  1. A very Happy Father's Day to all of the Cure dads reading tonight, especially our man Jerry D.

So, here we go, the final week of shows. This time next Sunday, it will all be over : (

  2. Hopefully Craig, it won't be ALL over. I know for the shows and all but I have hopes and I am confident we geeks will keep in touch well after the tour is over! All thanks to you...

I too expect a great show tonight. Not sure why! Probably wishful thinking ;o)

    Talk to you all later!

  3. From Dennis: "At the Loafing Leprechaun...met the girls that won the Amnesty auction, very nice...They are having a Cure party here. Started at 2."

BTW, one of the Amnesty winners is Corinne, who was with Rev, Cat and 7bluestars at the Sunrise show.

  4. last time i saw the Cure in Atlanta, it was a killer show! Good luck to all who are attending :)

(any Cure show is a great show!)

    ReplyDelete
  5. Thanks Fantac, but there's nothing like a gathering for a Cure show. : )

I've had this strange feeling all day about Atlanta, probably because it would have been another one of "my shows".
So I expect them to make me regret not going. Worked for the Texas shows. : )

  6. waiting for the waves...

    afternoon gentlemen...

    (see fantac - i can tell!) :D

    ReplyDelete
  7. Just out of curiosity, who are dads on COF?

  10. Down Under? Shout out to Elise? : )

    ReplyDelete
  11. I have a good feeling about UTS for tonight.

But thinking about how this will be over this time next week makes me sad. :(

    ReplyDelete
  12. Craig: My thoughts exactly!!!

    ReplyDelete
  13. fo sho!!! elise will be so happy! oz finally got recognition!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Hope we get another immense setlist tonight!

I hope for the bloodflowers inspired set to be honest, with a little SDWAY thrown in there ;). With want as the second song.

Interestingly, are they still using a backing track for one of guitars on want like they used to?

Oh, an Craig, if this is the begining of the end: do you know any rumours about after the end? ;).

    ReplyDelete
  15. back in a bit - gonna fix some dinner for myself and then settle in for the show...see ya in a few hours...

    ReplyDelete
  16. Beau - I know a bunch of rumors, but absolutely nothing confirmed yet. But something is bound to happen.

    See ya Chris.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Excellent :).
I can't believe theres only a week of this tour left :(. I remember think when they announced the european tour and re-anounced this one that it was more than half a year ago and it would go really slow.
    Bloody hell, times flys eh?

    ReplyDelete
  18. I hope they play "The Snakepit" tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Forget that, I hope they play Before 3 again. ; )

    ReplyDelete
  20. Craig: Ooh, that would be much better. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  21. Hi everybody. Hope everyone going tonight has a great time. My girlfriend & I had plans to go to the Atlanta show last fall, but couldn't work it out after the rescheduling. I was at the Dream Tour show @ Lakewood; my first time seeing Faith live in person! Atlanta will probably be treated really well.

    ReplyDelete
  22. you guys are like a clique. I'm jealous.
If I only won the lottery.. I would be following the Cure around on their next world tour
which might take place beginning of next year in support of Dream 14, the Christmas album

    ReplyDelete
  23. LOL@clique... and me the eternal outsider, heh. T_T I wish I could be there! Have a great time! :^D

    ReplyDelete
  24. Rich - Atlanta got Faith for the last 2 shows (Dream and Curiosa). Plus, they got Charlotte and Going Nowhere to bookend Faith at the Curiosa show.
Plus, Simon got to play some "manly songs" that night, after the show. : )

    ReplyDelete
  25. Good morning, all.

Yay - for Down Under!!!! Maybe it's the follow up to Like Cockatoos!!!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Hi guys.... how is life? I can't believe that ther is onl one week to go :(

    ReplyDelete
  27. *cheers for the manly songs* :)

    ReplyDelete
  28. mmm..... it must be early in the morning - my typing fingers haven't woken up properly yet :)

    ReplyDelete
  29. The Dream Tour was great for me. I saw 5 shows (Atlanta & then the last 4 of the tour); I saw every song they performed on the tour at least once. Seeing Fairfax & Philly on this tour was great; but I wish I could have made the shows this week as well :(

    ReplyDelete
  30. Elise: Not yet. :( Hopefully tomorrow tho.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Elise - I don't know how things work in your strange future world, but we don't get mail on sundays. : )

I just hope you get your package this week.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Hey peeps!

