  1. I told you the track list that had been going around was fake, but no one wanted to believe me. : )

Sad to see Baby Rag Dog Book get retitled It's Over.

  2. WTH ¡¡¡¡

No Please Come Home and ABINK ?!!!

    I don´t get that.

The gems can´t be stay out of the album once again.

    Also no BRDB in sight....

Unless RSx has made a major changes on song´s titles.

All these songs would be on the "Dark Album" ?

    Now i´m about to faint...

    ReplyDelete
  3. Yay! This makes me feel like it's really for sure almost here! :-D

    ReplyDelete
  4. Wait.... BRDB got retitled?? YES!! woohoo! Now the radio robots HAVE to play it!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Woo! I'm so excited for the new album and the new "news"! I can't wait to see what Robert has in store for us! AND I'm very relieved to see Underneath the Stars as the official #1 track!

    ReplyDelete
  6. oh my god !
    i love the cover !

i´ll take the bet with the "dark" album.

if you bring out the album before RSX birthday 2009 (50??) i will wipe out your loft 50 times.

  7. AHHHHHHHHHHI CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!

    FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't wait for the dark album

    ReplyDelete
  8. Who's ready for the "Dark Dream" tour in May 2009?

    ReplyDelete
  9. Stop it Craig. You don't want to know what happens to me when I get too excited...

    ReplyDelete
  10. Ohmigosh! It's getting closer and closer....I'm about to burst! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  11. Another fab piece of artwork from Porl!! Great.......

    ReplyDelete
  12. @#$%#%DAMN IT. why robert, why?! i was just complaining to someone that i hoped robert wouldnt reveal the song list and the cover art. I WANTED IT TO BE A SURPRISE! hmm maybe fate/luck/karma is trying to tell me something?

beautiful cover. gorgeous. it reminds me of HOTD, the top, so many other things. and even the self titled because of its abstractness.

*mourns for baby rag dog book's title loss* its over <<<<<<<<<<<<<< BRDB. well.. at least UTS is the opener, as we thought. its the new plainsong!

    ReplyDelete
  13. wait.. mad bobs right - WHERES ABINK??? and please come home?

that means there really will be a dark album! YAY!

ps. mad bob i emailed you :)

    ReplyDelete
  14. A new Cure album! WOOOOOT!!!

So great to be able to say that :)

    Cover art looks great.

    I'm Happy.

    ReplyDelete
  15. worst cover ever! :-P

i hope the title "it's over" will be a promise!

and the best track is not on the album: "a boy i never knew". maybe robert doesn't want roger and perry in the credits? ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  16. Very beautiful cover.
Hope to see the dark album in my hands. Need to hear Please come home, BINK, christmas without you...I need robert now to please give me Dark album

    ReplyDelete
  17. Robert - i won't be complaining about the missing tracks "A Boy I Never Knew" and "Please Come Home", if and only if, you release that Dark Album soon. It'd do you guys a lot of good to finally end that contract with Universal and it'd make all your fans happy to have another album. Especially all the fans who wanted a double album anyway. We know you have sufficient tracks to complete another album, hopefully you do it.

much love, from andy your band's fan.

    ReplyDelete
  18. "Who's ready for the "Dark Dream" tour in May 2009?"

That's left with a ridiculous grin and a weird tingly feeling all over. Still, I'll TRY not to get my hopes up...

    ReplyDelete
  19. *renews her passport ready for the 2009 Dark Dream tour*

*whispers to Robert, "from a work perspective it would be better if you could wait until July :)"*

    ReplyDelete
  20. Dj scribbles< I was hoping for more surprise element also/ Maybe they just knew the cover looks really good and excitement took over.

Im happy to see Robert acknowledging the "dark album" again. He has a habit of mentioning ideas (getting hopes up) then never speaking of them again.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I can understand people questioning why ABINK is not on the tracklist - but Please Come Home only surfaced this week as an old demo, people have obviously 'jumped' to the wrong conclusion that it would be on the album.
*crosses her fingers that she has her facts straight*

    ReplyDelete
  22. *waves to brandon* havent seen you post in a while

DAMN. doesnt anyone get ANY sleep around here?? i dont mean you Elise - i know its tommorow where you are :).

cult hero - awww, you dont like the cover?

