A very Happy Father's Day to all of the Cure dads reading tonight, especially our man Jerry D.
ReplyDeleteSo, here we go, the final week of shows. This time next Sunday, it will all be over : (
Hopefully Craig, it won't be ALL over. I know for the shows and all but I have hopes and I am confident we geeks will keep in touch well after the tour is over! All thanks to you...
ReplyDeleteI too expect a great show tonight. Not sure why! Probably wishful thinking ;o)
Talk to you all later!
From Dennis: "At the Loafing Leprechaun...met the girls that won the Amnesty auction, very nice...They are having a Cure party here. Started at 2."
ReplyDeleteBTW, one of the Amnesty winners is Corinne, who was with Rev, Cat and 7bluestars at the Sunrise show.
last time i saw the Cure in Atlanta, it was a killer show! Good luck to all who are attending :)
ReplyDelete(any Cure show is a great show!)
Thanks Fantac, but there's nothing like a gathering for a Cure show. : )
ReplyDeleteI've had this strange feeling all day about Atlanta, probably because it would have been another one of "my shows".
So I expect them to make me regret not going. Worked for the Texas shows. : )
waiting for the waves...
ReplyDeleteafternoon gentlemen...
(see fantac - i can tell!) :D
Just out of curiosity, who are dads on COF?

ReplyDeleteHere, the name of the new B-Side!
:o
ReplyDeleteyaaayy!
men at work just popped in my head...
ReplyDelete:D
Down Under? Shout out to Elise? : )
ReplyDeleteI have a good feeling about UTS for tonight.
ReplyDeleteBut thinking about how this will be over this time next week makes me sad. :(
Craig: My thoughts exactly!!!
ReplyDeletefo sho!!! elise will be so happy! oz finally got recognition!
ReplyDeleteHope we get another immense setlist tonight!
ReplyDeleteI hope for the bloodflowers inspired set to be honest, with a little SDWAY thrown in there ;). With want as the second song.
Interestingly, are they still using a backing track for one of guitars on want like they used to?
Oh, an Craig, if this is the begining of the end: do you know any rumours about after the end? ;).
back in a bit - gonna fix some dinner for myself and then settle in for the show...see ya in a few hours...
ReplyDeleteBeau - I know a bunch of rumors, but absolutely nothing confirmed yet. But something is bound to happen.
ReplyDeleteSee ya Chris.
Excellent :).
ReplyDeleteI can't believe theres only a week of this tour left :(. I remember think when they announced the european tour and re-anounced this one that it was more than half a year ago and it would go really slow.
Bloody hell, times flys eh?
I hope they play "The Snakepit" tonight.
ReplyDeleteForget that, I hope they play Before 3 again. ; )
ReplyDeleteCraig: Ooh, that would be much better. ;)
ReplyDeleteHi everybody. Hope everyone going tonight has a great time. My girlfriend & I had plans to go to the Atlanta show last fall, but couldn't work it out after the rescheduling. I was at the Dream Tour show @ Lakewood; my first time seeing Faith live in person! Atlanta will probably be treated really well.
ReplyDeleteyou guys are like a clique. I'm jealous.
ReplyDeleteIf I only won the lottery.. I would be following the Cure around on their next world tour
which might take place beginning of next year in support of Dream 14, the Christmas album
LOL@clique... and me the eternal outsider, heh. T_T I wish I could be there! Have a great time! :^D
ReplyDeleteRich - Atlanta got Faith for the last 2 shows (Dream and Curiosa). Plus, they got Charlotte and Going Nowhere to bookend Faith at the Curiosa show.
ReplyDeletePlus, Simon got to play some "manly songs" that night, after the show. : )
Good morning, all.
ReplyDeleteYay - for Down Under!!!! Maybe it's the follow up to Like Cockatoos!!!
Good morning Elise!
