  1. I hope someone gets this up on DIME soon. I want to be able to listen to it through headphones.

    ReplyDelete
  2. DIME? I really wanna hear the posted audio but idk what DIME is.

    ReplyDelete
  3. so i have the Fuse taping on my computer and i'm just gonna edit out the beginning because i put it to record ten minutes early. Also, did anyone notice that POY seemed shortened on the broadcast?

Robert opened up with "living so long" instead of "looking so long", i think it's Fuse's fault for trying to shorten such a beautiful song.

    *taken from the MSG post*

    adding more,
i will have this up shortly as video file and then when i figure how to do it, i'll edit it into tracks to put on DIME, unless someone beats me to the punch.

    ReplyDelete
  4. by the way, DIME is a torrent site that posts live shows, audio, and i guess video, although i'm not sure if they do video or not.

    http://www.dimeadozen.org/

    ReplyDelete
  5. I thought that the audio seemed a little off the visual of POY... maybe they did shorten it? For some reason I didn't notice a difference in words, though...

    ReplyDelete
  6. it seems like only yesterday but also a million years ago that we finally got the cure in vancouver last month after WAY too many years.

i've no dime account and they aren't taking reg right now. anyone want to put a torrent elsewhere?

thanks a million again for all yr work craig

    ReplyDelete
  7. i will upload a torrent on both DIME and The Pirate Bay.

maybe Craig will post it when I'm done?

    ReplyDelete
  8. thanks andy!
    can't wait

    ReplyDelete
  9. Off-topic...

I was just browsing through pics and noticed all the new stickers on Robert's guitars. One of them said "born again existentialist" (very cool). Does anyone know of a blog topic/message board thread somewhere that is focused on this topic?

Also, I don't get FUSE and am looking forward to seeing whatever gets posted.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Of course Andy.
And can someone post it somewhere that isn't a torrent? I don't do the torrent thing. : (

    ReplyDelete
  11. i dunno craig, the file is gonna be pretty big if you want to maintain quality. torrents are easy and most cure stuff is shared that way.

is it because you don't know how or don't want to?

it's never too late to learn.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Andy: I used to, but didn't like it. Maybe I need to start it up again.
    : )

    ReplyDelete
  13. wait, you know what. i have a SkyDrive with Windows Live and it holds up to 4GB, i doubt it's gonna be over that. Maybe 1GB max? hopefully?

I can always upload it there afterwards and link it.

    ReplyDelete
  14. 7bluestars,
My dad is super interested in Robert's stickers, and kind of keeps track of them. If you find out more info about them, or a discussion thread, let me know, because I'm sure he'd like to join. Or, you two could just collaborate...

If you're reading this, hi dad, haha.

  16. Tx, g. Of course he's added stars and other heavenly bodies, but there are also statements and I think, a quote or two. I'll email you if I find anything interesting. Maybe I'll google it tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Did anyone else notice that the blue lights saturated the picture on the broadcast? Is it just me? This was a sweet, though!!! I have it on my DVR and will be transfering it DVD soon. It sounds like Andythecurefan will be torrenting it. I'll keep an eye out on dime. Andy did you get it in High Def?

    ReplyDelete
  18. sadly no, i don't own an HD receiver, just an HDTV. if anyone has it in HD, feel free to upload.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Pictures of You wasn't shortened, but Robert did flub up some of the words.

Also kind of surprising they left his F-bomb in there towards the end of the broadcast. hehe

    ReplyDelete
  20. Can i ask you a question? I tried to download some Cure's concerts from DIME using uTorrent, BitLord and BitTorrent, but there are no seeds/peers..i think it's incredible...no-one! Maybe has my computer some problems? Have i to chang some settings?
    Thanx for answers!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Andy-I didn't get it in High Def either. More than likely someone will put it up on Dime from a High Def source. Did you happen to notice the blue saturation shadows on your broadcast. It seems like the Fuse cameras didn't have the right filters on or color balanced correctly. I obsess on that crap.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Sam if there are not any seeders than the torrent is dead and in need of seeders. Unless someone reseeds what you are looking for you will not be able to download it. Let me know if you have any questions about Dime.

    ReplyDelete
  23. actually grindinhalt,
i haven't seen most of it yet. just like 3 songs. i'm more concerned with getting this up online for you guys.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Andy-let me know if you have questions about torrenting video on Dime. I upload audio and video there frequently. If you run into problems I can put mine up if needed.

  26. If anyone on COF who is not too experienced with bittorent and wants an old fashioned DVD *ha ha* of the Fuse show through "snail mail" let me know. You can send me a blank DVD-R with postage and I'll get it to you.

