As curator of the official UTS Museum, I wanted to point out a couple of new artifacts that the field teams have brought in recently, just in case you missed them:

this must be a good song. pity i haven't heard it yet!
ReplyDeletecraig you are fucking awesome!
ReplyDeletei am going to DIE when i finally hear this live - which HOPEFULLY will be at one of the NYC shows!!!
*prays to the gods robert doesnt pray to*
:D
What a lovely exhibit. And may I ask which version is the favorite of the curator? :)
ReplyDeleteI believe it would be great if they decided to release UTS as a single...
ReplyDeleteI don't remember where was the last time that they release a non-pop single... I think "A Letter To Elise" was the last?
I have two favorites - Red Rocks and V's birthday version. ; )
ReplyDeleteCraig: Excellent choices! ;)
ReplyDeletethis is a lovely musuem
ReplyDeleteI'd like to point out however that UTS has scewered the COF poll. A rundown of song popularity would be more revealing if you took UTS out of the equation, so you'll do that next time Craig? OK
A close runner up for my ears is... A Boy I Never Knew. Makes me cry
Already got that planned Paul. Ending this poll a week early. : )
ReplyDeleteThanks craig for adding those great new artifacts to the UTS Museum. All of those videos are great! I love this song!
ReplyDeleteI would like a membership to said museum. I am forever in love with this new song.
ReplyDeletehope THE CURE will read the poll and recognise that a downbeat album would be THAT choice instead of all this lack-of-soul-boring-popsongs. they dont reach the peak of their perfect eighties popsongs anymore....so why they just want everyone to bore with that ???
ReplyDeleteunderneath the star is sooo fucking special !!! i love it.
melt, i love cure pop but have to kinda agree with you. i think freakshow in particular rules, but i really wish they would focus on what they do best these days - dreamy lush ballads or dark scorching rockers.
ReplyDeletebut then, EOTW is one of their best pop songs, so i dunno.
Chris, I hope you get to hear UTS live. It's so awesome live.
ReplyDeletedear clw. cat - the only popsongs i really love from post-wish era are just say yes and the 13th, i think they are very special....guess i dont need to mention all the great one´s before wish....
ReplyDeletei'm so glad i got to see UTS live... an instant Cure classic. Isn't this why we love the Cure? Why we're glad they're still doing what they do??
ReplyDeleteif they had hung it up after Bloodflowers, think of all we would have been denied.
Thank You Robert!!!!
Here's to *crossing my fingers* UTS gets played tonight in Charlotte.
ReplyDeleteIt was mighty gorgeous last nite. :-)
ReplyDeletemelt, really, you like those songs? i love the 13th, but JSY? that's fine if you like it, of course! but they are two of the least popular cure songs, so hurray for unorthodox cure fans! i myself like some stuff people hate.
ReplyDeletei like a lot of post-wish singles - i adore especially maybe someday and EOTW, and now FS! :-D
i dunno. as i watch the cure shows i do enjoy the pop stuff, esp. the old school post-punky pop, but i am in the mood these days for deliciously dark cure. hauntingly chillingly dark, like figurehead. such sinister brilliance, that.
uts is lushly haunting, and i would like more songs in that vein too.
but whatever. i love FS for now!
