I think it's ridiculous on Robert's part to say that, frankly. That the videos wouldn't be played/seen anywhere. What about YouTube?!?!? Videos on that site get more views than anything in the world!
Siouxsie's new video (which did not get played or shown anywhere else to my knowledge) was put ONLY on YouTube and millions of people have watched it.
The "Mix 13" videos are lame and The Cure need TIM POPE as far as I can see.
I adore those vids Tim Pope made with Cure, and spent a ridiculous amount of time watching them again and again. It's such a pity that they won't be making videos together anytime soon, but somehow I feel that Robert will change his mind in the future. I'm with Tim - someone needs to remind him that YOUTUBE can be your friend.
I hope Robert will, at some point, take all of the videos The Cure's made and release them on one DVD... Like a more comprehensive version of Staring at the Sea: The Images. Or maybe he can just release the aforementioned "Staring at the Sea" on DVD?? I suppose Rob isn't interested in making videos if they're only going to be seen by a Youtube audience? I don't know, I hope that's not the case, anyway.
Speaking of the video collection - didn't they do that for the CD plus DVD edition of Greatest Hits? But of course that's not a complete collection, either. Releasing Staring at the Sea on DVD would be cool, but they need get Orange and Show on DVD first.
IMO, what Tim Pope said doesn't really say why HE won't make Cure videos with the band, just that Robert doesn't want to make any REAL videos. Those last REAL videos like Alt.End, Taking Off, and The End of the World weren't Tim Pope directed.
I want to know why Tim Pope won't make them, not why The Cure won't.
Seems Mr. Pope didn't understand the question.
And I saw The End of the World video all the time. Taking Off and Alt. End were rare to see, but that's not to say I didn't seem them in 2004. I love Taking Off, reminds me of "Honey I Shrunk the Kids":The Cure.
The point of the music video is to promote the song and get people to buy it. Back in the day when MTV showed videos, people would watch and maybe be introduced to The Cure for the first time and buy the record.
With YouTube, the only people who are going to see it are people searching for it, those that are already fans.
While I'd love to see Pope videos for all the new stuff, the fact is that music videos for a band like The Cure are pretty much a waste of money. I think Robert is right on that.
Andy, maybe Tim did understand the question but was being deliberately obfuscate? I do hope Tim and The Cure will work together again in the near future. "Honey I Shrunk the Kids":The Cure.”- LOL, that’s what it reminded me of too!
Jenny- I do have the Greatest Hits on DVD, but it’s not enough! :( I agree, they do need to get on Show and Orange. C’mon Rob! Too many devoted Cure fans want some old material put on DVD!
Helsa - I still remember their *plan* for releasing the remastered albums and the DVDs. But at this point, I'll be happy if all we get is the 30 anniversary DVD next year!
Ironically, seeing Cure vids on TV is never an option for me, because they never play any of it here, not now, not in the future. I'll bet our MTV is the crappiest one in the world. I'll have to see them on YouTube anyway. :/
it could be a trade off by having to release 4 singles in exchange for videos....from a business point of view....you would never know with "MIGHTY" Universal.............
But really, since when has Robert liked making videos? As much as he and Tim Pope do get along, I can remember as far back as Cure Videos go that Robert has never liked making them.
I think that the money it would take to make videos like that now just isn't worth it to him, and I would have to agree. With the internet, Media is completely different now and I think Robert's being smart.
He knows that "Cure TV" or whatever it ends up being is not only going to be better than Music Videos, but more beneficial, and would make us fans very, very happy!
Tim Pope has some surprises up his sleeve for this "Cure Christmas DVD" I'm sure. Just can't wait for the New Album, the 4 tour was awesome, now on w/ the New CURE ALBUM. Thanks for the info Craig.
Meh, I am with Robert on this one... videos are so over anyway. I love The Cure's videos, but really, what is the point. If I were in his position I would far rather make my own. And... being where I am, I would far rather at this point see what they come up with themselves.
i think it's pretty clear that tim pope is miffed by robert's reaction to making videos in general. and its a damn shame because they haven't had a good video since tim pope was on the scene (apart from the 13th and mint car).
the band should just run a contest for fans to make a video, and with technology being what it is today, i bet the fans can come up with far better (for far cheaper) than tim pope.
Anah, I can see your POV. I suppose that, Robert being the consummate business man that he is, sees that the whole "music video landscape" just isn't what it used to be, and that there are more advantageous avenues out there now to pursue.