    ReplyDelete
  27. DIME is being picky on me uploading the torrent. I created a torrent of a single file not knowing DIME requires an NFO file also. Just get it on the pirate bay and hopefully DIME will have an HD version soon.

    "Upload action failed!

DIME requires you to include an info file and/or a checksum file to your torrented data. Thus, single file torrents are not permitted."

  28. to GrindingHalt - i'm very interested in your recording. Unfortunately I can't cope with torrents and am from Europe. Is there any possible way for me to get it??? Thanks for your help - I'm really keen on watching it.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Blackmoodswings--it is in NTSC. Will that be a problem for you in Europe with PAL? You can always convert it from NTSC to PAL if needed. I have had to do that with The Cure in Spain MTV Gold broadcast I got. Let me know.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I completely forgot about that. In fact I don't know how to change NTSC in PAL. My DVD player just accepts PAL as I have checked right now :-( Could you explain me how to convert it?
Hopefully you can help me. Thanks a lot and sorry for bothering you.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Andy, you've just made my day.. Thank You !! ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  32. This is awesome, especially for people who don't have access to Fuse. Thanks a million Andy!

    ReplyDelete
  33. andythecurefan, craig - you both rock! Thank you for this torrent. I am now leeching it... and cannot wait to see it!

It is incredible how close is now thecure.com and COF... I am really impressed and more than happy.

    Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Craig, Andy: You guys ROCK!

    ...Hard!

    Thank-you very much!

  35. grindinghalt:
I would love an old-fashioned copy of the Fuse show. Thanks for posting your offer. Every time I try to download anything, I mess it up. Too old, and too stupid. Anyway, if you would send your info to my email address, rob_dorso@msn.com, I'll put a blank dvd-r and some postage out to you.
    Cure fans are so nice!

    RobD.

  36. Hi grindinghalt.

I'd love a copy of the DVD. Please email me info at ckilyanek@aol.com.

    Thanks loads!!

    Carol

    ReplyDelete
  37. What a major let down! I guess I should have know with 1 hour they would compress all the short pop songs! I was hoping to see a real Cure show and wasn't what I was hoping for! Don't waste your time burning to DVD.

    ReplyDelete
  38. andy ; your a star

    ReplyDelete
  39. ps;Are you still seeding andy? it looks like zero seeds and 217 leechers ... nothings coming thru :(

    ReplyDelete
  40. hello grinding halt! I would be interested in getting a copy of this from you. Please email me at beachyxatcomcastdotnet. I missed what Robert said after/before(?) Sleep When I'm Dead. My nephew (with Fuse) was talking. :)

    ReplyDelete
  41. PLEASE SOMEONE SEED THIS AGAIN

    ReplyDelete
  42. I would hardly call it a letdown. What did you expect? We got a fantastic quality recording of Underneath The Stars. That's worth getting this DVD for. To expect anything more than that was kind of silly.

I can provide DVD copies for folks too, so one person doesn't get swamped with everything. Send me a blank and an SASE.

    ReplyDelete
  43. The torrent won't start for me. Is anyone else having problems?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Thanks, Andy, I'm leeching it right now.

I'll get a DVD and postage to you. I'll also send you a "thank you" on DVD.

    THANKS!

  50. Hi Cat,
    How was it?

We were so excited when the sign was spotted on Fuse :)

    ReplyDelete
  51. I downloaded the software and the file, but can't get the file to play. If one of you angels would like to burn a copy for me, please email me at sevenbluestars@gmail.com.

    Thanks so much.

  52. Maceo:
I'm also having a problem with the download, wont even start...

"got bad file info - bad encoded data"

is what bittornado is telling me, very strange...

    ReplyDelete
  53. Right after 'strwaberries & cream,(Push - ~ 40 mins in FUSE broadcast)' you can see a shot of the COF sign folks brought in on the floor for MSG show. Nice publicity!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Would love to get a dvd copy of this please send info to me at elvis6912@aol.com and I will take care of the rest thanks

    ReplyDelete
  55. Those having trouble with this torrent: use uTorrent. You will not be disappointed.

Also, make sure that the correct ports are open (on your router and/or Windows Firewall etc.)

    ReplyDelete
  56. Also, it shows that there is still only one person seeding this file. Please continue to seed after your download has finished so that we can all get it!

    ReplyDelete
  57. More youtube please people! And can we have an MP3/FLAC audio version sometime... XXX

    ReplyDelete
  58. I FINALLY understand what "blah, blah, blah" means. Those text messages were really pissing me off because the texter wasn't clear at all about it.