ReplyDeleteHi Elise! :)
ReplyDeleteHi guys.... how is life? I can't believe that ther is onl one week to go :(
ReplyDelete*cheers for the manly songs* :)
ReplyDeletemmm..... it must be early in the morning - my typing fingers haven't woken up properly yet :)
ReplyDeleteHi Elise!
ReplyDeleteHi v - any packages?
ReplyDeleteThe Dream Tour was great for me. I saw 5 shows (Atlanta & then the last 4 of the tour); I saw every song they performed on the tour at least once. Seeing Fairfax & Philly on this tour was great; but I wish I could have made the shows this week as well :(
ReplyDeleteElise: Not yet. :( Hopefully tomorrow tho.
ReplyDeleteElise - I don't know how things work in your strange future world, but we don't get mail on sundays. : )
ReplyDeleteI just hope you get your package this week.
Hey peeps!
ReplyDeleteI just remembered today that Watching Me Fall is on the list. Think they'll pull it out?
Hi Annie. Don't know about Fall. Maybe in NYC.
ReplyDeleteElise - Never mind. Forgot there wasn't a show last night. It all starts to blur. You were asking about saturday. Sorry future girl.
ReplyDeleteHmm. Have we noticed a trend? Do they play more interesting sets after a night off, or when they've played the night before?
ReplyDeleteI actually checked my mail today, just in case. :D The street one over has the same name and numbers as the one I live on (it's a "Place" while mine is an "Avenue"), so our mail gets mixed up a lot and sometimes I get special deliveries from one street over. ;)
ReplyDeleteCraig: Some of us addicts actually came here and chatted for a while last night, even though there was no show! :o
ReplyDeleteCraig - I'm hoping my package turns up this week too :)
ReplyDeleteand v's right, some of us did turn up to chat last night.
hi everyone
ReplyDeleteOh no no no, I'm joking with you Elise! I forgot that JPX will read WAY too much into things. : )
ReplyDeleteHi April, any luck getting your NYC ticket? It says you're still looking on Facebook
ReplyDeletei'm going to take a nap...be back
ReplyDeleteoh no, i think i got some!
ReplyDeleteWrong thread. : )
ReplyDeletetell u all about it later
ReplyDeleteApril - woo hoo for the tickets
ReplyDeleteCraig - 's ok
From Dennis: "In our seats now...no cameras allowed in"
ReplyDeletebe back soon
ReplyDeleteSee ya April
ReplyDeleteCan I crash this party?
ReplyDeleteI've been a Cure fan since the HOTD days, just saw them on this tour after missing them the last (two?! *weeping*) times they rolled through town, and suffice to say I am back to being a diehard fan again. I've totally regressed to being a teenager in the mid-80s and I'm loving it! haha
Anyway, I think I might hang out with you guys tonight while I watch the Celtics whip the Lakers' butts.
Hi Michelle - the more the merrier, we say.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the madhouse.
Michelle - welcome to the party! I'm a kindred spirit of you - HOTD was my first album too. yay
ReplyDeleteGreetings everyone :D
ReplyDeleteHappy Father's Day to all the Cure Dads - my hub is one of those, the trip to Ft. Lauderdale was his Father's Day present a little bit too :D
Hey Michelle, where in MA do you live?
ReplyDeleteI tried to sneak a bottle of water in and they confiscated it. Bastards.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the welcome!
ReplyDeleteThistle, yeah! I feel so old when I can still vividly remember the time when Kiss Me came out and me and my friends were OBSESSED with that album. I kept the tape in my car for years and years... straight through college, in fact.
I am very, VERY close to Boston, JPX. On the T! I see you're from RI, neighbor. Were you at the Agganis show? I had the best time there! (Duh)
Of course they did. you can only drink their special $5 water. : )
ReplyDeletethey wouldnt let us bring water to the austin show either and we were all so dehydrated...and of course we cant go get it at the bar - we'd lose our spot - i hate GA/pit now.
ReplyDeleteDennis: "Lights out. 65 starting now"
ReplyDeletecat able to do lice comments tonight?
ReplyDeleteomg!
ReplyDeletelice = live!!!