I thought Robert was just being tongue in cheek about the "CureTV" thing. I hope I’m wrong! *wistfully remembers Curevision* remembers Curevision*
i can see the argument. with the advent of the internet, videos have become more of a collector's novelty than anything. from a business and band point of view, why waste money on a medium that is outdated in all areas other than the sake of added artistic embellishment? the widespread outreach of the internet has kind of killed off the need for video publication that ultimately had the intent of getting prospective buyers into the store to purchase the vinyl or the CD. it's all internet now! and whether that's good or bad? that's anyone's guess.
it's a damn shame that they didn't and won't do real videos for the singles but i can understand the reason. videos are costly and take up time to make and end up being shown only on youtube. for the cure videos are not the marketing tool they once were.
I agree with some of the comments above. With so many ways to disseminate information, videos have little relevance in 2008. Beyond being vanity projects I can't imagine that they have any impact on the consumer market. I love Cure videos, but truth be known, I never even watch the ones I own. When was the last time you sat down and actively looked for videos on television?
OK. Where is my Elise? I need her to think good thoughts for me. I have an interview at 2:00 today. My current job is letting me go in August and I've been worried about what's going to happen then. But this new job would be so perfect for me. For years, I've wanted to work for these people. And the guy seems really interested in me.
I'm a nervous wreck. I haven't had a job interview in almost 11 years. I need some sort of drug.
Dumb Anguish: I hope your interview goes well!! I know it's not quite the same as good thoughts from Elise, but I will be thinking good thoughts for you! :) Job interviews suck, but just take a deep breath and be yourself. And be sure to let us know how it goes!
Dumb Anguish - I'll be thinking good thoughts for you too. :) I was changing jobs a lot during 2006-2007, and I know job hunting can be a torture. Good luck!
Got a question if anyone can answer. I don't have the remastered versions of a couple albums. I don't want to get the double disc remastered though, i just want the single disc. How can i tell if it's remastered or not? if it says ORIGINALLY RELEASED IN 1980-WHATEVER, is that how you can tell?
Yep, still busy - another 10 hour work day, and then I had to go straight out after work. So, I'm feeling a bit sleepy - and then, like you, I am still here
Jenny - my eating habits are awful at the moment - I've been so busy, I have been eating from the vending machines at work - crisps and coke for lunch - I susoect that not all the food groups are represented
Thank you everybody!! This job would be my dream job. I'd probably have to take a little cut in pay, but it would be worth it to work in a totally different atmosphere and be doing something I've always wanted to do.
I just have to find a way to calm my ass down. I have to lay off the bottle caps to avoid an all-out sugar high...You guys ever had that candy? Goodness, that is good stuff!
Shawn-W: i know they have stickers that say remastered but it doesn't actually say it on the front or back cover. The double albums always have stickers on them but i don't think the single discs do. I was looking at my old discs and they don't say ORIGINALLY RELEASED ON such and such date, so i was wondering if that is the way to tell if they are remastered or not.
DA: I changed jobs a year ago because the environment where I worked was really toxic. I had to take a pay cut myself, but it has been so worth it! And I am working in an environment more suited to my temperament, values, and interests. As my mom has said, "psychic income" is worth so much.
The obvious point being - go for it! Carpe Diem etc. etc. And again, just be yourself - that is always the best route in an interview. :-)
Life is too short to spend in a job that you don't like. Money cannot buy happiness. Although, by staying in my job, I am edging ever closer to visiting the states again in 2009
v - it's not the same without a Cure tour. MY life feels completely out of control. I felt so happy when I actually got to chat to everyone last night in the chat room
I don't know, even kindergarten grade songs can be a bit complex for my taste: I find the complexities of "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star"'s melody to be every bit as nauseating as Disintegration is. That Mozart guy must have been a "pretensious" fuck as well!
UM WTF is that vid! Creepy stalkery stuff! Kinda funny, too, though, in a perverse kinda way.
Peeps, I have a lot to do before we head to the airport in a couple of hours, so this is my au revoir for now. I have truly enjoyed being a part of this site for the last few weeks - the tour was intense but mega dork-ass fun! I miss it oh so dearly but feel hopeful they will be back in due time. Also, we gots the album to look foward to, and hopefully other treats as well, so all's good in the Cure Cosmos, I do believe!
I will try to check in from France - after all, I am an internet whore, in case you ain't noticed (my alibi being my webzine) - but in case I can't come here much, I wanted you all to know that Craig ROCKS and alls kindsa rolls and I have enjoyed getting to know some of you virtually or otherwise!
