YOUR EXCLUSIVE PRIORITY IS NOW OPEN!
As a friend of Sydney Opera House who lives outside NSW, we wanted to give you extra time to book your flights and accommodation to this memorable event. 2. Well this was a huge surprise!

    ReplyDelete
  3. i just placed an order for 4 on the 1st night and 1 on the 2nd night, will my order get rejected ??

    ReplyDelete
  4. Yeah, this was the link that was sent to paid subscribers; I found it last week and have been refreshing the page nonstop before they went on sale this morning.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Twitch: I'm not sure. It says strictly limited to 4 for the entire event, not per night, so I don't know.

    ReplyDelete
  6. so grinderman you think the link should have been restricted to members ? My order is showing as confirmed ? What do you think will happen ?

    ReplyDelete
  7. yay!!! got tickets!!! wooo hoooooooo sooooooooo excited!!!!! yay

    ReplyDelete
  8. I got an extra ticket for both nights. I will be in Sydney the 30 May. I am coming from Canada thru San Francisco. Let me know if someone wants them at face value, preferable to someone who is traveling to Sydney as they most likely bought plane tickets (like me) before having a concert ticket. Fuck Yeah!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Oh, you think this might have been a mistake? That this shouldn't have been sent to everyone?

    ReplyDelete
  10. I got 1 ticket for each night. I'm very excited. I'm traveling from Florida to Sydney.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Craig - please can you point me to where is has the strict limit for the event of 4 total over the 2 nights ?

    ReplyDelete
  12. So happy for everyone who got in!

Shawn: I know someone who would want it. He's in San Fran. Can I offer it to him?

    ReplyDelete
  13. twitch: It should work fine, it's just that the paid subscribers were sent the link first.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Twitch: It was in the email they sent with the links:

  15. grinderman - so you think they fact I ordered 4 on the 1st night and 1 on the 2nd should be ok ?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Am I stupid for buying only 1 ticket? I don't know anyone in Australia to invite, so I figured I would just get it for me!

    ReplyDelete
  17. that's great, but at the same time sucks.

    ReplyDelete
  18. faaaarkkk... Im IN , night 2!! howw long does it take for the confimration email to come though though?? i havent received it yet...

    ReplyDelete
  19. ml68 - I got my email confirmation within a minute

    ReplyDelete
  20. No, Mike. That's what the Australian fans are asking us to do. Just get what we need and leave the rest.

    ReplyDelete
  21. It's letting me buy two tickets...not the greatest but I'll get them anyway I guess

    ReplyDelete
  22. thanks twitch, now Im worried...no email...all went through fine but...

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yay!! 2 tickets for the first night! This is crazy, don't think I can handle this amount of ticket stress!!!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Good Luck to everyone, this will sell out so quickly!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Thanks, Craig. That's just what I did. I hope there will be some meetups in Australia for U.S. people like me traveling to see them. Craig, why aren't you going?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Mike: We are going to plan all of the meetups and stuff after everyone gets their tickets and travel arranged.

I'm not going because of the expense and the travel time involved. Just not doable right now.

    ReplyDelete
  27. 2 tickets for the 1st night, up in the circle was the best available - second night has sold out...i live in Sydney...

    ReplyDelete
  28. Craig - thanks for the email, I think I might call the Opera house and speak to them before they try and cancel my order.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Craig, sounds good. My email address is darklighthouse@hotmail.com

Does he want both or just one? May 31 - M37/38 and 1 June M27/28 @ 139.00 each. I am picking them up at the venue, so we will need to meet before hand. Cheers!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Thanks Craig, don't think I would have known anything with COF ;)
God this is so much worse than 2007, Got presale for the first night in Sydney, then grabbed tickets straight away for the 2nd night.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Will email him now. If he didn't get them just now, he'll probably want them both. Will let you know as soon as I hear from him. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I was so nervous I wasn't going to get tickets to go. I mean, I already booked my flight to Sydney. But I was waiting by the computer like a madman and boom! I'm on the floor/stalls for both nights, same exact seat if you can believe it. This is going to be amazing. I already can't wait to buy the DVD also.