TOL!!!!!!!!
this should be another great show...
ReplyDelete:::wondering what on earth we're all going to do with our free time once the tour has ended:::
The whole water thing just angers me. God fporbid we try to save some money after paying all that extra money for "handling fees", whatever the hell that is (JPX pictures old lady stuffing tickets into an envelope).
ReplyDeleteMichelle I was indeed at that show! I like that venue a lot, although the damn chairs are too close together. I've lived in Brighton, Norwood, and North Attleboro.
Chris - I am SO telling her you said she has lice. : )
ReplyDeleteNo, but I told her if anything interesting happens, she HAS to text us.
:::wondering if they'll do something again soon...I don't know if I can wait another four years :( :::
ReplyDeletecraig - cool.
ReplyDeleteshe said she wasnt sure about doing the comments. she's going to hear uts tonight isnt she...
michelle - Aggains show was great! To hear those chimes to open the show - felt like homecoming or something! Did you hang out at the Paradise b4 the show? Julie Kramer and a sea of cure fans - good times!
ReplyDeletehey everyone! should be an interesting show in hotlanta tonight
ReplyDeletedeeej!!
ReplyDeletelet's start a chant for cat: waves*waves*waves*waves...
ReplyDeletemore like:
ReplyDeletewaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaves
Would it be inappropriate to DO the wave while waiting for the sound of waves? : )
ReplyDeleteheh heh "Prayers for Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaavvess"
ReplyDeletecraig - i was thinking the same thing!! TOL!
ReplyDeletechristina! whats up?
ReplyDeletei cant believe the tour is ending soon. =(
nice how we went from almost 0 comments in the beginning of the new COF blog during start of tour to easily going over 1000 now
hello everyone!
ReplyDeletei have peruvian friends at the concert, so if they tell me anything remotely interesting i will also tell you guys.
I'm really hoping the rumored latin american concerts really take place : D
craig - we'll do the wave at msg and rcmh for ya!
ReplyDeleteNo, Thistle, I came straight from work and couldn't hang out at the Paradise with Julie Kramer (who I ADORE)... it was such a great show, though! Ahhh. I savored it so much after not seeing the Cure live for several years! I'm kicking myself so much for not getting tickets for the NYC shows.
ReplyDeleteThanks Chris!
ReplyDeleteHi aburgac!
ReplyDeleteThistle, I've been to the Paradise many times. The last time I was there was to see The Dandy Warhols. I like that venue because it's so small.
hi aburgac.
ReplyDeleteHi everyone!
ReplyDeleteLong time lurker, first time poster...
NO WAIT! That's NOT what I meant!
its manly fantac!
ReplyDeletethe fantacster, fantacinator, the fan man!!!
jpx - awesome. I've recently left new england, but am missing the music scene more than anything. I'll have to live vicarously through you and michelle from here on in. OK?
ReplyDeleteYou can't fool us Fantac. : )
ReplyDeleteShoot! I'm known! Discovered! Revealed!
ReplyDeleteCraig - You think we'll get neat little pictures in tonight?
ReplyDeleteHey, gang, how are y'all tonight? Wish I were at the Atlanta show without this damned cold.
ReplyDeletefantac! good evening!!! Have you grown some stubble over the weekend to solidify your manly status here?
ReplyDeleteHey fantac!
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear that your off to greener pastures, thistle! I'll let you know about cool Boston happenings.
so UTS tonight and hopefully a new song, could that be possible?
ReplyDeleteHi Fantac, hi everyone - she's baaa-aack
ReplyDeleteFantac - my backup guy for tonight mentioned photos, but I'm not sure if he meant live or after the show. Maybe we'll get surprises tonight.
ReplyDeleteelise! :D
ReplyDeleteu happy about "down under"?
Hey Abrash! Hope you get well soon.
