From scarlett: no cameras, of any type, with the exception of your cell phone, are allowed tonight.

From @namepa100169: Also if anyone isnt familiar with the bowl get there early as you can like really early. If you want to see TS I'd be there by 5. Parking awful, security is horrendous. Long long lines...its a big place. Easiest parking is at Hollywood/Highland and then take the shuttle. Good pizza at Raffalo's Hollywood/LaBrea one big block west.

Marc & Nancy will help with tonight's live reports, and if others want to help, please do! So if you're going to the show and wouldn't mind sending in the live setlist or anything else, please let me know. Twitter, email, text, Facebook, whatever works best for you. Thanks!

Also, if you're familiar enough with The Twilight Sad, could you please let us know their setlist? Want to help their fans keep track, too.

And Olivier might be posting updates at It's A Perfect Day and on Facebook.

Also, if you're Periscoping tonight, please let me know your channel so I can post it. Thanks!

    2. I just contacted someone who works at the Bowl's call center. No cameras of any kind, even point and shoots are allowed for lease events such as The Cure. LA Phil events do allow point and shoots but not professional cameras with detachable lenses. Some point and shoots have a better battery life so they can sometimes be preferable to cell phone cameras. No real difference between the two esp. if you have a better cell phone. Who comes up with these idiotic policies?

    3. By the way the guy I spoke with said there are no metal detectors at the gate. I asked if there is a TSA-style pat-down and he responded there is not. So basically anyone who is so motivated could technically bring a concealed weapon into the venue but for some asinine reason a basic point and shoot camera is banned. Nice.

    6. Anyone who already has such motivation would not be swayed by some random post. It's not like it hasn't happened before. Besides you completely missed the point. If security is going all out to ban something as basic as a camera they might as well go all out and do a real security check instead of some half ass bag check which could easily miss the items that truly should be banned.

    10. I understood the point perfectly the first time around, contrary to your assumption. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I stand by my original statement.

  3. It's standard hollywood bowl policy, should be spelled out on the website under rules for lease events. FYI, great place to picnic before the show is Odin park adjacent to lot B on Highland. Booze allowed so save on 15 dollar beers inside if that's your thing.

  25. Dont want to out my age but i saw the HEAD ON THE DOOR show in DC when i was in college. Was 10th row . i knew they were amazing neverending talent and 30 yrs later here we are. sorry millenials and aughts the 80's alternative bands DEPECHE and Alison Moyet and New Order so much love their music is 4 ever. am SOOOOO excited to see "Mad Bob" at the BOWL 2016. Since THE CURE cuts to the soul and life and not about sexuality he wont look like an old lady in sknny jeans singing about getting off (sorry Mick, that time is PAST).

  26. This was the 11th time I have seen The Cure and Robert never sounded better! He hit notes not attempted in the past 30 years I have gone to Cure shows and the new vocal arrangements were amazing. Might go back tonight and tomorrow! Wish they would play "I Dig You" just once in my life. Love Cult Hero

  27. If you haven't purchased a ticket for this tour, you are doing yourself a grave injustice. Just got back to NorCal after seeing them last night and I'm so glad I made the trip as it was a night I shall not forget! Song after song brought back memories and Robert's voice sounded as strong as ever (and I've seen at least one show from every tour since 1992). The new songs are terrific, especially It Can Never Be the Same. During Burn, I thought I was going to have an out-of-body experience. Highlights for me were the aforementioned Burn and ICNBTS, but also All I Want, Piggy In the Mirror, 2 Late and Give Me It. Do yourselves a favor a get thee to a show! - LM

  28. It was indeed a fantastic show. One of the best Cure performances I've seen but could have done without the poppier encores.
Though it's been played before, I could not believe my ears when I heard the opening notes of 2Late. I could not make out the improvised lyrics. The original lyrics are brilliant. Have loved this song since I first discovered it on my brother's Lovesong cassette single when I was 8. He was not a big fan-only liked the single- and neither was I at the time. I remember sitting in the living room playing and flipping the tape on the stereo over and over again. It took me another 8 years to rediscover the band...and I am glad I did.
