The Real Snow White mention in LA Times

From "Before the 'Huntsman': Snow White's life in pop songs":

Snow White the emo heartbreaker
"You've got what I want," the Cure's Robert Smith sings to open "The Real Snow White," and proceeds to beg and howl as he contradicts himself and makes empty promises over slashing guitars. Evil queens need to be avoided, sure, but hopeless romantics bring plenty of drama themselves. "You're not the real Snow White," Smith snarls, only to follow that up by confessing his infidelities. The battle here is purely emotional, as this kind of obsession is best dealt with by blocked phone numbers and restraining orders. (Thanks Morris)

Massive Cure collection for sale

Leslie has decided to sell her massive Cure collection. Read more about it here.

Robert on De Volkskrant cover

"In today's paper was a huuuuge full page photo of Robert + a brilliant article. (The V in the picture is 'cause the paper is called De Volkskrant)"
Here's the translation of the article:
"Linkin Park was a pretty good headliner on the second day, blablabla, but not the singalong that made Pinkpop glow in the atmospheric evening hours.
The Cure however did do that on the opening night. The band with ever charming child-man Robert Smith has played the bigger audiences for the last years in his new outfit, wíth bass player Simon Gallup, but at Pinkpop the group rose above itself as a festival band.

Xfm's Best British Songs of All Time

'Just Like Heaven' comes in at #97 on Xfm's Best British Songs of All Time list. As with the HMV 'Disintegration' placing, this is just so wrong.  England, we seriously need to talk.
(Thanks @JodieSometimes)

Want to tell them what they missed on that list? Tell them here. (Thanks @SleazyMartinez)

Best British Albums of the Last 60 Years

'Disintegration' comes in at #32 on HMV's Best British Albums of the last 60 years poll. Story at NME.

Robert Interview on Nederland 3

A Pinkpop special aired Sunday on Nederland 3. It included 'Friday I'm in Love', 'Close to Me', and this interview (English) with Robert (also on YouTube). (Thanks @3voor12)

In the interview, Robert confirms Reeves is "just filling in". So not an official Cure, just a Summer guest. Which makes these Summer shows even more special. If you want to see Reeves with The Cure, this could be your only chance. Get tickets now!
No, I don't get paid for saying that or hyping up the shows. : P Just saying this probably won't last, so see this lineup while you can.

Reeves Gabrels joins The Cure for the Summer

Welcome to The Cure, Reeves! Good time to take a listen to Yesterday's Gone again. Beautiful!

From Slicing Up Eyeballs: "While Smith has not made an official announcement regarding Gabrels’ addition to the lineup — and generally hasn’t announced lineup changes in recent years — musician Jenn Vix, who released a song with Gabrels earlier this year, tells Slicing Up Eyeballs that Gabrels is “an official band member now” and will play all of The Cure’s summer festival dates."
Update: Robert says Reeves is "just filling in", he's not a member of the band.

From Jenn Vix on Facebook: "For all my friends who have been wondering where I have disappeared to for the last few weeks... I am playing guitar with The Cure. We will be doing festivals throughout Europe this summer." -- Reeves Gabrels

Pinkpop on TV, Radio, Internet

Still not sure about this, but it looks like some of The Cure's set should be aired on one or more of these stations tomorrow:
3FM
Cultura24
3voor12
101.tv (only available in The Netherlands?)
Nederland 3 (Highlights on Sunday & Monday?)
This article says Robert has given them permission to air The Cure's set (this is only for tv), but this article has a schedule of performances to be streamed, and The Cure are not listed.

Cure videos on Rage in Australia

"Thought I'd let you know for all the Aussie fans that Rage appears to be broadcasting the Cure's entire catalogue of music videos (including two live ones I believe) from 3.30am onwards tomorrow night (Saturday) on ABC1. Rage is a music video TV program on the ABC that runs specials every Saturday night. Here's the link for the playlist." (Thanks Gabby)