Bon voyage, Cat!!! :) Hope you have a wonderful time, and we look forward to your return to the site, whether it be from France or when you return home!!! Have a safe journey!
and craig- i have LOTS of pics to send you - it will take me days...and i am working on setting up my youtube acct - but hubby is so freakin needy now - but i guess its justified.
he is doing better with his knee now...no surgery hopefully - and hes walking on it now...doc drained a bunch of fluid off it the other day and it actually looks like a normal knee now! yay!
" 4 of 94 people found the following review helpful: 1.0 out of 5 stars Garbage, August 2, 2002 By Da Peace Dogg (Hollywood, California - livin' humble) - See all my reviews Disintegration is right...
The Cure were best when they did fun pop songs, like in the 80's and early 90's! Pop songs are what gets played on radio, and the radio is the only sure sign of what's good in music.
Obviously this album doesn't get played on the radio.
I took a chance with this album, thinking it would feature the "fun" rock side of Robert Smith. Alas, it's totally boring rock. I understand that The Cure wanted to try their talented hands at ethereal rock or whatever, but this stuff just drags on and on and on like a movie or something. Yes, it's very cinematic; cinematic with Smith's mopey vocals, which sound so much better when he's in a good mood. And why wouldn't the guy be in a good mood? HE MAKES MILLIONS OF DOLLARS!! Simply put, this album is too long, too brooding, and too ambitious in scope.
For people in college only.
TAKE CARE!!!"
I was rather amused by a couple of the comments that were left...
"SJPP says: and the radio is the only sure sign of what's good in music....
Idiot"
"Chris G. Tyler says: Five stars for Accept? Five stars for Tim McGraw? Are you serious? If you are expecting Disintigration to sound like those, then you're out of your mind! Just because the album isn't fluffy, poppy dancing music, doesn't mean it's bad. In fact, I would have to say that this is probably in the top 5 most important albums of all time.
Also, this is what The Cure was releasing in the 80's and early 90's. Unless you're only paying attention to "Friday, I'm In Love" and "Just Like Heaven" and if that's the case then you're simply daft. Also, you rated Gwen Stefani over this... get your head checked, mate."
aw man that sucks!! I have an ipod radio adapter i would let u have bc now i have a n aux input but i know you dont have an ipod so that wouldnt work... u should just go to best buy and get a new one...
I don't blame Robert for this choice. Music TV has really declined to the point that it's actually damaging to the human mind; all this reality TV crap and the same awful stuff over and over. I know MTV has been bad for decades, but MuchMusic has reached the same lows and we don't even have VH1 or whatever respectable alternative; MuchMoreMusic is garbage now, too.
I never thought it could get this bad. At least the Bush years had a limit of 8 years; this hasn't.
I agree with Morris, even if I don't like the song, the alt.end video was the best thing in over a decade -- so much better than "The End of the World" with that silly kitchen.
Oh, I didn't get a chance to save bon voyage to Cat. Viva la France!!
I just came back from my interview and I just sent out my thank-you email like they always suggest.
I think I did well in my interview. The good thing is that they want to move quickly...No second interview...And I will find out Monday if I got the job. I want this job so badly. You have no idea how much happier I would be.
We won't talk about how bummed I'll be if I don't get it. I always tend to get my hopes up way too much. I just have to find a way to make myself numb until Monday :)
da - That's great! I will keep my fingers and toes crossed that you get an offer on Monday. A great offer. We'll send good mojo thru the universe for you. No one deserves a job that sucks out your soul (just one of the many here that have been down that road) Good Luck. Numb yourself with your substance of choice!
Had a great offer about a month ago myself and turned it down because of timing and some obligations that I had with my current clients that I had to finish...and they couldn't wait.
So, now that I am free of those obligations, I am kicking myself that I didn't take the offer....but I'd have burned bridges if I had left at that time, so I am hoping that something else comes along soon!
Day 3 of Curevision you can see the old SETI app running on that laptop. Sadly, they're running the screensaver version. Real SETI pros only ran the command line version, as it was tons faster.
What makes Fat Bob's ethusiasm grow is us, I think. So we have to ask him and Tim to do some more incredible stuff. Tim is not making films like Mechel Gondry do, so what's the point of wasting pracious time?
Too bad Robert doesn't want to make any more videos. Freakshow could have been cool if Tim did a video. Something fun, crazy and quirky. But I understand where Robert is coming from. Why spend the money if not video outlet is going to play it but still he could have done something cool for the fans!
aaw thanks, craig
ReplyDeletePap sounds a little upset....