    ReplyDelete
  23. DJ - I was thinking the same thing. I thought maybe Craig was using his Dream 13 machine to send the track list to everyone in their sleep.

*wonders if Craig actually remembers the Dream 13 machine*

    ReplyDelete
  24. Elise: Please Come Home was mentioned as a possible track on the new album:

"Tracks due to make the cut include "Lusting Here in Your Mind" ("It sounds suspiciously like heavy rock to me," Smith says), "The Hungry Ghost," "The Perfect Boy," "Christmas Without You" ("That's not a very happy song," he says) and "Please Come Home."

That was in the Billboard article from July of last year.

    ReplyDelete
  25. DOH! I knew I should have kept my mouth shut :( (or should that be should have stopped my fingers from typing?)

    ReplyDelete
  26. Cue Homer Simpson gurgling-"Uhhhhhh"!

Love the cover, love the confirmation the UTS is there. This is going to be a VERY slow 5ish weeks!

Are we sure that "It's over" IS BRDB, though?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Pretty sure, but not 100% yet. I'd bet my life on it though.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Canada article
-found an ok review of the remix EP, the author doesnt like 65dos mix very much, he even prefers FOB's mix to it.

Elise - is it friday yet? cant we fast forward to the future with the album? well g'day elise, and goodnight Craig and pjw and whoevers not sleeping, or should i say morning :). and now 'i lay me down to dream'

agreed with- Its Over being BRDB, he repeats it often enough in there. *SIGH* brdb, the title alone sounds cure, and its waaay more imaginative than 'its over'.
    :(

    ReplyDelete
  29. I bet It's over is Baby Rag Dog Book. And Please Come Home might be that Track 10.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Yay! :^D
    More great artwork, also.

So now the Wishful Thinking tour is getting a re-name also? I like "Dark Dream Tour" though, makes it sound more plausible, heh.

That Hypnagogic reviewer totally missed out on most of the joy in that EP: EHS. Oh well, meh.

I don't care what BRDB is called, as long as it's on the album. :^D

    ReplyDelete
  31. "Pretty sure, but not 100% yet. I'd bet my life on it though."

Ha! That's good enough for me, Craig!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Maybe ABINK and PCH and S, will be extra bonus tracks for the japanese release :D
    (just kiddin')

    ReplyDelete
  33. Happy a bunch to see UTS in the track listing!! Bit sad not seeing ABINK...
    "Dark Album"? hummmm...

    ReplyDelete
  34. Random title musings:

Hungry Ghost - LURVE that title. It's a Buddhist allusion.

Sirensong - Cool! Reminds me of Homer. Not the Simpsons dude - DOH!

The Real Snow White - WTF. Please don't pollute this album with Disney showtunes.

Switch - Hmmmmmm. I'm thinking kinky stuff here.

This. Here and Now. With You - SEXY!

The Scream - I love Munch!!!!

It's Over - Formerly known as Baby Rag Dog Book. MOTHERFUCKERS HAD TO GO AND CHANGE THE BEST TITLE EVER! I'm gonna riot!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I lurve the sound of "This. Here and Now. With You" - at least, I lurve the sound of the title and cannot wait to hear the song.

    ReplyDelete
  36. With a bit of luck the last track(It's over)will be a song directly aimed at the MU!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Oooooh weee! I am SO excited.

I have a dumb question, though. I can't remember how we learned of Baby Rag Dog Book's title... Did he say it in concert at some point?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Great news. Great cover. Even greater still is the prospect of a dark album. Exciting times my friends!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Wow, what a treat to turn on my computer today to see this long-awaited, fantastic news!!! I LOVE the cover, it's just perfect and creepy and the tracklisting is awesome.

I can't for the life of me understand the outrage over Baby Rag Dog Book title change to It's Over. BRDB was such a stupid, nonsensical, cumbersome title, It's Over is the perfect title to end the album and very Curish. I'm thrilled with the change. I'm sure BRDB was just always just a temporary title anyway.