    ReplyDelete
  33. has anyone else not received a receipt email from the opera house? my order went though and i got an order number etc, just no confirmation receipt email...my email addy is correct on the order, I checked...

    ReplyDelete
  34. You should email them and ask for the receipt to be resent

    ReplyDelete
  35. No, I got an email and it's already pending in my bank account, I'm sure you'll get your's soon!
    Mike - you're so lucky!

    ReplyDelete
  36. thanks grinderman...im thinking of just giving them a ring actually, to make sure! is there a ticket hotline or such like? any info appreciated, thanks mate.

    M

  37. +61 2 9250 7777 is the box office line, or bookings@sydneyoperahouse.com for the email address

    ReplyDelete
  38. Good for you guys, I hope, no I know you will have a great time!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Got some. (right at the back, but I'm a lucky SOB)

    ReplyDelete
  40. That is fantastic, Mike! So glad you were able to get them!

    ReplyDelete
  41. So now I am Nervous b/c it allowed me to make TWO purchases.

I have 4 each night... hummmm.

    ReplyDelete
  42. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  43. what is everyone thoughts.

I purchased 5 in total , 4 for 1st night and 1 for the 2nd night as going with friends 1st night and on my own the 2nd night.

I got all the tickets as my other mates weren’t online.

I know the email that was sent out which I didn’t see until after I booked said 4 in total over the 2 nights.

Do people think they cancel my whole order or should it be fine ?

The blurb on the booking page just states “4 tickets per customer”

This is slightly different from what is said on the email of 4 over the 2 night.

    Very worried now !

    Any advise would be great.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I got a confirmation email instantly, but I rang to confirm anyway as it is all still just like a dream LOL

Dont forget if you dont get tickets today, they are holding some back for the general sale on Thursday at 9am sharp :)

    ReplyDelete
  45. Craig, I got Stall tickets too,(thanks to my wife) so looks like I will be able to offer both side by side seats for each night. M27/28 and M37/38.

    ReplyDelete
  46. KelBel - Think we are the same boat here ! The order page only specified the limit was for that night but the email that was sent out had in brackets over the 2 night.......

    ReplyDelete
  47. Nooooo can"t belive I missed this! So happy for all who did manage to get tix…will try my luck on Thursday

    ReplyDelete
  48. Now I'm confused. This wasn't the pre-sale, right? That is still happening sometime on the 11th, right?

    ReplyDelete
  49. @ Linda, if you do have a spare 2 I'd be more than happy take them off your hands…

    ReplyDelete
  50. kelbel, twitch - same here! The fine print even states: "Ticket purchase is subject to a strict limit of 4 tickets per customer. We reserve the right to cancel tickets purchased in excess of this per customer limit." Aaagh

    ReplyDelete
  51. Guys, try calling the Opera House and make sure you're okay!

    ReplyDelete
  52. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  53. ok, rang up and all good...im there on the 1st june...THANK YOU GUYS!!! unbelievable...i cant say thanks enough for this website and all the hard work that goes into it...

ALSO, the woman said - get there on time...because its filmed, theres a chance they'll shut the doors at 7PM for the first hour!! she said be there well before 7pm!

    cheers guys!

    M

    ReplyDelete
  54. Excellent news, ml68! Very glad you're in!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Calling the Opera House now to confirm presale tomorrow still - because of the fact that it allowed me to buy tickets even though I'm local kind of confuses the whole thing

    ReplyDelete
  56. Yeah, it's a bit confusing. The email did say it was for those traveling from outside of NSW, so maybe this was separate from the regular pre-sale.