ReplyDeleteHey everyone! I just found this site after the Dallas show. Nice to know there are others who feel the same way about the Cure I do. I first saw them in 1984 at the Arcadia Theatre in Dallas. I remember it so well. 700 people dressed in black, and the Dallas Morning News reporter and his friend in jeans or something. Everyone was asking, "Who is that, and why are they HERE??" Then we saw the pen and notepad come out. I have not missed an American Cure tour since.
ReplyDeleteDennis: "65 done at 7:24...the wait begins"
ReplyDeleteScratch that...one more song.
ReplyDeleteChris - I'm gonna assume you are talking about the b-side and are not lowering the tone of the conversation this early in the morning :)
ReplyDeleteWelcome KJ! Glad you found us.
ReplyDeletehi kj
ReplyDeletethat sounded like a great show.
Welcome, KJ
ReplyDeleteAbrash - I can't believe yu are still struggling with your cold. Rug and up and get some honey tea into you,.
omg elise!!!
ReplyDeleteTOLTOLTOL!!!!!
no the bside! :D
With so few shows left are we going to get any new songs? I've been really loving this blog and reading all the comments. Even though I live alone and I'm sitting at my computer right now, I'm comforted that I'm surrounded by cool friends.
ReplyDeletekj - welcome! You're among your peeps now!
ReplyDeleteawww....
ReplyDelete*give jpx a hug*
Chris - very happy with the b-side. I'm hoping it is about girl who jumped on a plane from Perth to follow the band to Adelaide and got front row :)
ReplyDeleteno cameras?
ReplyDeleteso did they turn away everyone with a camera in their cell phone?
so ridiculous...
Hi kj!
ReplyDeleteabrashtx, there's nothing worse than having a cold this time of the year!
Well I suppose that there are worse things.
while we are waiting for the boys, you guys wanna hear about my robert dream i had last night/this morning?
ReplyDeletehehehe - its rather naughty -so maybe i should save it for later...
:D
altr2elise, I've loved both new b-sides so far!
ReplyDeletejpx - I know what you mean. Now whenever I have to spend time with my non-Cure buddies, I miss you guys.
ReplyDeleteelise - that is exactly what its about! HAS to be!
ReplyDeletechristinap,uh,no thanks.
ReplyDelete=)
jpx: glad you're hanging with us tonight :)
ReplyDeleteChris - You know me, I want so no to a good story :)
ReplyDeleteDennis: "65 done at 8:31...now the real wait"
ReplyDeleteNot that anyone will care once Chris tells her naughty dream. : )
so = say
ReplyDeletealtr2elise, the worst thing is when I'm at work. Sometimes there's a really good thread going and I have to talk to a patient. The whole time I'm thinking about COF. God, perhaps I need a shrink?
ReplyDeleteBtw elise - Congrats on directly inspiring a Cure song!!! I'm thrilled for you and can't wait to hear it!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Morris! I had to pullback during the California shows because I started looking like a raccoon at work!
ReplyDeletejpx - TOL!
ReplyDeleteI am a little slow to type tonight-- kid interruptions ..
ReplyDeleteChristinaP: Early 80s was an awesome time. It was like dressing for a costume party every night we went out! I mean it took hours to get the hair and makeup just right. Vertical hair was so much tougher to do back then. All we had was AquaNet Extra SuperHold and Knox Unflavored Gelatin! Who of you remember???
apearse is back??? :oD
ReplyDeleteso COF people are forming a facebook group? what's the name? how can i be a part of it? i dont know shit about facebook.
ReplyDeletekj, don't forget the spandex and half-shirts. Boy do I miss those days...
ReplyDeleteHello COF friends! How is everyone tonight?
ReplyDeleteWishing all the Dad on here a great Father's Day today! :)
jpx - you obviously have more discipline than me - I cannot stay away. I am now doing half days at work on concert days, just so I can be here with you guys.
ReplyDeleteElise: i got my WoW account restored after being hacked... so i'll se you guys later - i got grind some reputation tonight.
ReplyDeleteaburgac, I'm showing my age at 38 because I don't know anything about Face Book.
