10 Songs We Want on The Cure’s 2016 Tour

Let me stress that this is what the guy at CoS wants to hear. The guy at CoF would have a very different list (and it starts with - 1. 'A Chain of Flowers', 2. 'Last Dance', 3. 'Cold', 4. 'Secrets', 5. 'The Same Deep Water As You').

10 Songs We Want to Hear on The Cure’s 2016 Tour

Their list:
Treasure
Sinking
Do the Hansa
Sirensong
Doubt
Wendytime
The 13th
Descent
(I Don't Know What's Going) On
A Thousand Hours (or Years as he calls it)

  1. I love how he goes to all this trouble to seem like this cooler than everyone Cure fan and then calls the song 'A Thousand Years.'

    2. Ha ha ha. :)

And I'll be honest, they can play everything they always play, but if I hear 'Untitled' just once I'll go home happy.

  2. Yes please do play a chain of flowers!!! I adore this song beyond measure!!! Can't wait to see you guys tomorrow and the next. Marble girl forever

  3. For deeper cuts, I want to hear "cut" and "give me it". For unlikely b-sides, I vote for "the exploding boy" and "2 late". I also second "last dance"! And also please don't forget "Underneath the Stars"! Let's open with that one night in NYC and "Plainsong" the other. :)

    1. Yes! Cut would make my top 10 for sure. Really needs to come back now with Reeves in the band.

Would love to hear Exploding Boy and A Few Hours After This.

And Underneath the Stars to start the Denver show, please!

  4. As long as I get little bit of yelling--Shake Dog Shake--a little bit of twirling--One More Time--and a little bit of fun--Ashes to Ashes cover?--I'll be good.

  7. Definitely ``The Big Hand``.

  8. I see members of the band reading this, shaking their heads, and laughing at how disappointed some of us are going to be. :)

  9. 2/3 songs will be acoustic, only Robert and his guitar, as he did in valencia. Don't you think so?

    1. 'Baby Rag Dog Book' was great, well, at least until Robert renamed it to 'It's Over', and I think that 'The Perfect Boy' is one of their best-ever singles, at least lyrically. I agree with you about the rest.

  20. What about some of the 'as yet unreleased tracks'???
    Any chance do you think?

  21. I really think that The Cure should do a Bowie song on this tour. not only he was obviously a massive influence on Robert, but they have Reeves in the band! i really expect it and i would be seriously disappointed if they will not do it. just PLEASE don't do Young Americans. it doesn't fit the Cure's style at all, at least with the arrangement that Robert gave it in 1995. Ashes To Ashes would be amazing.

  26. A Bowie cover seems a foregone conclusion among fans, and I'm certainly a proponent. But maybe it's too soon? Reeves lost of friend, Robert lost an icon, and the rest of us--my wife and her collection of Bowie life masks notwithstanding--are just punters.

  27. Please, no:
    Wrong number;
    End of the World

    :)

    1. I also completely agree, but i'm afraid they'll play them because Wrong Number is the only released Cure song that features Reeves and TEOTW in Robert's mind was the closest to a hit that the Cure had since Friday I'm In Love...

    2. Hmmm... I love this songs. I want to hear them live.

    3. I've already seen them do 'Wrong Number' and can do without 'The End of the World'.

  39. Treasure should be a definite yes! CoS has bad taste :) Plan to attend last day of HB shows. Some of these are a long shot, but would be nice to hear (in no particular order): The Last Day of Summer, Cold, A Short Term Effect, Bare, Strange Attraction, Jupiter Crash, Yesterday's Gone, Cut Here, 2 Late, To The Sky, Halo, Going Nowhere, The Hungry Ghost, and perhaps a modified version of Faith. If they played Ocean or Without You I will have died and gone to heaven.
No offense to the band or anyone who likes these songs, but I really hope they do not play: Shake Dog Shake (and majority of The Top), Never Enough, Hot Hot Hot, Freakshow, or Let's Go to Bed. I know they are setlist staples, but I wish they weren't.

    2. Nice list...not sure about Club America though. Forgot to add Cut Here. Think they've played it live once during one of the last tours. Forgot which setlist I saw it on. It's probably not a great song live, though.

8 – It Used To Be Me
    9 – Secrets
    10 – Faith

  43. I find it humorously bizarre how alt.end is always played. Surely Robert knows nobody likes this song. I speculate that his attitude might be to heck with the fans HE likes it.