I must be behind the times, but has Please Come Home been heard?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Hello JPX. I agree with you there; "It's Over" is a much better title.

There's a file of "Please Come Home" about somewhere on COF, it's generally agreed that it's from the STA sessions, not a new version.

    ReplyDelete
  41. well excuse the fuck out of me for preferring a more evocative, thrashy, rockabilly-sounding title over something flat and trite! baby rag dog book is NOT cumbersome. nonsensical, yes, in that delectably curey/non-curey paradoxical way... it conjures hank williams, and elvis, and 70s motorcycle rock, and it fit the song so well! jpx... you're exasperating... :-)

as for the cover... actually, i am having second thoughts about it. it's rather bright and watercolory, but it's also somewhat miro-esque, and miro is the best artist ever, yo. i like its surreal sense... mmmmmmmm... bring on the 4:13 dream....

    ReplyDelete
  42. i like how the word "dream" is melting/sliding down over the exploding head thingy...

okay i really need to work.

i'm taking the day off when this album is released. i'm also getting my damn car stereo fixed - so fucking tired of listening to pabulum on the radio!!

    ReplyDelete
  43. I'd love a set of prints of all of the new covers (singles/album). They fit well together.

    ReplyDelete
  44. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Cat.You should get an old fashioned 8 track installed in your car to listen to Hank Williams on, just for that little bit of authenticity!

    ReplyDelete
  46. pjw: smashing idea! now stop distracting me from work!

mmmmmmmmmm... authenic hank williams listening experience...

"heeeeeeeeeeeeey good lookin' whaaaaaaaaatcha got cookin'.... how's about cookin' somethin' up for meee.."

it don't get no better than the hillbilly shakespeare!

PS I really do fucking despair over the loss of Baby Rag Dog Book as a title. I'm boycotting the album!

    ReplyDelete
  47. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  48. okay one more thing: he said it will be the same everywhere, just like the old days. no ripping us off with multiple tracklistings, etc.

    fuck yes!

    bye.

    ReplyDelete
  49. If it makes you feel any better Cat, I'm trying to work too!

Mind you, if I wasn't talking to you I'd probably be surreptitiously listening to "Cloudberry" and "Uyea Sound" from "lost Wishes", with which I am currently obsessed.

You never know, maybe "It's Over" isn't BRDB after all.

Mind you, then you'd probably boycott the album because it's not there at all!

    ReplyDelete
  50. I love Lost Wishes! Better than the whole of Wish, yes indeedy.

My students are finally settled down. I had to crack the whip a bit. "STFU dammit, I'm trying to read COF!" "Miss, what's COF?" "It's a fucking website for Cure freaks. Now shut up and do your work!"

    I might get fired.

    Bye fer realz pjw. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  51. Commense pants-crapping! Woo-Hoo! New Cure! New Cure!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Awesome! Awesome cover really, none of that white bland shit. Very intriguing titles here, plus I really do believe we are going to get a dark album, seeing as so many good songs have been left out.
I could see ABINK become the next single.
    Very exciting times.

And Craig... I knew the other tracklisting was fake... smelled fake all over the place! ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  53. if a 'dark album' actually comes out before 2012, i'll mail my underwear to the prime minister.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Kate - There were pictures of setlists where the song appeared as BRDB. The FUSE broadcast graphics also shows it as BRDB.

    http://www.pbase.com/craigparker/image/97483179

    ReplyDelete
  55. Must be a teacher thing, then! I was trying to do a tutorial with a student whilst secretly posting.

The "Lost Wishes" stuff is like the three songs we're talking about from STA at the moment: if they'd made it into the final cut of their respective albums they would have been much better.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Switch is the new Screw!!!!

Maybe not. I feel like starting a new controversy!

    This needs a debate now!!
    Discuss.
    o_q

    ReplyDelete
  57. I CAN'T DO THIS ANYMORE!!!

