NME Awards video

NME has posted the 5 parts of their awards show special that aired last Friday night in the UK on Ch. 4. Here's Part 5 with Robert accepting the Godlike Genius award and performances of Friday I'm in Love and Just Like Heaven.

    This aired last Friday on Channel 4 in the UK. This Friday it is the 2 hour edit of the Big Gig. The Sky info says "Shockwaves NME awards Big Gig 2009. Catch the highlights from this year's big gig including performances from godlike genius award winners The Cure and Franz Ferdinand" Let's hope White Lies get some air time but the footage of Crystal Castles somehow gets destroyed in the editing suite!

    Andy - I spotted Rev too.

    Mehrlicht - I was also wondering who it was he was sat next too at the table.

    Yu might also like to note there is some post show interview with Robert on the news piece at the side of the link Caraig posted. Click the "NEWS" tab and then play the 4:15 min (shame it wasn't 2 seconds shorter!) clip with the picture of The Cure as the thumbnail.

    I too was wondering who that old guy was. I don't mean to be rude but he looks like a bit of an old fool to me. Whenever the camera cut to him during the NME awards show he was always talking to Robert who you could tell just wanted to enjoy the show.

    as i remember robert took his mum to some of the cure shows. i saw some pics from dream tour gig in paris. i know it was 9 years ago, but she didn't look like the guy from nme award.

    I must have blinked when the Revables appeared, but I think I saw DebiHeartables and Laurables towards the end there.

    And was that the dude singer from Blur in the audience. Looked a lot like him. WOOO HOOOOOOOO !!!

    The dude singer from Blur - damon albarn - played at the show, so yes it was him, and Grace Jones, and lots of other somewhat heard of in popular magazines peeps (and the COFers! too).

    Surely, not his mum though? PM - Did you get a good look at the O2????!!!!

    PPS: I think the freak next to Robert looked pretty cool...like some eccentric from the "TOP" mushroom days....IDK....we have to remember that RObert has lived and made friends with colorful people and a colorful past! I wear ties and sports jackets and write strange fiction and consider myself an artist....but our hero is an ARRRRRTISTTTT>...so im sure its just some weeeird friend...love ya'll...-mark b.