ReplyDeleteWhy is this so familiar? Was this comment discussed in an earlier posting? I remember it from somewhere.
ReplyDeleteI hate most record companies. The Cure should start their own company/distribution so this shit doesnt happen.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's the punk rock in me, but seriously, Fuck the record labels.
Doesn't mean he can't work with Robert with something for the 30th anniversary like was briefly mentioned before...
ReplyDeleteI think it's ridiculous on Robert's part to say that, frankly. That the videos wouldn't be played/seen anywhere. What about YouTube?!?!? Videos on that site get more views than anything in the world!

Tim Pope will be doing something on the DVD.
ReplyDeleteI doubt if he will be involved in the production process (although that would be awesome) but at least he would be interviewed or do a commentary.
...i will admit, i just saw the alt.end video for the first time because it was on the FUSE website thing. And i'm a pretty avid fan.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what the budget is these days for an average video.
Maybe they spent some of that money on those shows that were filmed. (captured?) ((HD)) :)
I adore those vids Tim Pope made with Cure, and spent a ridiculous amount of time watching them again and again. It's such a pity that they won't be making videos together anytime soon, but somehow I feel that Robert will change his mind in the future. Hi Jenny! *pokes upwards* :F
Hiya Helsa! :D
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of the video collection - didn't they do that for the CD plus DVD edition of Greatest Hits? But of course that's not a complete collection, either. Releasing Staring at the Sea on DVD would be cool, but they need get Orange and Show on DVD first.

Jenny- I do have the Greatest Hits on DVD, but it’s not enough! :(
I agree, they do need to get on Show and Orange. C’mon Rob! Too many devoted Cure fans want some old material put on DVD!
What about the "Cure TV" comment Robert made. Maybe there will be something coming, but not necessarily a traditional "real video".
ReplyDeleteHelsa - I still remember their *plan* for releasing the remastered albums and the DVDs. But at this point, I'll be happy if all we get is the 30 anniversary DVD next year!

ReplyDeletethe band should just run a contest for fans to make a video, and with technology being what it is today, i bet the fans can come up with far better (for far cheaper) than tim pope.
ReplyDeleteThe reason "The Pope" (hehe) hasn't made any videos with the band for a long time is because he retired from making videos in the 90's.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't until 2005 when he decided to make music videos again.
Anah, I can see your POV. I suppose that, Robert being the consummate business man that he is, sees that the whole "music video landscape" just isn't what it used to be, and that there are more advantageous avenues out there now to pursue.
ReplyDeleteI thought Robert was just being tongue in cheek about the "CureTV" thing. I hope I’m wrong! *wistfully remembers Curevision*

ReplyDeletespot on!
ReplyDeleteHi all,
ReplyDeleteThis is just a quick hello to say I have been missing you all :(
It has been EXTREMELY busy in my world, and the time differences between Oz and you all makes it hard to keep in touch.
Hopefully I will be able to catch up with you this weekend.
sofia are you saying that teotw video wasn't good? it's brilliant!
ReplyDeleteit's a damn shame that they didn't and won't do real videos for the singles but i can understand the reason. videos are costly and take up time to make and end up being shown only on youtube. for the cure videos are not the marketing tool they once were.
ReplyDeletecome on Robert - get the tracklisting out mate!
ReplyDeleteElise! Hope you finally get some well-deserved rest this weekend. Talk to you soon :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with some of the comments above. With so many ways to disseminate information, videos have little relevance in 2008. Beyond being vanity projects I can't imagine that they have any impact on the consumer market. I love Cure videos, but truth be known, I never even watch the ones I own. ReplyDeleteI'm a nervous wreck. I haven't had a job interview in almost 11 years. I need some sort of drug.
We are all rooting for you anguish. Best of luck in your new job (as you WILL get it)!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteDumb Anguish: I hope your interview goes well!! I know it's not quite the same as good thoughts from Elise, but I will be thinking good thoughts for you! :) Job interviews suck, but just take a deep breath and be yourself. And be sure to let us know how it goes!
ReplyDeleteInternet Killed the Video Star? Hmm.
ReplyDeleteOh, by the way, Curevision is still up. You just need to know where to look...
DA - Even if we don't get to catch up here, I am sending good vibes to the universe for your job interview!
ReplyDeleteHi Elise!!!!
ReplyDeleteDumb Anguish - I'll be thinking good thoughts for you too. :) I was changing jobs a lot during 2006-2007, and I know job hunting can be a torture. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteHey V! How are you?