    Simply... IT'S OVER

    ReplyDelete
  58. i want to know the news about "stuff" could it be the wishful thinking tour?????? :) i cant wait that long for this news bc im going to go crazy if i wait too long!!! i cant contain my excitement for this album and my roommate is looking at me like im crazy!!! lol :)

    ReplyDelete
  59. RAISE YOUR HAND IF YOU THINK WE SHOULD HAVE AN ALBUM RELEASE PARTY AT CRAIGS HOUSE!!!!!

    *raises hand*

    ReplyDelete
  60. *peeks in*

Monkeybutt, please refrain from discussing your undergarments. There are minors in the room.

hynreck: you might be onto something... i never knew RSX was into whips and such...

sara: you really think our beloved craig will allow us to enter his batcave? NOT LIKELY. Cure album release party at MY PLACE, YO! Of course, my stereo kinda sucks.. I'll have to get a new one! And if you're allergic to cats, don't bother showing up!

    mmmmmmmm...new Cure album... *drools*

RSX, sweetie, I'll do ANYTHING for you if you change the title back to Baby Rag Dog Book! *gazes at RSX with shy flirty eyes*

    ReplyDelete
  61. so sad those 4 horrible songs have been included!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Cat:
Maybe he'll release the It's Over (BABY RAG CAT BOOK MIX) just for you!!!!!!

    *Rolls eyes and smoke pipe*

    ReplyDelete
  63. AAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!! Wheres my Baby Raggedy Bobby Doggy Book????

'It's over' reminds me of a Phil Collins ballad! WAH!

    Crap, crap, crap, crap...

Anyway, cover artwork looks nice and 'Sirenesong' HAS to be something kind of a selestial bliss!! Pure heaven!!! Hallelujah!

    =)

    ReplyDelete
  64. Hynreck, can you come over to England and clean up the tea that I just spat all over my keyboard, please?

    ReplyDelete
  65. A boy i never knew, Please come home and Strum.. are songs from "The Cure" period.. now its time for 4:13 songs..

i think its the best choice to let them out of this album..

they should release this 3 songs as singles during the next year, just like before the top with the songs that were on Japanese Whispers.. well thats only a wish :)

or maybe part of the dark album dark album!

who knows, but im happy whit this track list

    ReplyDelete
  66. I think they'll be on the dark album... *keeps fingers cross*

pjw - I'll come for the tea, but don't expect me to lick it off your keyboard. I'm not kinky that way.

Does anybody else feels extremely good this morning? Well, today, whenever it is for you folks? I've been energyze by this news! Seriously I'm bouncing.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I'd be really impressed if the band actually did release a 14th album in 2009. Considering they've stuck religiously to the "Four More Years" model, this could be a good sign that Robert may start working on new albums sooner, or at least that we won't have to wait an excruciating (and ridiculous) four years between albums. My only real hope is that the mixing on this album is better than on the "Loudness War" singles, which were good, but definitely suffered at higher volume. Guess we'll know when the album leaks in the near future.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I'd like to know who is engineer/mixer/producer of 4:13 Dream. I hope not Keith Uddin, i don'liked his work (with RS of course) on the singles. My hopes... Mike Hedges or Flood, but just hopes.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I'm hoping for a break in the 4 years curse as well. But it should be easy this time, as they already got most of the material needed.

I'm also hoping this "dark album" ends this dark period with the mighty U as soon as possible.

    ReplyDelete
  70. i think it's keith uddin, unfortunately, on the whole album. is it too much to ask dave allen to come and do a quick polish?

    ReplyDelete
  71. It's too much, as in: 6 months delay, lol. Don't want that.

    ReplyDelete
  72. moutheyesheart: Exactly. What the fuck did they do to the Best Cure Title Ever? They took such a flavorful feast of a title and ground it up into some bland tasteless yuckiness... *grimaces*

hyrneck: You made my day!!!!! Baby Rag Cat Book Mix...or maybe Kitty Cat Snags Foot Mix... etc. etc.