I have to say I often find Robert a bit hard to understand mostly because of his accent, but also because he slurs a bit in imperfect audio settings. He's quite clear in TV interviews and such. That's okay, though; I'm sure I'd have the same problem.

Oh, and thanks so much for the torrent. It's pretty cool of Fuse, which I don't get in Canada, to show so many new songs. It would be awesome if The Cure released a full concert DVD of this, though!

    ReplyDelete
  59. eep!

Being horribly under-developed computer-wise, I would really appreciate DVD copy if someone could/would make it. I don't know how helpful I could be in return, but I'd give it a shot ;) with at least a few blank DVDs and postage.

Anyone wanna help that's not getting swamped with requests?

    ReplyDelete
  60. I plan to seed after my DL is finished but the DL speeds are sooo slooooow... no idea why. I have the correct ports forwarded on my router and everything. If anybody has any ideas why it's so slow, I'd love to hear them.

    ReplyDelete
  61. i can't fucking wait to see this. hot dayum.

craig, sent you my msg review. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  62. Baby Rag Dog Book rocks. Sounds like the most original thing they've done in years. Closest song I can thing of is Shiver and Shake but it is not very close at all. Excellent!

    ReplyDelete
  63. i've been seeding all night since i started the torrent. and as to why it's so slow, we'll we got 1 seeder to start and 200+ leechers, it only makes sense. one would hope though that those leechers would turn around and seed after their download is done.

later today i am going to upload this to my Windows Live SkyDrive as a direct download and link it to Craig, and it'd be helpful if anyone wanted to download it off my SkyDrive then download the torrent to begin seeding.

Also, to those having problems playing the file, read the description of the torrent on the page, i addressed any of those issues there. and the comments of the torrent of course.

    ReplyDelete
  64. and expect either mp3s or FLAC from me as soon as i figure out how to.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I have emailed all of you who have requested DVD copies. I'm finishing putting the menus etc. on it now. Any others who are interested just post a request here on the blog directed to grindinghalt with your email and I'll get in touch. Take care all.

    ReplyDelete
  66. what program are you using to put this on a DVD grindinghalt?

I was gonna make one for myself using ConvertXtoDVD 3. And I was going to try to make separate chapters for each song.

    ReplyDelete
  67. On my file, the COF sign can be seen at 40 min and 39 seconds in.

  69. Andy, duh, I didn't think about having just one seed would make for slow DL speeds. I'll be happy to seed all night or whatever it takes whenever my DL finishes. Might have to shut everything down soon though cuz I hear thunder!

    ReplyDelete
  70. im trying my best though at uploading.

i've currently got my dad's computer at his house DLing this, and my friend's computer DLing this.

I have multiple computers at my house and I guess I can use them all the seed, but it's the same connection so the speed would just be a third on each computer and not make a difference. hopefully this picks up soon.

  72. Andy-I use Nero. I'll send you a DVD copy with menus/chapters etc if you wish. Save yourself some time since you worked hard and quick to torrent for others on COF. I'm sure you want an uncompressed version for yourself. Let me know. Take care.

  76. anyway..Baby Rag Dog Book is fantastic. Much better than the older version..more clear, better vocals, and guitars louder.

maybe not as good as UTS was..but more original.

    ReplyDelete
  77. dang, just checked my Windows Live SkyDrive

"Upload size is limited to 50 MB per file"

so even though I can store a max of 4GB it's limited by file size per file.

    Lemme look into something else.

    ReplyDelete
  78. uploading to http://fileupload.filetac.com/

expect a direct download link soon in a couple of hours.

and for those downloading the torrent, keep it alive by seeding!

thanks guys (girls too, i was just speaking in general)

    ReplyDelete
  79. Well, that was fun... we lost our power for about an hour due to a storm. But I've got the torrent up and running and it's plugging away again.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Grindinghalt!! Please may I have a copy of the DVD?

Cat: I hope you had a fabulous time!! How *exaclty* were the PHT's and how close were you?

  89. I just uploaded my torrent of the Fuse broadcast to dimeadozen.org for those who are registered users. The DVD has motion menus and chapters. Here is a hint for those of you trying to get a dime account. If it says no spots for registration or something like that keep refreshing on and off for a half an hour or more and spots usually open up as dead accounts drop off.
My username is coolerluzi on dime.

  91. the bitrate on the megaupload download mp3s is 320kbps. sounds good but im not too satisfied where the splitting of tracks were made. i would have included "here's a new one, it's called the perfect boy" or whatever he says, as the intro to the perfect boy, and not the end of pictures of you.

but it was fast. quicker than me.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Cure_kitty

Thanks, I got the correct email now.

