so i called the palms and here is what they said. the show is nearly sold out with only the last 3 rows in balcony level 3 and some standing floor seats left. So i asked he about the side box's "vip seating". they are $5,000 for the box rental and $154.00 per seat in the box and you have to buy all 20 seats. contact a casino guest service for box seating.
That would be so weird if a small crowd showed up (plus it would be awesome), but it's kind of a unique situation really.. they could do an obscure B-side set for the hard-core crowd, featuring a 23-minute long version of "the Same Deep Water As You"
well, I dont know that I believe the guy at the box office. Im pulling up row D section 303. so maybe the last 8 rows. but I would assume they would sell section 302 and 304 last, not 303...
happyeveraftergirl: i think their would be plenty of people in the seats. i think that many people like myself are watching how we spend our money now at days. Screw ticketmaster and their over inflated fees!! i plan to make it a mini vacation and stay in vegas then leave sunday. heck i still got coachella to sneak to the front.
Kate - are you starting to break??? nudge, nudge, nudge, c'mon! have you got any frequent flyer miles you can use? I have an extra bed in my hotel room - half a cheap room is really cheap! There are some ways to be frugal here, besides the exorbitant ticket, of course! nudge, nudge, nudge. Bring on the peer pressure! Go Kate!
Here's the thing: I already have concert tickets. I bought them during the Citi Card pre-sale. I knew that I would not be able to go, but wanted someone from COF to get good seats. I used my Citi Card for the good of the group, thinking that the tickets would go quickly.
Anyhow, I have looked at hotels, and that will not be a problem. There are many options in Vegas, as we all know.
Airfare is a challenge, but I have considered using miles, as I have a ton of them....
I would have to bring Joel along, too. He takes such good pictures that I can't leave him behind. But, I don't know if I can convince him that we could afford it all.
Oh, the pressure!
Which is why I want to know if there is even the slightest chance for east coasters. :)
Kate---I know where you’re coming from. Money is quite tight for me lately and I have way too much debit. I could certainly charge the whole trip but that will just get me further into debit and I need to stop this never ending battle of paying huge payments each month and racking up tons of financial charges.
Besides I’m already going to NYC next weekend for a concert and I’ve spent a lot for that trip. Then there is my sister’s wedding to get ready for (she was going to get married last year) and I can’t jerk her around like I did last year when The Cure were on tour. I hate to miss out on the Cure and meeting the COF peeps but I’ve got to get myself under control financially. So I’ll just have to hope, pray, wait & see if The Cure do something else this year closer to home.
Whatever you decided to do, I’m sure it will be for the right reasons and please don’t feel any peer pressure from me. I didn’t mean to make you feel that way. If you can go that’s great but if you can’t don’t that’s Ok too. At least you won’t be the only Cure Fan not going. Cure peeps have to stick together through think & thin!
Kate, just tell Joel he'll get to see all the CoF peeps (maybe more, even a hundred people?) singing Happy Birthday to Robert! That's something that'll never happen again LOL... He'll only turn 50 once, right?
One possible thing to think about, is I don't think they can advertise this show in the LA area due to Coachella contract. So it's a Vegas area / Cure fan word of mouth (COF) show, I think. I believe that's why the slower ticket sales. Also, maybe the scalpers realized from the presale and backed off. Just a thought...
The show is gonna be killer. I also don't understand the GA's being the most expensive tickets though, either (??).
Coachella is close by and most general music fans will be at Coachella. The die hard Cure fans, of course, will be in Vegas. I was planning on 3-day Coachella, but I know my priorities!
MGG: There's no pit, only floor. Some people just call the floor, the pit. If your ticket says floor, you are on the floor. There's nothing "better" than that.
I still have both my hard floor tickets that I will not be using after all =( Coachella calls my name for Friday...anyway, I just want face + fees and MissCure can bring them to you in person or I can mail them...whatever you like <3 Let me know ;) Thanks!
Nando - floor/pit/general admission tickets are still available through TicketMaster. Use the Citi Cardmember Preferred Tickets option, and they will pop up.
Anyone else find it really odd that there are still ANY tickets available for this show? I remember when they played the Roxy in ATL in 2000 it sold out in about 1/2 a second.
Since it's getting closer to the day, I think we should try to do a CoF meetup before the Pearl show.
Since the casino won't allow line-ups before 6:30, I think that the CoF meet should be in the Buffet Bistro at the Palms, which is VERY conveniently close (as in, next to the box office close) of the Pearl. You can check it out on the casino map here. What do you all think about gathering to do a vegas-style CoF gathering, starting at say, 1 pm?
This way, we can loiter with a purpose, without "officially" lining up, and yet still keep an eye on the theater entrance etc. in case what happened at the Troubadour repeats itself.
If anybody is still looking for a floor ticket and can't get one thru the Ticketmaster Citi thing, I have one extra hard ticket that I'd like to see go to a fan for face value (plus mail if you're not nearby) - email newer456@verizon.net
That is really strange. It makes me wonder if there will be anyone at all in a seat!!