RSX I AM PLEADING WITH YOU!! CHANGE IT BACK! *whimpers like a puppy*

    ReplyDelete
  73. OH AND:

If they fuck up UTS, I'm officially voting for McCain/Palin, cuz they will accelerate the annihilation of the world, and I will be craving that...

    ReplyDelete
  74. cat, if HYNRECK made your day, the least you could do is spell his name right... ;)

    ReplyDelete
  75. it doesn't matter which one of them you vote for...either way our planet is DOOMED.

    ReplyDelete
  76. also, since i'm now talking to myself, the real snow white is one of the worst titles i've heard since the last n*sync album.

    ReplyDelete
  77. The Real Snow White is going to be about Cocaine abuse and rule all piggy-wiggy.

I hope The Cure gives us at least 5 more albums before the world dies.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Ahhhh! Finally! I really like the cover too. I think it fits the dreamy theme they have going. Are we sure that It's Over is Baby Rag Dog Book? Only thing I was a little disappointed over was no A Boy I Never Knew.

    ReplyDelete
  79. if i could blow myself, do you think i'd ever bother leaving comments on this page? or doing anything else ever?

    ReplyDelete
  80. ok then, ALBUM RELEASE PARTY AT CAT'S HOUSE!!! EVERYONE BRING $5 FOR A NEW STEREO AND BEER!!! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  81. I've tried blowing myself for years, but to no avail, and I'm getting fatter too. I feel destiny's putrid breath on my neck as it laugh at me.
    Maybe we are doomed indeed.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Ahhhh! Finally! I really like the cover too. I think it fits the dreamy theme they have going. Are we sure that It's Over is Baby Rag Dog Book? Only thing I was a little disappointed over was no A Boy I Never Knew.

    ReplyDelete
  83. I am so excited!!! Sounds like a great track listing. I'm actually thrilled to see ABINK and PCH excluded as that can only mean that the fabled "dark album" might actually see the light of day (pun intended).

    ReplyDelete
  84. clockwise cat said:
"it's also somewhat miro-esque, and miro is the best artist ever"

I totally agree! I LOVE Miro's stuff. He's my favorite artist. That's why I've always loved the Wish era artwork so much. I think Miro must be an influence for Porl.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Did anyone notice that six out of the 13 song titles begin with "The"?

Arielcc, if by "4 horrible songs" you mean the singles, why do you consider them to be horrible, and furthermore, were you seriously expecting the band to NOT include them on the album?

    ReplyDelete
  86. mb and hynreck: please refrain from profane visuals! we must preserve the disney-fied aura of COF!

maybe RSX was singing about himself in the only one... auto-erotic CURE, yo!

    furrever: Miro is MINE.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Some people are lost in the land of wishful thinking. But.. .ahem...
    *drum roll*

I told you so (that the singles would be on the album) <---(new Cure song title!)

Not too hard to figure out since the official site's been claiming it in nearly every goddam post. Sigh.

    ReplyDelete
  88. The artwork looks better inverted -- as did all the singles' artwork, for that matter. Have a look.

And I'll be renaming "It's Over" in iTunes when I get this album. Baby Rag Dog Book was a title that took forever to grow on me, but now it has, and I really adore it.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Yes, hynreckandjoe I am overly happy today. It's always a good day to wake up and first thing I see is an album cover and tracklist for the long awaited 4:13

I freakin' waited up till midnight for Robert to post and he posted 20minutes after I logged off.

The Perfect Boy mix 4 is stuck in my head. I could barely concentrate while filling out my pre-employment forms, taking a pee test, and watching the saftey video.

I so need to start this job on Thursday and get a life.

Cat - you are too funny. "STFU I'm trying to concentrate on COF!" You sound as distracted as me. Don't get fired!

    ReplyDelete
  90. Well we're all in the same boat... I'm at the job but not much heart is put into it.
A freaking new Cure album happens every 4 years! I'm sorry, world, but it is a MAJOR event!!!

    ReplyDelete
  91. furrever, you can have a small sliver of ONE Miro painting of your choosing, and that's that! :-)

cpg: normally i dislike standardized tests - but what a coincidence that one falls on the day of a major cure announcement!

    mmmmmmmmmmmm... imminent cure album....