    ReplyDelete
  57. @Brendan,
So sorry they have gone already

    ReplyDelete
  58. The SOH said it was a "priority sale"

    ReplyDelete
  59. Talked to an extremely nice woman on the hotline - she said that there still is a presale tomorrow, but because i've already bought 2 tickets for the FIRST NIGHT, i can only buy 2 more tickets for either night...they're not aware of the presale time until vivid releases the email to everyone
Also, she was extremely shocked that I live in Sydney and it let me buy tickets...very shocked

    ReplyDelete
  60. Okay, thank you so much for calling and confirming that! But you are okay, right? Not a problem with you buying from Sydney today?

    ReplyDelete
  61. When i tried to get the tickets sometimes the page would come up with no more seats available and others it would come up with seats, so some of you still might be able to get some tickets now, maybe, hopefully

    ReplyDelete
  62. And thank you so much to everyone who is helping out with this. You are making a lot of people very happy!

    ReplyDelete
  63. for those of you that purchased more than 4 over the 2 nights I am on the telephone now finding out our options and will report back.

    ReplyDelete
  64. She was probably surprised you found out about it, the email with the link only officially made its way to paid subscribers and people who live outside NSW. Presale tomorrow will more than likely be 9am, so you should have that link open at 8.58am and refresh it every few seconds.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Thank you, twitch! So nervous about that.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Yeah, she confirmed it and everything, she was like 'you're supposed to tell me that' when I said I wasn't from Sydney so I think in general she was worried.
I'm going to have to work out a way around the limit of 4 tickets, I'm only getting one ticket for the 2nd show (I'll be by myself) but want to try again for the first night and see how I go

    ReplyDelete
  67. They guy i spoke to at SOH was also surprised at how i found out about the 'priority sale'. He was trying to get me to tell him, how i did but i didn't!!

    ReplyDelete
  68. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  69. There's a presale at Ticketmaster Australia, too! But you need a password.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Having been confused and panic, I rang Opera House and this extremely nice guy told me there would be pre-sale starting from 9am (in Australia) tomorrow. Hope I can get the tickets this time.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Guys, ok, bad news, anyone who has purchased more than 4 tickets over the 2 nights will have anything over the 4 refunded. Not sure what order they will do it in.

I found this out just now as I got 5 over the 2 nights.

I managed to conference I my missus on the line while I was on the phone to the box office. She was able to give her card details on and have the 5th ticket moved to her name.

I suggest anyone who got more then 4, get on the phone with a friend or have a friend you can conference it ASAP.

    Good luck everyone !!

    ReplyDelete
  72. Just called the box office and was told as well that any seat beyond the 4-seat limit per customer would be cancelled, most likely starting with the latest purchase - if you placed two separate orders of 4 seats like I did, you should keep only the first one.

We're in the process of trying to get the second order transferred to a friend of mine, now.

The general sale will go as planned and people who still need tickets are advised to try then - but not the same people, the 4-seat limit still holds!

    ReplyDelete
  73. I called the Box office and they let me Cancel one of the SETS of 4. Otherwise they said they would have canceled it... I got to choose which ones to keep.

    ReplyDelete
  74. So excited got my one ticket for the first night (can't do 2nd unfortunately)Box C was best available but I would take anything anyway. Flying in from Tas. Craig it's been said before but thank you so much for your time and effort. This is making many people happy. For those unlucky so far... hang in there. I think "outside NSW" pre-sale was sent to those that signed up to the SOH page when doing a trial booking run. Nothing yet from modular or vivid - i think that will still happen tomorrow??

    ReplyDelete
  75. I got it.... and still can't quite believe.

I was actually ringing up to enquire when the presale went on sale tomorrow. And because I live in Queensland, I was offered tickets there and then.

I had actually set myself up to be disappointed at missing out.

Now I am a little stunned that I am actually going

    Curt

    ReplyDelete
  76. GAH! good luck, you guys! hope everyone (we like) can get a seat!

    ReplyDelete
  77. I wonder how you can get that Ticketmaster password? I get regular emails from them but nothing about this!

    ReplyDelete
  78. hey theseashallnothavethem, im in the same position...completely stunned...
Ive never done so little during working hours and achieved so much...

