Wrong link?!
ReplyDeleteThis is just part of trust
ReplyDeletefirst link wrong
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't work....
ReplyDeleteThe link is to a Roger keyboard solo. Not bad and very unexpected, though.
ReplyDeleteSorry. Fixed the link.
ReplyDeleteI got Lullaby too?
ReplyDelete...And all of Close To Me.
ReplyDeleteBob's bustin' some serious moves too
Eh, Sleep When I'm dead too.
ReplyDeleteReeves gives it the two fists in the air at the start
Barry, there are 2 different webcasts linked. The one from Andy is the live one from Saturday night. The one from 3voor12 is from today. They contain a few different songs.
ReplyDeleteThanks Craig
Deletedoes anybody know how the grab the video from 3voor12?
ReplyDeleteI am uploading it right now so we have a link on YouTube to that too. I will then provide download links.
ReplyDeletegreat thank you so much!
DeleteThanks, Andy. Not confident that YouTube will leave them up, so downloads would be great!
DeleteCorrect, Craig.
DeleteHere's the 2nd broadcast - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfdBbRsq0Og
It's still "processing" and should be up shortly.
Its a bit dissapointing!i want to see the cure live with only one guitar!
ReplyDeleteRobert guitar:(
I haven't seen (heard?) them sound so clear in years, you can listen to each instrument individually again (at last) without that awful feedback and wah mess (sorry Pearl). Lullaby with an accoustic guitar? Fantastic. Robert is playing more guitar than usual, which is definitely a plus. And the mood was excellent, it seems. A very good setlist as well.
ReplyDeleteWell, for some fans, a few thousands yesterday, the concert was great. But the guys got old. Most of the audience was bored, walked in and out and didn't seem happy with The Cure closing as a headliner.
ReplyDeleteListen, I'm a Cure fan from the beginning of the eighties, have seen them over 10 times the last 30 years but hey.....looking at some oldies performing at the automatic pilot to gain a lot of money in a few months has nothing to do with real music and being creative.
The Cure has to stop. Gray hair, no fun and performing songs at an automatic pilot.....Rober must fight this sickness...find a Cure....to prove he's a great songwrir he has to come up with great new songs or better stop and spend his 50 million earned money.
Fantasticasa, i don't agree. Maybe it's my problem, but i don't see that "automatic pilot" on Cure shows. I was lucky enough to be at Reflections London and loved it! And by what i saw from yesterday (via You Tube) i'm anxiously awayting for July so i can see The Cure again. And i would love to see them again and again for a lot more years. Yes, they're old. So are we.Don't see any problem with that if the songs still great and well played (and i think they're playeng better and better).
DeleteBut that's me.
Haha funny, they were improvising more than usual last night, and sounded fresh to me. To see a band with a new guitarist and recently returned keyboardist play this well and with intensity at times and carefree fun at others is inspiring. I totally disagree with you.
DeleteRobert aint in it for the money, he has plenty.
And who cares if Reeves hair is white, he's older and He Rocks and has a unique playing style that blows me away. He played with some little englishman , david bowie or something, you may have heard of him? :P ;)
I'm really excited about this line up, and hope they record.
Who cares if The Cure looks old, they sound great! Who cares what they sing, they sound great! I'm glad they are having fun & hope the summer tour goes well!
DeleteI'm loving it!!!
Please, don't you heard Cure's records? Didn't you live 30 years with them? Do you think Robert or The Cure have something more to prove? I think they are just enjoying. They have nothing to prove to anyone, the proofs are Three imaginary boys, Seventeen seconds, Faith, Pornography, Japanese whispers, The top, The head on the door, KMKMKM, Disintegration, Wish, WMS, Bloodflowers, The Cure(2004) andddd 4:13 dream, so he ir a great songwriters.
DeleteThis performance has a warmth that is absent from older concerts when they were much younger. People change as they get older, and this is just a different style of the Cure for us to appreciate. Robert is much more cheerful than he used to be (see the interview), and this is also wonderful. Great show, great sound, great job by the band. If I wasn't moving to a new city in the U.S. this summer, I would bankrupt myself to go to one of these shows!

Thank you for the links. I agree that the cure sounds very clear in this concert !
ReplyDeleteWow. This is the best they've sounded since the Bloodflowers tour. I agree, everything is clear, Robert's voice is in form and even Jason's snare sounds good after an (in my opinion) overrated Bestival last year. I had really list faith, but this line-up sounds amazing and I've now shelled out for Reading tickets as a result. I haven't been so excited about The Cure for years.
ReplyDeleteAch. Damn iPhone changing all my vowels. I'm not an idiot, just in a rush.
ReplyDeleteYes, I used the wrong link!!
ReplyDeleteHi! Craig, we want to share the audio from webcast, this is the first: http://bit.ly/K4F4TD greetings! :)
ReplyDeleteWant was really powerful, I really liked the "new arrangements" of some songs. And what was that guitar in Wrong Number? Wow. A couple songs still sound a bit too slow for my tastes but oh well. It seems that this festival tour is sort of a celebration of Wish's 20 years, or am I wrong? The new logo on the bass drum looks like a mix of the old traditional logo with the Wish era logo too.
ReplyDeleteI liked the new bits too.
Deleteon wrong number that was reeves just doin his thing. :) Sounded even cooler than the studio version (also reeves).
I really liked rogers bit on trust.
Figures they pulled the last file before i could finish
ReplyDeleteWhich one do you need?
DeleteThanks for the links! Nice to see The Cure performing Live once again! Love the line-up, love the songs, Love it all! Happy to have a summer that will be filled with Cure Fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the links Andy (and Craig). I couldn't get the stream to work very well for me yesterday, so it's nice to watch it today without it freezing every few seconds.
ReplyDeleteahh thank you thank you!
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh those keys on trust! i don't even like that song that much, but thisss :)
ReplyDeletetakes it to a whole new level huh.
DeleteRoger getting his chance to shine.
:)
I really like how he plays on Out of This World too.
DeleteHopefully they can squeeze it in and represent Bloodflowers a little.
They dont even have to open with it, even though its an "opening track".
just play it, or a bloodfloowers encore would be nice.
okay i officially approve of reeves
ReplyDeleteIt's just my opinion, but I think they sound terrible. There's no enthusiasm in the performance. I'm a die heart Cure fan, but it's just not that good. As long as Robert and the gang are having fun and making money... good for them. :)
ReplyDeleteStill excited for the new album... should they ever release it. **Fingers crossed**
I was trying to figure if I could see any of Reeves' pedalboard, and from the small bits they showed it seemed pretty simple. Which he confirms, in this older interview: http://www.reevz.net/summer-tour_2009.htm
ReplyDeleteI could identify the Line 6 mod (the big green stuff) and a couple Boss delays (the whitish-silver pedals, although one is the tuner? Can't be 2 tuners I suppose). Also there's 4 Roland cubes, a Vox (or 2? Behind Roger), 2 Hiwatts... some different gear than usual it seems.
thank you for the audio - i can listen to the mad version of Want on my commute and feel existential as i pass through long tunnels x
ReplyDeletethe long webcast is out of sync from 100 years on...damn. would anyone be so kind and upload it again?
ReplyDeletesounds fantastic, and reeves is the best they could go for. I wish he would stay and they make a new record with him.
That's how my recording came out. I might fix it later or hopefully someone else will. I wantto make sure I capture whatever webcast gets streamed this summer first.