    ReplyDelete
  92. lol so the deep significance of the album's title is:
you've waited 4 years, you got 13 dreams, thus 4:13 dream...

I dunno... Hypnagogic should come in the mail tonite. If so, good timing, I need a fix right NOW!

    ReplyDelete
  93. The only disappointment i have with the track list is no A Boy I Never Knew.... what a shame

    ReplyDelete
  94. Thats a shame about ABINK.

Wouldn't hold my breath on the Dark Album being released in 2009. After all, this album was "penciled in" for first quarter 2007 at one point, if I remember correctly.

    ReplyDelete
  95. I believed you Craig, you are all knowing ;)

    ReplyDelete
  96. Oh happy day! Something concrete at long last!

On the cover, I like how the blue streaks and stars shoot out from the fingertips.

And I'm with bloodflower - BRDB took a while to sink in before I grew fond of it. It's sad to see the name go, but I'm just hoping it really is IO cuz that song rocks my world, whatever the hell he calls it.

    ReplyDelete
  97. PS: I knew Underneath the Stars would be the first track, based on the set lists from Tour anyhow. And I do like the album artwork...

    <3 Le Sighs <3

    ReplyDelete
  98. I bet the dark album is done already. Don't forget that this was to be a double album up to a couple of months ago. The Mighty U put the hammer down on it, though.

    ReplyDelete
  99. there WAS a snow white before disney, ya know.

so this is what happens when i decide to go to bed early and wake up late, eh? mutiny and betrayl. hmm? new setlists and ART (most importantly).

well i love the album cover, if anyone wanted to know. it IS very reminiscent of head on the door. almost an illustration of the cover. in fact. it's pretty interesting. i wish we had a hi-res version.

i'm happy about the real snow white. i like the grimm fairytale and it's also one of the only disney movies i like.

the real snow white could be about mary (bigger and brighter and wider than snow). also in the grimm's the queen has to wear hot iron shoes and dance until she falls down dead.

a little bit sad about baby rag dog book, but any good war has casualties.

    ReplyDelete
  100. sofia: I thought about Grimm's tale too!=)

  102. LARGE HADRON COLLIDER WILL END IT ALL!

Also, Keith Uddin sucked on the singles. I'd like to hear Nigel Godrich produce a Cure album. His work with Beck is fantastic.

    ReplyDelete
  103. marc: Didn't Robert himself abandon his idea of a double album to make an up-beat single disc for getting an album more "self-contained"!?

cat: How about buying the rights on the label "it's over" and then sue robert for abusing name that is OURS!!!? He has to rename the song and we're moneybags HA! how much do you have?

    ReplyDelete
  104. i had forgotten about those grimm brethren...

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....puts a whole new twist on it...

    yup.

and sof, i will NOT accept the demise of baby rag dog book. this was not trench warfare, after all - just some messy battles fought here and there. the brdb title does not deserve to die - and for what cause?! *refuses to accept that her baby rag is gone*

    ReplyDelete
  105. "cat: How about buying the rights on the label "it's over" and then sue robert for abusing name that is OURS!!!? He has to rename the song and we're moneybags HA! how much do you have?"

i think you have hit on something here. *checks loose change* i have about 59 cents in my desk drawer. think that's enough to sue RSX? how much do you have?

  107. cat, i loved that title as well. it was...really odd. and someone who can make up a title like that? they are Our Kind of People. but it is gone. IT'S GONE! :@

or maybe not. maybe he's saving it for the the "other album".

betty boop also played snow white, fyi, in a cartoon. and we all know the significance there.

    ReplyDelete
  108. AH! I forgot buying rights of that usable words as "It", "is" & "over" may be not that cheap. Ok. We possibly will be not THAT moneybags after all.

  112. Always a good to see a preview of what will happen; can it please wait until 4:13 Dream comes out?

  113. cat: I'll ask my mommy for giving me pocket money earlier. if it will still not suffice, we have to sell self-made lemonade, I guess!?

