after what we saw last night, that won’t be such a bad thing.

  34. What, no Cold, At Night, Other Voices and Faith?!

Just kidding, this was AWESOME! :-D

Such a refreshingly different set after those lacklustre jukebox shows earlier this year. All of The Top live, whew! It's fun to be a Cure fan again.

  35. fantastic set list - great to have charlotte sometimes back in the set. heading up to london in a few hours

    ReplyDelete
  36. Would be very interested in seeing a video of The Empty World.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Amazing show...finally The Top gets the respect it deserves. Superb setlist, except wrong number

    ReplyDelete
  38. I also suspect the these shows are the trilogy Top/Head/KMKMKM he mentioned they would do. What is the point of doing sepereate shows now that they have already done The Top, and will possibly do Head tonight and Kiss Me on Tuesday

    ReplyDelete
  39. the t-shirts may give the set-list away tonight...

    ReplyDelete
  40. To my surprise I really liked the 'new' version of Never Enough!

  41. I still have one seated ticket for 23rd (good seats) if anyone wants it, it will be regular face value. My friend can't come so you will be sitting next to me!. Contact jason(dot)walton AT me(dot)com

  42. My 54th show and possibly one of the best. Robert in as chatty and happy mood as I've ever seen. I even didn't mind Jason! I recorded the show and will be uploading to various sites shortly but I'd like to know what others think. I was accused of single handedly killing music by a rather outspoken possibly drunk female Cure fan after the show. She wouldn't have it that I was promoting live music and the band. She had me down as a pirating bootlegger when nothing could be further from the truth. She was quite aggressive at first but I managed to defuse the situation and we left on fairly amicable terms. What do others think of me recording shows. They're never sold, normally uploaded to various torrent sites or streamed by those who ask. The recording came out perfectlyand I also recorded our little tete a tete...

    1. If shows are recorded for upload and not for profit then i'm all for it.

    2. Depends how you do it! If you're constantly blocking the view of people around you then I strongly disagree but if not absolutely no problem and it's great for fans unable to go. A woman near me last night recorded on and off, she wasn't very tall so every time she lifted her tablet it completely blocked my view that of others around her!! Very selfish and rude with it!!

    3. Kieron, I do not think it is an issue. What you are doing is helping to preserve one particular live concert. I hope to watch your clips but if an official release is ever made of THIS concert (which could be a great idea) then I would purchase that release and respectfully to all give it preference over your recordings. But if no official release is ever made then what you preserved is all we have. And you aren't doing it to sneakily funnel away profits from someone else who should rightfully be getting them. Also, I don't think there is a single person on the planet who is going to say, "Phew! Now that someone finally put all of The Top live onto YouTube I'll never have to purchase The Top itself. I've been waiting over 30 years for this moment." I wonder if that's what your contradictory friend was thinking.

  43. Oh yeah, wondering if anyone would swap tickets for Monday. I have a standing ticket (stalls/downstairs) but would realy prefer to sit. Contact me at kieronperry*at*mac*dot*com...

  44. What a setlist! THOTD tonight? So excited for our Cure peeps in London

    ReplyDelete
  45. It was fantastic last night, not least the sound quality and the sound mix. Much better than Albert Hall IMHO. As a result I thought Jason's drums finally worked for me. I've never disliked his drumming just the way they're mixed live and this time they got it right (for me). I also appreciated Reeves more too, again it just seemed 'right'. A great great night.

Is it bad that I don't want them to do much of a changed set tonight/tomorrow just because I'm not there!!!
