'Faith' live in Camden, NJ (Aug. 1st, 2004)
Getting excited about 'Reflections' yet? Here's a great pro-shot clip of 'Faith' that was posted on YouTube a few days ago. From the 'Curiosa' show in Camden, NJ on Aug. 1st, 2004. Want more? Here's 'Charlotte Sometimes' from the same show.
(Thanks jL and SL)

*Swoon* I was there!
ReplyDeleteWhere did this guy get the proshot numbers from? the whole concert circulating?
ReplyDeleteI wonder if The Cure still owns the rights and material of every concert that is filmed (like they used to do)?
ReplyDelete& I regret that they don't release more of these on dvd like this, no more mastering editing whatever needed.
:) i was there too. what a setlist!
ReplyDeleteLove the song; good performance, still prefer the deeper, more resonant sound of the Fenders to the "plink plink" of the Schecters with the built-in effects. They just sound cheaper. I know one poster noted recent comments that its not the guitars, its the effects/pedals/amps whatever.
ReplyDeleteJust a thought and probably not a great time to post it, but does anyone else think that currently The Cure can only play these albums? Without a second guitar player they can't exactly play through Wish or Kiss Me in its entirety can they? Like I said, just a thought :)
ReplyDeleteI was there as well. Was an amazing show - my fave of the Curiosa tour. Too bad the girl in the row behind me puked all over the floor :(
ReplyDeletedon´t get me wrong. i am damn happy that roger`s back, but I truly hope they will rework charlotte sometimes. and play it in much quieter mood. this here reminds me of bloody 1980 when Mathieu played a little too much around. but maybe it´s just badly mixed.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious about Jeapardy's question as to from where this footage comes.
ReplyDeleteI also echo AndrewV127's concerns about not having a 3rd guitar player. I'm sure Porl is still a member of the band, but Perry was able to add that extra oomph!
Let's just say the footage came from a guy with connections to the venue. Let's not cause any trouble for him. There's a reason he turned comments off on the videos.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn´t matter who has it. What i think is so sad is that has never been shared...
ReplyDeletei was at this show. they did a kick-ass rendition of "disintegration"...muse was really good too, but i had to sit through interpol...ugh.
ReplyDeleteI don't like the keys much on this version. I also find the tempo of this song varies between line ups.
ReplyDeleteFor me, the best versions of Charlotte Sometimes come from the 1986 lineup. Check out the Orange concert - tempo, synths and guitars - superb!
In the post above I'm talking about Charlotte Sometimes ofc - not Faith.
ReplyDeleteFaith - omg - where to start with that song? Very simple and very moving.
Brilliant!! I love Faith live, I have so many bootlegs x]
ReplyDeleteGotcha, Craig. I was just wondering if I could download the full concert somewhere or if The Cure was sitting on a treasure trove. The same thing happened with the Toronto 2004 Cure concert -- which sounded a heck of a lot better than what I witnessed in person, but I find that the case with all live shows.
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard many live performances of "Charlotte Sometimes" -- and they all pale in comparison to the gorgeous official version with that almost out of tune heavy sound --but this is the best live version I've heard.
I do hope it's played for the DVD, since it was not part of the "Faith" official release. One of the band's best songs!
better in orange !!
ReplyDeleteEverything was better In Orange wasn't it?
ReplyDeleteI was at this Curiosa stop. Interpol I thought were quite good. the cure however, were firing on all cylinders. I thought people might tip cars over b/c of the curfew that night, but Faith pacified us and sent us into bliss, perfect.
:)
Damn I missed this show! I'm still mad at myself for not going. Wish I went, but I was in a different frame of mind at the time. But thanks for posting the video, it's great!
ReplyDeleteWOW! I like this of video 100 times more than the rapid cut videos that are so common these days.. I just wish someone would release this on a torrent site.