ReplyDeleteI didn't use gelatin (well, except when I did my friend's hair in cone spikes) I used soap... just plain soap. It didn't weigh the hair down and it held it very nicely. You had to use the right kind so as not to have any visible residue, etc, but it worked like a dream. Soap and hair spray... my hair was fantastic! :^D
ReplyDeletehehehe...for those of you who cant wait...here's a link. i already posted on another site...wont pollute this blog any more than i already have... :D
ReplyDeletehttp://www.beachofstone.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2051&page=5
i post lots of my robert dreams here...the latest one is the last one at the bottom of the page - scroll down - its kinda long - but lots of good details at the end.
:D
enjoy my smut!
Hi CK!
ReplyDeleteFantac - I know, I can't wait to hear the b-side and then call it as my own.
Good evening CK.
ReplyDeleteMorris - NOOOOOOOOO, don't go over to the dark side - stay with us!
ReplyDeletealtr2elise, I bow to your dedication! Whenever I have a patient cancellation I head right for COF. When the patient suddenly shows up late after I assumed he/she wasn't coming in I want to wring their neck.
ReplyDeleteaburgac - Here it is:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=19731711245&ref=ts
(Sorry, I still don't know how to make a link clickable!)
yay! Children of the 80's night! Bring on the 2 liter Sun Country wine coolers!
ReplyDeleteAburgac - the group on Facebook is COF Geeks. Come and join the fun.
ReplyDeleteJPX - you have to get on Facebook, if not, you need to let Fantac know your email address.
LOL, i'm just kidding...
ReplyDeleteCURE FTW!!! : )
i think it's going to be an extra special show tonight
altr2elise, I"m at trazadone@excite.com!
ReplyDeleteFrom Scott(COF backup tonight): "Big sign out front, no cameras"
ReplyDeleteI remember the use of Knox gelatin... not that I did it myself or anything. I also remember a guy in my high school who was like a really tall version of Robert (and I'm sure he DID use Aqua Net and Knox). I can't even remember the kid's name, but I wonder what he looks like now. Memories!
ReplyDeleteCraig, since when has that stopped anyone?
ReplyDeleteHi elise & craig!
ReplyDeleteThere should be a big sign out front "COF Kittens Rule"
ReplyDeleteThanks, JPX
ReplyDeletemaybe they're getting pissed about all the great videos showing up on YouTube...
ReplyDeleteelise - i think ill make one for msg!
ReplyDeleteEveryone already knows that, altr2elise!
ReplyDeleteCamera police are out tonight in Atlanta!
ReplyDeleteJPX - Just reporting what they are saying.
ReplyDeleteI hate the camera police - booooo :(
ReplyDeleteJPX - Are you sure about your email? lol I tried sending you something and it was returned to me :oS
ReplyDeleteI know, Craig! =) I just think it's funny. When I was younger I'd leave my camera home because of this and then I'd see a million pictures being taken. I felt like such a nerd. Have you noticed that holding up your cellphone has replaced cigarette lighters? I'm actually really glad not as many people smoke at the shows!
ReplyDeleteWoo, Altanta show!
ReplyDeleteI know it has already been called tonight - but I think I can hear the waves already..... maybe that could just be what I am listening to at the moment.
ReplyDeleteUm, Atlanta, that is. Too excited. :)
ReplyDeleteGood evening Kate!
ReplyDeletefantac, weird, are you sure you typed it in correctly, it's,
ReplyDeleteTRAZADONE@EXCITE.COM try cutting and pasting.
Trazadone as in the sleep medication.
the 80s/90s were so much fun! not that the 00's arent.. but yeah. i wish i had been around! im sure the next wave of teenagers will be like, i wish i grew up in the 00's though i cant really see that =/
ReplyDeletea good thing about being a kid now is that back then there was no youtube or COF! =D
Hey Kate, glad you're here!
ReplyDeleteSo right about the cellophone "lighters". I was talking about that at the Dallas show.
ReplyDeleteI already love this group!!