    :)

    ReplyDelete
  79. Do you reckon the 4 ticket limit per customer would affect two customers using the same credit card for purchase?

    ReplyDelete
  80. WallyD - I think it will. When I ran up and got my 5th ticket moved to my missus the guy on the phone said she had to use her own credit card and could not use my one.

I would get on the phone to them.

    ReplyDelete
  81. congratulations to everybody with tickets! i definitely did not expect any sort of presale so soon (not that i'm going). all of that seems to have happened so fast! everybody have a blast, and hopefully anyone still without tickets gets some tomorrow or thursday. good luck!

    ReplyDelete
  82. Wally: the name the order is in is meant to match the credit card. If 2 separate accounts were used to purchase the tickets on the Opera House site it should be fine. I can't be certain though.

    ReplyDelete
  83. wow as this is getting closer and more real, i'm getting a lot more excited about it. can't wait for the DVD/hopefully some sort of glimpse of the show before then.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Okay, guys, where do we stand with any extra tickets? Anyone have one extra for each night?

Have a desperate friend in Germany who has already booked his flight, missed this sale, and is now worried. Told him he still has 2 more shots to get them, but just wanted to check and see if anyone still has extras. Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Craig, After I sort out the mess with the tickets I bought beyond the 4 seat limit then I will have one extra premium seat for each night.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Thank you, Olivier! I will let Sven know there's hope!

    ReplyDelete
  87. Ticketmaster Australia codeword:

    VISITORVIVID

    ReplyDelete
  88. Awesome!!! Good luck getting tickets, guys! :)

    ReplyDelete
  89. Tickets are still available on Ticketmaster!

    ReplyDelete
  90. So I have 1 seat for the second night - seat 26 in the stalls row H...do I get it?
    http://www.sydneyoperahouse.com/uploadedFiles/Events/Seating_Plans/Content_AboutUs_SeatingPlanConcertHall.pdf
    helllppp

    ReplyDelete
  91. I would! Remember, first row is D, so that's really 5th row.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Done :) Quite content with second night now...now that leaves me free to try again for the first night. Ahhh feel so relieved haha

    ReplyDelete
  93. Thank you very very much for the code, Damon.
I could get the tickets for both nights. : )

    ReplyDelete
  94. Tickets still available via Ticketmaster!

I sit in the US and was able to pull 4 tickets for each night (didn't buy them tho, as I will not be attending the shows) but they **are** available, so go get 'em y'all!

Good luck and congrats to those who will be able to attend!

    ReplyDelete
  95. Excellent news, Junko! And very happy for you, too, lc988!

    ReplyDelete
  96. Have to say this is working out much better than I thought it would. Really feared no one would be able to get tickets.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Great Job, Craig!

Without you and the teamwork of everyone on COF, this would have **never** happened!

    Thanks Craig!

    Thanks Grinderman!

    Long live COF!

    ReplyDelete
  98. so, anyone have an extra ticket just for the first night?

    ReplyDelete
  99. Oh, and thanks to Damon, too, for the Ticketmaster Password!

April: You can still purchase via TicketMaster if you need a ticket. Good Luck ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  100. It seems Ticketmaster limits 4 tickets for each evening, not for the entire event. I could buy 2 for the 1sr night and 4 for the 2nd night. Or are they going to ask me to return 2 of them later?

    ReplyDelete
  101. I was just able to pull row M for 2nd night and row R for first night!

    ReplyDelete
  102. Thank you so much, sugar*girl. Just so happy that fans were able to get tickets. Now to hope our European friends wake up in time to get some from TM.

    ReplyDelete
  103. i know sugar, I'm just looking for something that's not waaay in the back

    ReplyDelete
  104. Yes, April, go to the TM link now!

    ReplyDelete
  105. Junko - The Opera house site also let you purchase 4 per night so I would call ticketmaster and confirm as most likely the limit is imposed by the promoter.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Can't thank you all enough, couldn't have done it without all the info craig, grinderman & others have posted just scored 4 tix for both shows (me & a mate teamed up) best birthday present ever!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  107. I know April, but ck out TicketMaster.