I just remembered today that Watching Me Fall is on the list. Think they'll pull it out?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Hi Annie. Don't know about Fall. Maybe in NYC.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Elise - Never mind. Forgot there wasn't a show last night. It all starts to blur. You were asking about saturday. Sorry future girl.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Hmm. Have we noticed a trend? Do they play more interesting sets after a night off, or when they've played the night before?

    ReplyDelete
  36. I actually checked my mail today, just in case. :D The street one over has the same name and numbers as the one I live on (it's a "Place" while mine is an "Avenue"), so our mail gets mixed up a lot and sometimes I get special deliveries from one street over. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  37. Craig: Some of us addicts actually came here and chatted for a while last night, even though there was no show! :o

    ReplyDelete
  38. Craig - I'm hoping my package turns up this week too :)

and v's right, some of us did turn up to chat last night.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Oh no no no, I'm joking with you Elise! I forgot that JPX will read WAY too much into things. : )

    ReplyDelete
  40. Hi April, any luck getting your NYC ticket? It says you're still looking on Facebook

    ReplyDelete
  41. i'm going to take a nap...be back

    ReplyDelete
  42. April - woo hoo for the tickets

    Craig - 's ok

    ReplyDelete
  43. From Dennis: "In our seats now...no cameras allowed in"

    ReplyDelete
  44. Can I crash this party?

I've been a Cure fan since the HOTD days, just saw them on this tour after missing them the last (two?! *weeping*) times they rolled through town, and suffice to say I am back to being a diehard fan again. I've totally regressed to being a teenager in the mid-80s and I'm loving it! haha

Anyway, I think I might hang out with you guys tonight while I watch the Celtics whip the Lakers' butts.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Hi Michelle - the more the merrier, we say.

    Welcome to the madhouse.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Michelle - welcome to the party! I'm a kindred spirit of you - HOTD was my first album too. yay

    ReplyDelete
  47. Greetings everyone :D

Happy Father's Day to all the Cure Dads - my hub is one of those, the trip to Ft. Lauderdale was his Father's Day present a little bit too :D

    ReplyDelete
  48. Hey Michelle, where in MA do you live?

    ReplyDelete
  49. I tried to sneak a bottle of water in and they confiscated it. Bastards.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Thanks for the welcome!

Thistle, yeah! I feel so old when I can still vividly remember the time when Kiss Me came out and me and my friends were OBSESSED with that album. I kept the tape in my car for years and years... straight through college, in fact.

I am very, VERY close to Boston, JPX. On the T! I see you're from RI, neighbor. Were you at the Agganis show? I had the best time there! (Duh)

    ReplyDelete
  51. Of course they did. you can only drink their special $5 water. : )

    ReplyDelete
  52. they wouldnt let us bring water to the austin show either and we were all so dehydrated...and of course we cant go get it at the bar - we'd lose our spot - i hate GA/pit now.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Dennis: "Lights out. 65 starting now"

    ReplyDelete
  54. cat able to do lice comments tonight?

    ReplyDelete
  55. this should be another great show...

:::wondering what on earth we're all going to do with our free time once the tour has ended:::

    ReplyDelete
  56. The whole water thing just angers me. God fporbid we try to save some money after paying all that extra money for "handling fees", whatever the hell that is (JPX pictures old lady stuffing tickets into an envelope).

Michelle I was indeed at that show! I like that venue a lot, although the damn chairs are too close together. I've lived in Brighton, Norwood, and North Attleboro.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Chris - I am SO telling her you said she has lice. : )

No, but I told her if anything interesting happens, she HAS to text us.

    ReplyDelete
  58. :::wondering if they'll do something again soon...I don't know if I can wait another four years :( :::

    ReplyDelete
  59. craig - cool.

she said she wasnt sure about doing the comments. she's going to hear uts tonight isnt she...

    ReplyDelete
  60. michelle - Aggains show was great! To hear those chimes to open the show - felt like homecoming or something! Did you hang out at the Paradise b4 the show? Julie Kramer and a sea of cure fans - good times!

    ReplyDelete
  61. hey everyone! should be an interesting show in hotlanta tonight

    ReplyDelete
  62. let's start a chant for cat: waves*waves*waves*waves...

    ReplyDelete
  63. more like:

    waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaves

    ReplyDelete
  64. Would it be inappropriate to DO the wave while waiting for the sound of waves? : )

    ReplyDelete
  65. heh heh "Prayers for Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaavvess"

    ReplyDelete
  66. craig - i was thinking the same thing!! TOL!

