Freakshow on iTunes
The Freakshow/All Kinds Of Stuff single is now available at iTunes in the US. And it should be in most US stores today. Get a copy, it really is excellent!
And in Paris, the single is available @ Joseph Gibert music shop (Bd Saint Michel).

I'm still awaiting my amazon.ca-ordered copy of "The Only One"; I expect "Freakshow" might take some time. That's okay, I want to hold off on those until I finish my essay at the end of the month. I hope I'll have time to see Mogwai, too.

ReplyDeletemuldfeld - I'm still waiting for a copy of "The Only One" CD (US version) which I pre-ordered through amazon.jp. Today I received e-mail from them saying they still don't have the copies yet. Strange, isn't it?

universal finland told me that the single will be out on the 19th in finland. this is because the release day is always wednesday with their releases. bollocks i say!

I pre-ordered it as soon as I could and it took about a month. Maybe yours are coming soon? ALSO... pre-orderded Freakshow and it's already been shipped through Amazon, so looks like they'll be better with the last 3 singles.

And haven't heard the full version of All Kinds of Stuff yet. I could download it from I-tunes but I'd rather wait till I get my copy in the mail. I want to be surprised by something this time around instead of hearing it on the internet before hand.
zach - You already got it through Amazon! Is it Amazon UK? Mine is Amazon Japan, but since Universal Japan never releases Cure singles, my ordered copy will be shipped from US.

ReplyDeleteI got my cd-copy in tower records and the vinyl copy in HMV, both located in Shibuya. but they had like 3 or 5 copies and I passed tower records a few days later and there was nothing left or refilled of THE ONLY ONE.
seems that the cure doesnt have any chances entering the charts in japan.
will check out 2mrw FREAKSHOW...

ReplyDeleteI really Dug The Only One/NY Trip. They were fun, had that jingle jangle guitar Smith and Porl are known for while Simon does his great bass work.
ReplyDeleteHowever Freakshow still really hasnt grown on me but All Kinds of stuff is a fantastic little number. The only complain is the bass tone in some parts are a bit clicky but I am a bass player with my own preference.
Love love love the B-side but Freakshow is meh to me sorry to say.

ReplyDeleteI love the end of the bridge, with that bit of piano thrown in and that clicking ... don't know what that is, it always catches me by surprise. It's great on headphones, the sound kind of moves out from the center to the outside as the vocals echo over that click-click-plink-plink.

seriously.... i went to bestbuy last month for The Only One and the dipshit there in customer service was completely worthless and had no idea what i was talking about. He couldn't even do as much as find it in their system to tell me they didn't have it.

So I'll get it the earliest on Friday or have to wait till early next week! Yicks! I'll be away for the next two days & when I get back on Friday that CD better be in the my mailbox!
Actually Ideal Copy is good about sending out the CD's when they are released so I'm just hoping the US snail mail can get it here soon!
According to Amazon.com, my copy of Freakshow shipped a few days ago. It should arrive any day now, if not today.

Okay, I'm house cleaning and listening to JTD Disc One. Really, FS ain't that different from Pillbox Tales, DTH, etc. It's like The Top and WMS merged with their post-punk stuff. And AKOS is just that much moreso.

melt - Are you living in Japan, too? Luckily my friend bought her copy of The Only One at Tower Records somewhere in Tokyo but I've never found any in local stores in Chiba... The Cure singles are always hard to get!

That's why there isn't much promotion going on by Universal, especially in Japan. Sad to say, there is completely nothing about The Cure here. No ads, no information, no nothing.:-(

ReplyDeleteGot back from my trip a few hours ago & still no Freakshow in the mail but I got an e-mail from the Ideal Copy with a tracking number & my package is in the Southeastern PA regional center! So hopefully USPS will get it to my local postal office today & I'll get it in the mail tomorrow. If not, I'm sure I'll have it by Monday!