I was able to pull Row M in the Stalls just now, on either night( which are pretty good seats!)

They **are** there...go get 'em sweetie! Good luck and safe travels!

    ReplyDelete
  108. Excellent, Brendan! Happy Birthday!

    ReplyDelete
  109. thx craig! I guess I am just being picky...I probably shouldn't be

    ReplyDelete
  110. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Thanks so much Damon for the TM code, life saver!

Can now get better seats for the first night instead of up the back...don't know what I should do once again haha

    ReplyDelete
  112. Row M would be so appropriate for these shows. : )

    ReplyDelete
  113. @Craig:

Thrilled that this is working out so well for everyone! Even tho I am not going, and am still sooooo excited for everyone else!

And I hear you about our European/UK friends.

Also wondering about some our our Aussie friends like Fuji, Elise, etc? Wondering if they got tix yet?

Hope everyone who needs a ticket gets one, but I truly believe that all things *do* work together for good and that everyone who is supposed to be there will be ;-).

And on a personal note, Thanks again for EVERYTHING you do to keep is informed. Sometimes, it can be a thankless job, but YOU and everything you do is greatly appreciated!

Thank you, Craig, for everything, but especially for your efforts and for the amazing community you have built who can accomplish amazing things!

    ReplyDelete
  114. Sugar: Yeah, checked with Jo earlier, and they all got tickets. I think everyone is going! : )

Thank you again for such kind words. Sincerely appreciate them.

    ReplyDelete
  115. I have 2 tickets spare if anyone misses out....

    ReplyDelete
  116. I have a ticket for the 2nd show P-30 stalls for face value

    email me

    * Hi Junko, it's Sarah from the Pearl show :)

    ReplyDelete
  117. Box b seat seat 57 and box v 57 :)

    ReplyDelete
  118. @Craig: Yay for the Aussies (thx for the update, Craig), and for everyone else who will be attending this amazing event!

And you're welcome, Craig. We really <3 you and everything you do! Hope to meet you in person someday (and buy you a drink or two), lest you remain the international man of mystery behind the COF curtain ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  119. When I tried ticketmaster the first time it gave me row F!
But I already had a ticket a couple of rows back from that and more centre so I'm happy with what I've got now, will stop looking at tickets...
I actually think the first 3 rows might get an obstruction from cameras as they are filming? This kind of show, you want to be able to see the whole stage from a little distance.
Glad to hear so many of you now have tickets, Hooray!

    ReplyDelete
  120. Hi Sarah!!! Didn't know it was you. Hope to see you at Opera House! :D

    ReplyDelete
  121. Junko - yes I am going! So excited!! :D Yes, I hope we can meet again!

    ReplyDelete
  122. Hey goodcraic, I'm 3 seats over.

    It will be great

    ReplyDelete
  123. Wally D -Yay - it will be great :))

    ReplyDelete
  124. Yay! JC/Perfect.Murder is in!

"The party it just gets better and better!" : )

    ReplyDelete
  125. Craig, can you start a pre-show CoF meet thread so we can plan a big reunion for all the peeps? Since we all have assigned seating there won't be any queue nastiness and we can just relax and chill before the show.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Heron: Yeah, already planned to get that going after we deal with all of the ticket stuff. So I should have that up on Wednesday night.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Hey, yes i'm going!...well i mean i have tickets, i have applied for a visa, i have a friend's sofa or floor for 3 nights, just need flights now...Craig how about a page for flights?Only joking!:)

    ReplyDelete
  128. Hey, whatever would help you guys out! I'm open to anything. : )

    ReplyDelete
  129. if anyone has a spare ticket i will buy it! please help me! on one of the night or both! antti.hietamaki@gmail.com

  131. Tickets are still available at Ticketmaster! Go!

    ReplyDelete
  132. Antti: Also look at the comments above. Two people selling extra tickets.

    ReplyDelete
  133. It's a little crazy how easy it was to get tickets pre-pre-presale!