ReplyDeleteGot a question if anyone can answer. I don't have the remastered versions of a couple albums. I don't want to get the double disc remastered though, i just want the single disc. How can i tell if it's remastered or not? if it says ORIGINALLY RELEASED IN 1980-WHATEVER, is that how you can tell?
ReplyDeleteSo Elise and V are both here now? Hi!!!
ReplyDeleteElise: Busy, busy (yet still here I am - hah)! :) And you?
ReplyDeleteHi Jenny!! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Jenny.
ReplyDeleteYep, still busy - another 10 hour work day, and then I had to go straight out after work. So, I'm feeling a bit sleepy - and then, like you, I am still here
Hey V! Are you at work? It's Friday night here and I'm enjoying the best night of the week.
ReplyDeleteJenny - I had some of the caramel candy today - YUMMY! I haven't tried the wafers yet. I'll have them with a morning tea cuppa tomorrow
ReplyDeleteIf anyone is interested, that chat room that Rev. Heron set up for us is here:

Would love to have some company. :)
Jenny: Yep, I'm at work! Working really hard, as you can tell... ;) I do have a lot to do, but that never stops me from "multi-tasking". :D
ReplyDeletecorrosive, it's pretty easy. It'll say right on it that it's been digitally remastered.
ReplyDeletegood luck, dumb anguish. i know how nerve wracking interviews can be. just be yourself and you'll do fine. :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm in the chat room too. That's my multi-tasking for the evening.
ReplyDeleteSad thing is, I can't access the chatroom from work :(
Elise - so glad to hear that! :) I grew up eating the caramel candy, it always reminds me of my childhood. It's my all-time favorite.
ReplyDeleteTea with the wafer would be a great idea. It will go with coffee perfectly, too :)
Food talk before going to bed...not very wise for me.
Jenny - my eating habits are awful at the moment - I've been so busy, I have been eating from the vending machines at work - crisps and coke for lunch - I susoect that not all the food groups are represented
ReplyDeleteV - I *multi-task* a lot at work, too! LOL. Good luck with your work!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to join the chat room, but my eyes are closing. Need to go to bed. Talk to you all soon :)
*gives Jenny a hug good-bye*
ReplyDeleteSweet dreams, Jenny! :)
ReplyDeletev - any plans for the weekend?
ReplyDeleteThank you everybody!! This job would be my dream job. I'd probably have to take a little cut in pay, but it would be worth it to work in a totally different atmosphere and be doing something I've always wanted to do.
ReplyDeleteI just have to find a way to calm my ass down. I have to lay off the bottle caps to avoid an all-out sugar high...You guys ever had that candy? Goodness, that is good stuff!
DA - I haven't heard of bottle caps - what are they like?
ReplyDeleteIt will be ok, anguish!
ReplyDeleteShawn-W: i know they have stickers that say remastered but it doesn't actually say it on the front or back cover. ReplyDeleteI miss Craig - I don't think I have spoken to him this week :( Apart from an email, which isn't the same as this
ReplyDeletebottle caps rock. i wish they still sold those around here. they probably do. good thing i haven't found them.
ReplyDeleteHi MB - how are you?
ReplyDelete*beats MonkeyButt over the head with a sack filled with doorknobs*
ReplyDeleteElise: Craig has been very quiet in the comments section this week! It's not the same without him here.
v - it's not the same without a Cure tour. MY life feels completely out of control. I felt so happy when I actually got to chat to everyone last night in the chat room
ReplyDeletewoo hoo - Interpol playing on late night music - Rage
ReplyDeletegood night all - I can't keep my eyes open any longer.
ReplyDeletemaybe i'll catch you tomorrow morning (my time) tonight (your time)
hey everyone! i thought these reviews were pretty funny.
ReplyDeletethanks, v, for the html!
Sweet dreams, Elise!! *hugs*
ReplyDeleteyay! it worked!
ReplyDeleteMonkeyButt!!! I'm so proud of you!!! :')
ReplyDeletesee ya v & mb
ReplyDeleteyou get all the credit.
ReplyDeletebye elise.
ReplyDeleteLol, those reviews are priceless, MonkeyButt.
ReplyDeletei know. i love this comment: "Middle class anxieties and broken relationships are not heavy emotions; it's normal life experience."
ReplyDeletethis guy must really be great to be in a relationship with.
Yeah, that's a good one. ;)
ReplyDeleteI think this was my fave from that guy's review: "They add complex melodies just to show how pretensious [sic] they are."