    ReplyDelete
  67. christina! whats up?

i cant believe the tour is ending soon. =(
nice how we went from almost 0 comments in the beginning of the new COF blog during start of tour to easily going over 1000 now

    ReplyDelete
  68. hello everyone!
i have peruvian friends at the concert, so if they tell me anything remotely interesting i will also tell you guys.
I'm really hoping the rumored latin american concerts really take place : D

    ReplyDelete
  69. craig - we'll do the wave at msg and rcmh for ya!

    ReplyDelete
  70. No, Thistle, I came straight from work and couldn't hang out at the Paradise with Julie Kramer (who I ADORE)... it was such a great show, though! Ahhh. I savored it so much after not seeing the Cure live for several years! I'm kicking myself so much for not getting tickets for the NYC shows.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Hi aburgac!

Thistle, I've been to the Paradise many times. The last time I was there was to see The Dandy Warhols. I like that venue because it's so small.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Hi everyone!

Long time lurker, first time poster...

NO WAIT! That's NOT what I meant!

    ReplyDelete
  73. its manly fantac!

the fantacster, fantacinator, the fan man!!!

    ReplyDelete
  74. jpx - awesome. I've recently left new england, but am missing the music scene more than anything. I'll have to live vicarously through you and michelle from here on in. OK?

    ReplyDelete
  75. You can't fool us Fantac. : )

    ReplyDelete
  76. Shoot! I'm known! Discovered! Revealed!

    ReplyDelete
  77. Craig - You think we'll get neat little pictures in tonight?

    ReplyDelete
  78. Hey, gang, how are y'all tonight? Wish I were at the Atlanta show without this damned cold.

    ReplyDelete
  79. fantac! good evening!!! Have you grown some stubble over the weekend to solidify your manly status here?

    ReplyDelete
  80. Hey fantac!

Happy to hear that your off to greener pastures, thistle! I'll let you know about cool Boston happenings.

    ReplyDelete
  81. so UTS tonight and hopefully a new song, could that be possible?

    ReplyDelete
  82. Hi Fantac, hi everyone - she's baaa-aack

    ReplyDelete
  83. Fantac - my backup guy for tonight mentioned photos, but I'm not sure if he meant live or after the show. Maybe we'll get surprises tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  84. elise! :D

    u happy about "down under"?

    ReplyDelete
  85. Hey Abrash! Hope you get well soon.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Hey everyone! I just found this site after the Dallas show. Nice to know there are others who feel the same way about the Cure I do. I first saw them in 1984 at the Arcadia Theatre in Dallas. I remember it so well. 700 people dressed in black, and the Dallas Morning News reporter and his friend in jeans or something. Everyone was asking, "Who is that, and why are they HERE??" Then we saw the pen and notepad come out. I have not missed an American Cure tour since.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Dennis: "65 done at 7:24...the wait begins"

    ReplyDelete
  88. Scratch that...one more song.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Chris - I'm gonna assume you are talking about the b-side and are not lowering the tone of the conversation this early in the morning :)

    ReplyDelete
  90. Welcome KJ! Glad you found us.

    ReplyDelete
  91. hi kj

that sounded like a great show.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Welcome, KJ

Abrash - I can't believe yu are still struggling with your cold. Rug and up and get some honey tea into you,.

    ReplyDelete
  93. omg elise!!!

    TOLTOLTOL!!!!!

    no the bside! :D

    ReplyDelete
  94. With so few shows left are we going to get any new songs? I've been really loving this blog and reading all the comments. Even though I live alone and I'm sitting at my computer right now, I'm comforted that I'm surrounded by cool friends.

    ReplyDelete
  95. kj - welcome! You're among your peeps now!

    ReplyDelete
  96. Chris - very happy with the b-side. I'm hoping it is about girl who jumped on a plane from Perth to follow the band to Adelaide and got front row :)

    ReplyDelete
  97. no cameras?

so did they turn away everyone with a camera in their cell phone?

    so ridiculous...

    ReplyDelete
  98. Hi kj!

abrashtx, there's nothing worse than having a cold this time of the year!

Well I suppose that there are worse things.

    ReplyDelete
  99. while we are waiting for the boys, you guys wanna hear about my robert dream i had last night/this morning?

hehehe - its rather naughty -so maybe i should save it for later...

    :D

    ReplyDelete
  100. altr2elise, I've loved both new b-sides so far!

    ReplyDelete
  101. jpx - I know what you mean. Now whenever I have to spend time with my non-Cure buddies, I miss you guys.

    ReplyDelete
  102. elise - that is exactly what its about! HAS to be!