    ReplyDelete
  134. i got tickets through TM!! god i was panicking!

    ReplyDelete
  135. thank you craig for everything!!

    ReplyDelete
  136. Yeah Rev, that's true...we misread the small print...we're seeing the Recur!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  137. You're welcome, Antti. Glad you got in! Glad everybody seems to have gotten in. : )

    ReplyDelete
  140. April: Kel emailed me about it. Will keep an eye out for you.

    ReplyDelete
  141. thanks craig! She's always looking out for me!

    ReplyDelete
  142. And don't forget that there will be another pre-sale later today at the SOH website. They might have better seats.

    ReplyDelete
  143. yep, got it marked on my calendar!

    ReplyDelete
  144. Hey WallyC, have any problems with using 1 credit card over 2 accounts?

    ReplyDelete
  145. Wow...that was...amazing? I was expecting to end up with seats in the organ section or something! I got a seat in the stalls, on row T, for one night, and one in the mid-Circle in the other! I...got in. It's still sinking in!
I'm going to see The Cure.
    TWICE.
Such a shock to get home and find that stuff had already been selling...and then to find that there were still seats left!
Anyway, I've got one left over, but it's back in the Circle, row J, so I'll probably put it up with my email after the general sale when there aren't still good seats for the taking, right?
    Thanks again for everything, Craig!

    ReplyDelete
  146. Thank you Craig again for EVERYTHING YOU DO!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  147. great for all of you who got tickets. my heart is with you on 31st and 1st!!!! g*

    ReplyDelete
  148. No probs using the same Credit card.

The second purchase was with Ticketmaster though so SOH Ticketing rules don't apply,

    ReplyDelete
  149. This is the bummer part of living in Ireland its completely the wrong time zone. I missed out so fingers crossed for later today.
Congrats to all who got tickets I hope I will be there to join ye. Flights booked 23 hour flight not looking forward to but hey this is once in a lifetime.

    ReplyDelete
  150. Just wanted to say congrats to all those lucky few that got tix! It feels like a once in a lifetime opportunity to see our beloved band playing this set at the iconic SOH. I was lucky enough to get myself a ticket through Ticketmaster, but honestly, they didn't handle the presale very well. There was no email advising me of the presale even though I'm signed up to get alerts and have 'The Cure' set as one of my favourites! And no code on their website. I had to ring to get the damn code. Anyway, none of this would have been possible without the tireless updates and news from Craig. Thanks mate, appreciate your work!

  151. Can't wait to meet all the international COF fans there too.

PS: If anyone has two tickets for sale for both the 1st and second night / premium, or whatever please let me know. My Curefan friend Gary in NZ missed presale due to timezone, he's going to try again for presale tomorrow, but if unlucky again he'll need some help here.

  152. Totally agree Brett! Would've had no clue if it weren't for you guys...
Kissing Crimson - if all goes as planned tomorrow i might have 1 spare ticket for the first night, if that helps

...speaking of tomorrow, i haven't received anything about the vivid live presale, have you guys?

  153. The Vivid presale tomorrow will more than likely be an email with the current link. You're best bet is to have the link open just before 9am Sydney Time and to refresh. If that's not the case, then wait by your inbox...

  156. Just also want to say thanks to Craig... I have been looking in on your website (now blog) for sooooo long (must be at least 10 years)... love keeping up to date with what my favourite band of all time are doing... anyway, if it weren't for you - I'd still be waiting for tomorrow's email to let me know about the 'presale' - instead, I go to bed knowing I have stall tickets... thanks again!

  160. where are people travelling from? i'm coming from finland.

    ReplyDelete
  161. @Antti, from Finland!? It must be a very long way going to Australia. How long does it take? I'll be flying from Japan. Because the direct flight is expensive, I fly to Taipei first, stay there for 11 hours and then fly again to Sydney. It takes about 23 hours all in all. :p

  162. I'm travelling from Canada :) And the person I'm selling my extra ticket to is coming from Sweden!