Funny stuff.
lol, that's great. so you can only be a real musician if your arrangements and melodies are kindergarten grade? fabulous.
ReplyDeleteI don't know, even kindergarten grade songs can be a bit complex for my taste: I find the complexities of "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star"'s melody to be every bit as nauseating as Disintegration is. That Mozart guy must have been a "pretensious" fuck as well!

ReplyDeleteUm...WTF?!?!?!? :) That is so funny, yet so creepy. I can't stop laughing - or watching.
ReplyDeleteI had to turn the sound off, though. I don't want any kind of creepy associations with NYT. No way. :)
ReplyDeletei know. i'm half convinced that's some weirdo 40 year old goth dude that dressed up like robert smith. it's pretty bizarre.

ReplyDeletePeeps, I have a lot to do before we head to the airport in a couple of hours, so this is my au revoir for now.
Take care and see you soon-ish. :-)
Bon voyage, Cat!!! :) Hope you have a wonderful time, and we look forward to your return to the site, whether it be from France or when you return home!!! Have a safe journey!

Disintegration is right...
"SJPP says:
and the radio is the only sure sign of what's good in music....
Idiot"
"Chris G. Tyler says:
Five stars for Accept?
Haha.
sara - i replied to your email...
ReplyDeleteTIM TAMS ARE IN!!!!!!!!
i tasted one and they are TO DIE FOR!!!
dont worry i wont eat them all - ill bring them with me on monday - and we could easily eat the ENTIRE PACKAGE!!

ReplyDeletesweet.....omg where has elise been?? i havent talked to her in a couple of days!!!
ReplyDeleteshawn - interesting...
ReplyDelete"and the radio is the only sure sign of what's good in music...."
this person is DEFINITELY an IDIOT!
*shakes head and hangs head - fearful of the future of music*
and which album is this a review of?
i hardly even listen to the radio bc a lot of times nothings good on...
ReplyDeletei have to listen to the radio in my car for now...my cd player is still jacked up - and freakshow is still stuck in there! :(
ReplyDeleteso i mainly listen to classic rock in my car now...its about all i can stand...
i really need to get my cd player fixed! GAH!
aw man that sucks!! I have an ipod radio adapter i would let u have bc now i have a n aux input but i know you dont have an ipod so that wouldnt work... u should just go to best buy and get a new one...
ReplyDeleteI don't blame Robert for this choice.
ReplyDeleteI never thought it could get this bad. At least the Bush years had a limit of 8 years; this hasn't.
I agree with Morris, even if I don't like the song, the alt.end video was the best thing in over a decade -- so much better than "The End of the World" with that silly kitchen.
ReplyDeleteChristina, that was for Disintegration.
ReplyDeleteOh, I didn't get a chance to save bon voyage to Cat. Viva la France!!
ReplyDeleteI just came back from my interview and I just sent out my thank-you email like they always suggest.
ReplyDeleteThank you Thistle!
ReplyDeleteI tell you. You managed to describe my current job situation for the past two years in just four short words: "sucks out your soul"
Amen and hallejulah to that! :)
Good luck, DA...we're pulling for you too :)
ReplyDeleteHad a great offer about a month ago myself and turned it down because of timing and some obligations that I had with my current clients that I had to finish...and they couldn't wait.
So, now that I am free of those obligations, I am kicking myself that I didn't take the offer....but I'd have burned bridges if I had left at that time, so I am hoping that something else comes along soon!
curevision?
ReplyDeleteDay 3 of Curevision you can see the old SETI app running on that laptop. Sadly, they're running the screensaver version. Real SETI pros only ran the command line version, as it was tons faster.
ReplyDeleteYes, this review made me seriously LOL:
ReplyDelete"Obviously this album doesn't get played on the radio.

Disintegration? ROFLMFAO@the poor, demographically average chump. Heh. :^D
What makes Fat Bob's ethusiasm grow is us, I think. So we have to ask him and Tim to do some more incredible stuff. Tim is not making films like Mechel Gondry do, so what's the point of wasting pracious time?
ReplyDeleteI think you may be right, but calling him "Fat Bob" doesn't strike me as a great starting position for such an enterprise... 8^P
ReplyDeleteToo bad Robert doesn't want to make any more videos. Freakshow could have been cool if Tim did a video. Something fun, crazy and quirky. But I understand where Robert is coming from. Why spend the money if not video outlet is going to play it but still he could have done something cool for the fans!