    ReplyDelete
  103. jpx: glad you're hanging with us tonight :)

    ReplyDelete
  104. Chris - You know me, I want so no to a good story :)

    ReplyDelete
  105. Dennis: "65 done at 8:31...now the real wait"

Not that anyone will care once Chris tells her naughty dream. : )

    ReplyDelete
  106. altr2elise, the worst thing is when I'm at work. Sometimes there's a really good thread going and I have to talk to a patient. The whole time I'm thinking about COF. God, perhaps I need a shrink?

    ReplyDelete
  107. Btw elise - Congrats on directly inspiring a Cure song!!! I'm thrilled for you and can't wait to hear it!!!

    ReplyDelete
  108. Thanks, Morris! I had to pullback during the California shows because I started looking like a raccoon at work!

    ReplyDelete
  109. I am a little slow to type tonight-- kid interruptions ..

ChristinaP: Early 80s was an awesome time. It was like dressing for a costume party every night we went out! I mean it took hours to get the hair and makeup just right. Vertical hair was so much tougher to do back then. All we had was AquaNet Extra SuperHold and Knox Unflavored Gelatin! Who of you remember???

    ReplyDelete
  110. apearse is back??? :oD

    ReplyDelete
  111. so COF people are forming a facebook group? what's the name? how can i be a part of it? i dont know shit about facebook.

    ReplyDelete
  112. kj, don't forget the spandex and half-shirts. Boy do I miss those days...

    ReplyDelete
  113. Hello COF friends! How is everyone tonight?

Wishing all the Dad on here a great Father's Day today! :)

    ReplyDelete
  114. jpx - you obviously have more discipline than me - I cannot stay away. I am now doing half days at work on concert days, just so I can be here with you guys.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Elise: i got my WoW account restored after being hacked... so i'll se you guys later - i got grind some reputation tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  116. aburgac, I'm showing my age at 38 because I don't know anything about Face Book.

    ReplyDelete
  117. I didn't use gelatin (well, except when I did my friend's hair in cone spikes) I used soap... just plain soap. It didn't weigh the hair down and it held it very nicely. You had to use the right kind so as not to have any visible residue, etc, but it worked like a dream. Soap and hair spray... my hair was fantastic! :^D

    ReplyDelete
  118. hehehe...for those of you who cant wait...here's a link. i already posted on another site...wont pollute this blog any more than i already have... :D

    http://www.beachofstone.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2051&page=5

i post lots of my robert dreams here...the latest one is the last one at the bottom of the page - scroll down - its kinda long - but lots of good details at the end.

    :D

    enjoy my smut!

    ReplyDelete
  119. Hi CK!

Fantac - I know, I can't wait to hear the b-side and then call it as my own.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Morris - NOOOOOOOOO, don't go over to the dark side - stay with us!

    ReplyDelete
  121. altr2elise, I bow to your dedication! Whenever I have a patient cancellation I head right for COF. When the patient suddenly shows up late after I assumed he/she wasn't coming in I want to wring their neck.

    ReplyDelete
  122. aburgac - Here it is:

    http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=19731711245&ref=ts

(Sorry, I still don't know how to make a link clickable!)

    ReplyDelete
  123. yay! Children of the 80's night! Bring on the 2 liter Sun Country wine coolers!

    ReplyDelete
  124. Aburgac - the group on Facebook is COF Geeks. Come and join the fun.

JPX - you have to get on Facebook, if not, you need to let Fantac know your email address.

    ReplyDelete
  125. LOL, i'm just kidding...

    CURE FTW!!! : )

i think it's going to be an extra special show tonight

    ReplyDelete
  126. altr2elise, I"m at trazadone@excite.com!

    ReplyDelete
  127. From Scott(COF backup tonight): "Big sign out front, no cameras"

    ReplyDelete
  128. I remember the use of Knox gelatin... not that I did it myself or anything. I also remember a guy in my high school who was like a really tall version of Robert (and I'm sure he DID use Aqua Net and Knox). I can't even remember the kid's name, but I wonder what he looks like now. Memories!

    ReplyDelete
  129. Craig, since when has that stopped anyone?

    ReplyDelete
  130. There should be a big sign out front "COF Kittens Rule"

    ReplyDelete
  131. maybe they're getting pissed about all the great videos showing up on YouTube...

    ReplyDelete
  132. elise - i think ill make one for msg!

    ReplyDelete
  133. Everyone already knows that, altr2elise!

    ReplyDelete
  134. Camera police are out tonight in Atlanta!

    ReplyDelete
  135. JPX - Just reporting what they are saying.