OK so Brandon blew my theory about a small crowd showing up!!
ReplyDelete(like a small crowd would ever show up for the cure)
well, I dont know that I believe the guy at the box office. Im pulling up row D section 303. so maybe the last 8 rows. but I would assume they would sell section 302 and 304 last, not 303...
ReplyDeleteBrandon, that guy you spoke to was full of it. I was pulling single side box seats during both the pre and general sales.
ReplyDeleteif anyone has an extra pit ticket to sell Ill buy it
ReplyDeletenbliudzius@gmail.com
crowbi-man I think that side box and VIP box are two different things though.
ReplyDeleteSandwiches: Why not just buy some from Ticketmaster?
ReplyDeleteI just got two GA tickets with no problems...

Paul K:
ReplyDeleteAre u a TSDWAY lover ?
Yeah ¡¡¡¡¡¡
That would be very the most amazing thing ever.
But i I would have more than enough if CURE plays the song in itself, no matter if it´s a longer version or normal.
Let´s pray for that.
By the way, great idea about the bday sing-a-long.
Cheers.
:)
How strange...I wonder what's up.
ReplyDeleteDear god, they better not cancel the show! I always worry about every scenario when it comes to a Cure show. :/
ReplyDeleteI am pulling tickets in section 202, so I guess there are more available than we were told...
ReplyDeletePersonally, I just don't know if I can do the whole line-up-to-get-into-the pit thing for hours...
I can certainly stand during the whole concert, but I don't know about the lining up. Anyone know how this venue handles the line?
cure: I was just being a smart ass.
ReplyDeleteI know in this economy iit is nuts to spend 150 + on just a ticket.....but we are at the mercy of the almighty TM.
Kate, it doesn't sound like fans will be allowed to line up too early. Security will ask you to move along.
ReplyDeleteKate - no line ups allowed before 6:30pm
ReplyDeleteThanks, crowbi-wan and April.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I will have to ponder it. :)
If you can do it Kate, go for it!!! Get them tickets and go to Vegas!
ReplyDelete*grin* at cure_kitty
ReplyDelete(((((Hugs)))))) to you Kate!!! You're the COF's #1 cheerleader for The Cure! You have to go! :)

Oh, Kate!!! Please come. I'd love to meet you and PARTAY!!!! Woot.
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks, love!
ReplyDeleteI am considering it. But, that is all I can say for now. :)
How do I convince Joel?! :)

Oh god my spelling! I meant to say Thick & Thin!
ReplyDeleteSomeone get me a dictionary! ;p
oh Kate, come on. It will be so much fun!
ReplyDeletecure_kitty: No worries! My "Oh, the pressure" was more of a silly-drama thing. I really understand your situation, too!
ReplyDeleteApril: Weee!

ReplyDeletesirensong has just been on freaky eaters addicted to chips
ReplyDeleteKate ... please !
ReplyDeleteRev, Sara - You both have great ideas. I am still considering, too! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'm confused about the ticket that I have now. I thought if it was the highest priced ticket that says standing only-no seats, that WAS the pit area.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise I may have gotten the wrong ticket! And I will be devastated. :(
MGG: There's no pit, only floor. Some people just call the floor, the pit. If your ticket says floor, you are on the floor. There's nothing "better" than that.
ReplyDeleteThanks Craig. I just checked the Ticketbastard site and read the FAQ's as well and it explains it...for ditzy purple headed girls.
ReplyDelete:P
When I saw Depeche Mode in Vegas, the pit was $50 cheaper than the bleachers! WTF!
ReplyDeleteneed 2 floor tickets, driving to the show from canada. help me please...

ReplyDeleteIt is pretty strange that there are still tickets available. My tickets arrived in the mail today!!
ReplyDeleteIt's official! I will be there!
ReplyDeleteThank you to everyone who helped!
Yay, Kate! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteGo, Kate, go!
ReplyDeleteOh wait, you already are. : )
Enjoy, Kate, enjoy!
Kate: Is Joel going? Will he take lots of photos? : )
ReplyDeleteYAY Kate!
ReplyDeleteIt will be good to see you two again :D

What say you, CoF peeps!??
Thanks V, Craig and Rev! We are very excited!
ReplyDeleteCraig: Yes, Joel will be with me and promises to do his best! (I couldn't leave him behind, could I?!)
Rev: I think that your plan is marvelous! Thank you for spear-heading.
Heron: Mind if I make a post about this?
ReplyDeleteCraig, I do not mind at all :)
ReplyDeleteDone! : )
ReplyDeleteYeah kate! It's good to see that you are able to go! Have fun with your hubby & the COF peeps! :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like everyone on here is going to the show. I just might be the only COFer who will be here on Vegas Show Night!!! LOL!!!
If you can't be there, this is the next best place. It will be a fun night! :)
Yay Kate! I am so glad you guys are coming. It will be nice to see you again!
ReplyDeleteThanks, cure_kitty!
ReplyDeleteApril: We are looking forward to seeing you, too!
Yay, the meet up sounds great! Can't wait to see some of you guys again, and meet the others!
