I must stop watching the Freakshow video. But he is way too darling in it.
Elise: Yes, it is WONDERFUL to be at home, doing NOTHING, for a few days. Actually, I have a TON to do - my yard is a MESS - and I have doc appts, etc. But somehow it will get done. Then I leave for Le France on Friday.
Missing The Cure and Tom Waits immensely, but dealing with it by watching videos. Must find some Waits vid now.
hey got a question, if anyone knows the answer that would be great. There is a Cure dvd called ROCK MASTERS: THE CURE live concert filmed in 1984 at the Barrowlands in Glasgow, Scotland. I have seen it online but the availabiity date is unknown... does anyone know when this is to be released ??
CHP - This DVD's been announced for YEARS, if not DECADES! lol Read the comments on Amazon... You can order it but you'll apparently never get it.
Hi all btw! Yes, back from NYC! Will soon send my review to Craig to post on COF! Still writing it so... it'll be later this week! I hope everyone had a good time for the last two shows of the tour :o)
Thanks peeps! So glad you enjoyed the videos almost as much as we enjoyed getting the footage for you all. I've got more soundcheck goodies in the pipeline, but I can't upload from work.
Maree, I think it was something along the lines of "OMG" over and over again!
Cure Kitty, we took advantage of the fact that nobody looks at middle-aged ladies and sees obsessive fangirls :D
Hey, Rev... I checked out your flicker page for MSG. You got a great photo of me and my hubby at the pre-meet. Would you mind sending the original to me? We would love to have a copy of it in our album. :)
My e-mail is KateAtCOF [at] zygotestar [dot] com
We still haven't posted our stuff, but hope to soon!
veru cool! Finally get to see the offstage clothing RS brought for the tour. Did he pick up the camo trousers while he was here....or did those come in the carry on bag as well? :)
Now reeling from both Cure and Waits. My mind is so confused when I was sleeping I had dreams that I met RS at a Tom Waits show. RS was crying, as was I literally when Tom Waits appeared on stage.
If anyone is curious about what the fuss is about over Waits, check him out on YouTube. The "God's Away On Business" video is pretty ace and there is some great footage of him live recently, and reaching all the way back to the 70s, when he got his start.
So How cool it is to learn That Simon isn't putting on a show Thats just how he plays. With a Dance in his step and a grove in the heart ;-) Too Cute. Very cool to see the casual soundcheck but to realise that after all these years, just how much they give in a performance.
Thanks Rev! major green over here But so glad you put these up!!!
yes, rev has caught some awesome shots and vid and is very generous in sharing them with the cure masses.
anah, robert is childlike to me in how he expresses his adoration for what he does. it's uncanny that after all these years, he's still so "stunned" by it all.
maree-dork, it's not that, it's that robert has a rather thick regional accent, and he does indeed swallow some of his words when he talks. he also speaks fast. it's just his style of speaking, which is fine by me, but it can be frustrating! hell, i speak very fast and people sometimes have a hard time following, so i have to be vigilant and slow down. it's no biggie, in the end, and in all actuality i find it rather amusing. oh, and i have heard some brits express the same frustration.
rev---great tactic for getting into soundcheck! Same thing worked for me for getting in backstage to a few shows I went to for other bands. Way cool for you & sugar girl to get to see it.
Heh, Rev, you were teh stealth, huh? What are you guys whispering about? :^D
ReplyDeletetres cool - thanks!
ReplyDeleteon my flight home from houston, i slept and UTS was cycling through my head *repeatedly*

Oh, don't get me started on Tom Fucking Waits!
ReplyDeleteDecimated all my regrets for missing RCMH.
He is the ONLY person who could help me get over my Cure blues.
Is it nice to be home again.... if only for a short while (before you jet of to viva le france)?
ReplyDeleteGreat video rev! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHow did you get into MSG before the show to see this???

ReplyDeletei heard. "who was that talking" ??
ReplyDeletewe will get to the bottom of the creepy whispering if its the last thing we do.

"Fucking Amazing".
ReplyDeleteThat video made me so happy...
To see that Robert gets the same amount of love and pleasure (Cat: shhh!) from live performances that we do just makes me smile!
Rev. You're my new hero!
yes, rev has caught some awesome shots and vid and is very generous in sharing them with the cure masses.
ReplyDeleteanah, robert is childlike to me in how he expresses his adoration for what he does. it's uncanny that after all these years, he's still so "stunned" by it all.
also, though, i understand very little of robert's mumbling in the "fucking amazing" clip. thanks for transcribing what you could.
ReplyDeleteRobert's child-likeness is one of the most enduring traits about him. The fact that he remains like this after so many years warms my heart.

Thanks, Rev. I love the F'ing amazing video. He's so cute it makes my heart hurt.