    ReplyDelete
  136. I hate the camera police - booooo :(

    ReplyDelete
  137. JPX - Are you sure about your email? lol I tried sending you something and it was returned to me :oS

    ReplyDelete
  138. I know, Craig! =) I just think it's funny. When I was younger I'd leave my camera home because of this and then I'd see a million pictures being taken. I felt like such a nerd. Have you noticed that holding up your cellphone has replaced cigarette lighters? I'm actually really glad not as many people smoke at the shows!

    ReplyDelete
  139. I know it has already been called tonight - but I think I can hear the waves already..... maybe that could just be what I am listening to at the moment.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Um, Atlanta, that is. Too excited. :)

    ReplyDelete
  141. fantac, weird, are you sure you typed it in correctly, it's,

    TRAZADONE@EXCITE.COM try cutting and pasting.

Trazadone as in the sleep medication.

    ReplyDelete
  142. the 80s/90s were so much fun! not that the 00's arent.. but yeah. i wish i had been around! im sure the next wave of teenagers will be like, i wish i grew up in the 00's though i cant really see that =/

a good thing about being a kid now is that back then there was no youtube or COF! =D

    ReplyDelete
  143. Hey Kate, glad you're here!

    ReplyDelete
  144. So right about the cellophone "lighters". I was talking about that at the Dallas show.
    I already love this group!!

Confession: in the mid 90s, I talked my husband into the middle names of Elise and Charlotte for our daughters. I still don't think he gets it, I mean he knows they are Cure songs, but.....hee hee hee. I just couldn't come up with a good song title for our 4 year-oldson's name, ;though we do call him Spiderman since he loves it when his big sisters sing Lullaby to him!

    ReplyDelete
  145. That's the way to think DJ! : )

    ReplyDelete
  146. deej - true - i dont know how i survived without the internet. i mean - god - not even mapquest to help you out!

back then we used what they call "maps".

    ReplyDelete
  147. Hard to believe the tour is almost over. Just a few more shows! It's been a great few weeks so far, I hate it to end but seriously I have to get back to the real world once it is over. I'm in Cure La La Land. I'll be sad when it's over. What will we do???

    ReplyDelete
  148. DJ - I agree, the internet has totally helped me to feed my obsession.

    ReplyDelete
  149. djscribbles, now you're going to get a lot of comments like,"In my day..." As in, in my day we barely had computers, no internet, no cellphones, no ipods;you're so lucky to be living now as a 15-years old!

    ReplyDelete
  150. Chris - LOL

We will definitely have to have a virtual party when the new album is released!!!

    ReplyDelete
  151. God,maps! I hate maps. I just bought a new car and made sure I had GPS put in, it's a dream come true, especially when navigating around Boston.

    ReplyDelete
  152. Elise, my doctor said he's seeing a lot of people with flu-like symptoms right now. Go figure. Mine seems a lot like what Robert had (voice problems). Not sure how I managed to catch it from him...

    ReplyDelete
  153. Dj, in my day we had no GPS, no satellite radio...

    ReplyDelete
  154. kj - TOL! I was laughing so hard my family thought something was wrong with me! You Rule!

    ReplyDelete
  155. Abrash - you need to spread the rumour that you DID catch it from Robert :)

    ReplyDelete
  156. Heya, Craig, elise. Thanks jpx!

    ReplyDelete
  157. "BACK THEN" i used to write a letter to Craig, containing the set list, and my review... just for him to read and pass around to his friends.

    : ) LOL

    ReplyDelete
  158. starting to get butterflies....

    craig -where is that text!!!

    ReplyDelete
  159. hey, in MY day, we didn't even have CDs. We stil had 8 tracks! (I am 45.)

    ReplyDelete
  160. With the hair thing, we used egg whites or Elmer's carpenter's wood glue. :)

    ReplyDelete
  161. altr2elise, theother day I found an old cassette tape of music. I was excited because it had stuff on it that I hadn't heard since the 80s. My excitement soon turned to annoyance when I realized that I didn't have anything to play it on! Stupid modern world.

    ReplyDelete
  162. im signing up on facebook now to add those of you on it - most of you dont use myspace? and now my classmates are gonna be asking me who all of you are once they see my friends page

i think im in the wrong generation lol! im not into ipods, i like casettes and vinyl and cds.. and i dont have a cellphone. my excuse - theyre mainstream HA!

    ReplyDelete
  163. KJ - my niece's middle name is Elise, but not for the same reason as you (my sister has absolutely CRAP music taste)

    ReplyDelete
  164. Morris - Ah, the good old days. I would bring the letter to each Cure fan's house and let them copy it for their files. : )

    ReplyDelete
