  2. And notice how Si has his left arm covered in those photos? I know what that was about. : )

And no, it was nothing "bad".

  9. Anah - It's not my story to tell. Cute story though.

  10. OH!! And Robert did not GO into the crowd in Charlotte - he simply went behind the speakers to the far left of the stage to sing to the people standing there. He did slap some hands, though - something I have NEVER seen him do! LOL! He's been acting more and more rock starry lately, but in an adorable healthy way, not in a cheesy pretentious Bono way.

Is Robert on X for this tour? The euphoria emanating from him is killer!

  11. It's all that drug-laced cough syrup! LOL, I don't know-I'm kidding!

He teased the crowd with throwing the Mic in, but never did.

And can I just say here, that curfews really suck!

  12. Anah: He DID toss it into the crowd!

  13. Craig: Last night? Well, all the jumping up and down must have rattled my brains! :)

  14. Anah: Oh, you meant in Charlotte. No, I meant San Diego. Sorry.

  15. What an odd encounter she had! :) It's a shame that she had a hard time with Robert, but I'm glad she came away with it feeling mostly positive. :)

  16. Away *from* it, not *with* it. :P

  17. V: Remember the San Diego chat?
Seems like it was a tough day for him.

  18. Craig: I wasn't there for most of that night's show chat. (That was the night I went to REM.)

  19. V: Ah, sorry. Never mind then. : )

  20. *Re-reading that show chat :) *

Oh, was that the night that he was acting mysteriously? :)

  21. Silly me, missing Cure chats for another band's show! My priorities are all messed up. :D

  22. Craig: So yeah, I can see him being tired and cranky if he hadn't been feeling well. He seemed pretty cranky in Hamburg - was kinda nasty to his roadies at one point! And he didn't even have a cold then! :)

Glad he's in better spirits now.

  23. Hi- my name is Dallas and i am a Cure-a-holic....
Fan for over 23 years and very pleased at such a down to earth group of folks over here at COF. what a pleasure!

  24. Hi Honey, this is a fabulous bunch of people. I can't think of any other way I would prefer to lose time at the moment...... except maybe at a Cure concert :)

  25. V:

I just saw REM last week in DC...great show in a completely different way then The Cure.

Probably the best I've ever seen them.

What's up with the elders of rock and this resurgence? I;m not complaining.

  26. Tim: Cool! Did you wear your Cure shirt? (Didn't you mention possibly wearing a Cure shirt to the REM show a few weeks ago? :) ) I thought they were really good - it's so awesome to see these bands still kicking major ass!

    ReplyDelete
  27. V: yep, wore it proudly..vintage Prayer Tour shirt. Took my 10 yr old...his first concert. He's not ready for The Cure yet...Maybe someday...

  32. Yep, I can verify that Robert was not feeling well the next night in Phoenix either.

He didn't go out to play with Porl or Simon after the show, opting to stay at the venue for a low key night before boarding the coach at about 1:30am or so...even Porl and Simon said he was not feeling well, and after having to deal with that nasty cold, I am sure he was under very strict orders to rest up for the remaining dates.

He seems to be doing much better now, though and I am sure he is looking forward to a bit of time off after the NYC shows.

It must be difficult to be ill when on the road without the comforts and care of home to nurse you back to health.

  33. Hey Craig, out of curiosity, did Simon have his arm covered because of multiple scratches? My husband has been trying to convince me since the Phoenix show that his left arm had marks all up and down it. I couldn't tell, but he swears to it. All I require is a yay or nay on that one.

To all on this board, it has been a treat watching all the activity on the boards of late and hope all that are going to the last 3 shows have a great time!

  34. Terminalbliss i think Simon has been writing various messages in marker on his arm, you can sort of see it in these LA pics

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/wearefloating/2545022875/sizes/o/in/set-72157605398679077/

i think it says "there's got to be more than this" or something similar, is he getting burned out with the touring?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Yeah, I saw those pics, and my hubbie says that what he saw was not writing . More like cuts or slashes...? I love him dearly, but I could say that he may have been hallucinating, though he's a pretty lucid cat. A mystery, indeed. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'm sure he's getting a bit tired of touring...misses his wife and children and it seems that Robert has been comforting him of late....it's got to be tough for all of them to be away for so long and it seems as though they try to support each other on the "bad days"

Perhaps they're messages to his wife and family?

You know, if I was married to one of the boys in the band (okay, maybe one particular boy), I'd be sure to check the youtube footage just to see how he was doing....

the ladies must miss their boys something awful when they travel like this...

  37. Too bad Robert wasn't too social that night but it nice to see that the rest of the band were quite nice!

I'd be a bit upset too but wouldn't worry about it much. Robert is Robert and maybe he was just in a bad mood or not feeling well. We all can get that way & I'm guilty of being moody too. Still it must have been a great experience! Nice pictures too!

    ReplyDelete
  38. And to Audriana- I am sorry you had such a bad experience with Robert. Truly, I could see how disappointing that would have been. I was fortunate to meet him in Atlanta a few years back, and he was very nice, though somewhat reserved. I would have been devastated had he been the way you met him. I know that our idols are merely mortals and have bad days too, but I would like to think that they would have the where-with-all to know that for us folks, this is a once in a lifetime thing.

Okay, I will shut up now.