    ReplyDelete
  93. andy,

Yes maybe it was too fast and you're right, it would've been better this way, sorry about that ;-)

anyway, thanks again for the video.

    cryptx

    ReplyDelete
  94. not to be taken the wrong way sorry.

im glad it's up though, saves me the trouble. i've spent the past hour splicing tracks and converting stuff.

is there any point in upping this in FLAC even if the source wasn't LPCM audio? or should i just go for mp3?

and also, i made Robert's speech about speaking clearly a track in itself. I've also included an Intro and Outro to the show.

I included Robert's "it comes as such a shock" intro to Friday I'm In Love as part of the track and other differences between yours.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Hey Andy, what's the filesize of your avi? It's telling me it's already 1.8 gigs and I've only DLed 65%! =:O

    ReplyDelete
  96. File size is 1.82GB. when you download a torrent, it tells me the complete file size in Windows Explorer even though it's not done.

but on uTorrent or whatever BitTorrent client you use, it should tell you how much you've downloaded in MB or GB.

    ReplyDelete
  97. No, i don't think there is a point of doing à Flac version since the source is lossy. But you could do your version in mp3 with all the intro/outro and speech stuff, i mean, it's up to you ;-)

    cryptx

    ReplyDelete
  98. alright cryptx.

no hard feelings though that i chose not to download yours. please.

its just that i was already doing this and might as well finish.

i'll post a link to if you wanna check it out.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Andy, after I posted that I answered my own question by looking at your torrent page.

Also, I clicked the microTorrent checkbox for enabling encryption and it increased the DL rate to 70-100.

    ReplyDelete
  100. andy,

There's no hard feeling at all, actually i did this for someone and then i thought that some people could be interested to have it.
Anyway, i'm interested to get your version as well. ;-)

  126. Thank you very much for sharing this wonderful moment with us, Andy and Grinding Halt. I was desperate cuz there was no way for me to watch Fuse TV in Japan. I thought I never could. The files (Yes, I downloaded both.) work perfectly on my PC. Now I need to learn how to make a DVD copy out of them.

  130. Can someone who has successfully downloaded this, post a new BT of it? I've downloaded thousands of live Dead and Phish shows in my day, so there is definitely something that got corrupted in this torrent...

  131. Check the checksum file on the Pirate Bay version.

  132. maceo107 - what's the problem?

i've been uploading this since i posted it the morning after Fuse aired it. this is my baby and i will seed forever...well, at least a couple weeks if not month.

but what is the problem you're having with it?

    ReplyDelete
  133. If anyone is still interested in it, I've re-encoded the original video by andy (thanks again for that!) - cropped the black bars, corrected aspect ratio and compressed it a bit more (although I don't think that it looks that much different). All in all it came up 500MB in size instead of 1.9GB. Audio track is not touched. So, if you're interested, here it is:

I got the DIME version to work after FINALLY getting an account, but there must be something wrong with the checksum file on Pirate Bay. I'm actually surprised to get into DIME, as every time there was a show I wanted, I couldn't get one. I'm PSYCHED to finally have access to so many shows!!!

The audio quality rocks BTW! Thank you so much!

  135. grindinghalt - It seems as though you sent dvds to all who got hold of you by the 21st. is it still possible to have you send one to those who got on this discussion after that??

  140. case - downloaded all 6 rar files, but not sure where to go from here. extracted pt 1, and went to play, but it's only audio, playing on WMP. any help?

  141. extracted all 6 parts, and still only audio no video, though it extracted into an AVI file.

  142. Damn, I'm so sorry, looks like I've forgot to set the FourCC code to the generic XVID and left there the default from ffdshow...so the options right now are - change the FourCC yourself (it's not hard and there are utils that allow that), install ffdshow or wait until I make a "corrected" video and upload it, then download it again...

Once again, I'm really sorry for this, just slipped my mind to check this when encoding :(

    ReplyDelete
  143. Then again, maybe it's not the problem here, it IS set to XVID, sort of...

Anyway, try to download the very small AVI FourCC Changer, extract the avic.exe, run it, open the video and change the FourCC Description code from ffds to either xvid or dx50. If it plays then, I'll make ammends. If not, then the problem is most likely somewhere else...I'm assuming you can play other XVID videos fine?

  145. Is it me or the audio recording of the Fuse thing is... errrr... Well it kinda goes from left to right? I don't know how to put it! When I listen to it, it swirls from one side to the other, as if I was listening to it on a rocking chair! Is it me or what???