Confession: in the mid 90s, I talked my husband into the middle names of Elise and Charlotte for our daughters. I still don't think he gets it, I mean he knows they are Cure songs, but.....hee hee hee. I just couldn't come up with a good song title for our 4 year-oldson's name, ;though we do call him Spiderman since he loves it when his big sisters sing Lullaby to him!
Hi Kate :)
ReplyDeleteThat's the way to think DJ! : )
ReplyDeletedeej - true - i dont know how i survived without the internet. i mean - god - not even mapquest to help you out!
ReplyDeleteback then we used what they call "maps".
Hard to believe the tour is almost over. Just a few more shows! It's been a great few weeks so far, I hate it to end but seriously I have to get back to the real world once it is over. I'm in Cure La La Land. I'll be sad when it's over. What will we do???
ReplyDeleteDJ - I agree, the internet has totally helped me to feed my obsession.
ReplyDeletedjscribbles, now you're going to get a lot of comments like,"In my day..." As in, in my day we barely had computers, no internet, no cellphones, no ipods;you're so lucky to be living now as a 15-years old!
ReplyDeleteChris - LOL
ReplyDeleteWe will definitely have to have a virtual party when the new album is released!!!
ha! good call jpx!
ReplyDeleteGod,maps! I hate maps. I just bought a new car and made sure I had GPS put in, it's a dream come true, especially when navigating around Boston.
ReplyDeleteElise, my doctor said he's seeing a lot of people with flu-like symptoms right now. Go figure. Mine seems a lot like what Robert had (voice problems). Not sure how I managed to catch it from him...
ReplyDeleteDj, in my day we had no GPS, no satellite radio...
ReplyDeleteIn my day, we didn't have cd's
ReplyDeletekj - TOL! I was laughing so hard my family thought something was wrong with me! You Rule!
ReplyDeleteAbrash - you need to spread the rumour that you DID catch it from Robert :)
ReplyDeleteHeya, Craig, elise. Thanks jpx!
ReplyDelete"BACK THEN" i used to write a letter to Craig, containing the set list, and my review... just for him to read and pass around to his friends.
ReplyDelete: ) LOL
starting to get butterflies....
ReplyDeletecraig -where is that text!!!
hey, in MY day, we didn't even have CDs. We stil had 8 tracks! (I am 45.)
ReplyDeleteWith the hair thing, we used egg whites or Elmer's carpenter's wood glue. :)
ReplyDeletealtr2elise, theother day I found an old cassette tape of music. I was excited because it had stuff on it that I hadn't heard since the 80s. My excitement soon turned to annoyance when I realized that I didn't have anything to play it on! Stupid modern world.
ReplyDeleteim signing up on facebook now to add those of you on it - most of you dont use myspace? and now my classmates are gonna be asking me who all of you are once they see my friends page
ReplyDeletei think im in the wrong generation lol! im not into ipods, i like casettes and vinyl and cds.. and i dont have a cellphone. my excuse - theyre mainstream HA!
KJ - my niece's middle name is Elise, but not for the same reason as you (my sister has absolutely CRAP music taste)
ReplyDeleteMorris - Ah, the good old days. I would bring the letter to each Cure fan's house and let them copy it for their files. : )
ReplyDeletedj, your friends are all going to say, "Who are all those cool elderly people?"!
ReplyDeleteJPX - Still no luck... Tried twice and pasted both times... Errr... lol Email me at imatn@mac.com please!
ReplyDeleteNothing yet Chris, too early.
ReplyDeletejpx - ROFL - seriously, who does own a tape player these days?
ReplyDeletedj, no scanners, no Xerox machines...
ReplyDeletejpx - OMG - same thing happened to me earlier this year! Thanks - I feel better now. Can we hang out together in the nursing home? ;)
ReplyDeleteI still remember my first Walkman - so cool!
ReplyDeletefantac, done and done!
ReplyDeleteCraig: LOL... it really was different in the 80's. My first Cure concert... i had no idea what the setlist was going to be. Everything was a surprise.
ReplyDelete