    ReplyDelete
  114. sof, stop pounding it in. I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE.

yes, anyone who can name a song Baby Rag Dog Book is obviously Tuned In to the Fucking Awesomeness of the Cosmos. i mean, it just "fit" the sensibility of the song. it was such a random improvised stream-of-consciousness intuitive thing. "it's over" screams BOR-FUCK-ING. it hits the ground with a dull thud, whereas Baby Rag Dog Book conjured fucking WORLDS. it conjured pompadors and motorcycles and sleazy tattoos. it conjured barroom brawls and early johnny cash!

DAMN YOU RSX! bring it back!

moutheyesheart and i - we *will* SUE!

    ReplyDelete
  115. cat, don't make me say something filthy about "pounding it in" please. don't tempt me.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Monkeybutt - be careful you might get a slap on the hand from the main man, Craig. :)

BRDB - I agree, bring it back! It's just fun to say.

    ReplyDelete
  117. monkeybutt, watch it: craig ain't gonna be happy!

sof: mmmmmmmmmm.... RSX pounding it in... yes please!

i did NOT just type that.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Exactly Cat. I couldn't have said it better.

How surprise? The measly english I speak!

You know..it stays the same song for sure but as BABY RAG DOG BOOK it was kind of real kinky hotpants, now it's long johns.

    ReplyDelete
  119. i like the idea of just changing the name in itunes once the cd is imported. that's not the primary way i listen to music, but at least it'll be there in spirit.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Lol, Robert is really seeming to bring back the Wish days. You've got the Wish-sounding first single, the Wish-like album art, and finally, the ending song lets you know when the album's last song is ("End" and "It's Over").

Future names of closing songs include:

    Done
    I'm Finished
    Time's Up
    Silence Ensues
Press Eject (for all y'all old-schoolers out there ;)

    ReplyDelete
  121. Yay and a happy day was had by all.

I am kind of glad they didn't go with more rehashes of previous recordings. Those songs are great but how awesome will it be to hear brand new songs rather than comparing recording sessions/live recordings.

Now if we hear rumblings of a tour I will explode.

    ReplyDelete
  122. LOL Todd, kudos on making me laugh.
I like your titles, Press Eject is cool, is it supposed to reflect on the Only One first name, Please Project?

    ReplyDelete
  123. Hahaha. Maybe It's Over is Roberts subliminal thoughts towards his contract with the "Shitey U".

    ReplyDelete
  124. Oh, how about this song as a closer:
Don't turn the disc on the other side, it's a cd moron.

    It's a bit long, maybe?

    ReplyDelete
  125. Haha, yep Joe, Press Eject was kind of inspired by Please Project. Good catch!

    ReplyDelete
  126. Argh!!! I was busy at work all day and I missed all the fun of the exciting news!?

    Should I quit my job?

    ReplyDelete
  127. "Don't turn the disc on the other side, it's a cd moron" - joe

Otherwise known on CoF as DTtDotOs, iacdM.

Gee, good luck trying to figure out THAT acronym if you don't know the song!

    ReplyDelete
  128. Yeah the tour chats are one of the best things about the tours.

    ReplyDelete
  129. I agree, fantac, quit your job. NOW.
    Get up.
    Walk up to your boss.
    Say you quit.
    It's easy.
    ??????????
    Don't profit.

Rince and repeat until all new Cure news is absorbed.

    ...also stop washing.
And if I ever meet you in our everlasting stupid metro en panne I'll know it's you by the smell.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Hi CURE friends, so far:

Do you like the tracklist and the album cover ?

Are you happy with both ?

Do you wonder where are ABINK and PCH ?

Is coming out on the early 09 the Dark Album ?

Do you like the new song´s titles ?

I think would be a huge shame if ABINK and PCH again doesn´t appear on the album. These gems are two of the best Cure songs of the past 10 years, maybe longer.

I prefer the "old" tracklist that we knew on some press articles.

Now, some of the titles are very simple to me, i know the most important is the music and lyrics, but CURE is well known by great album and songs titles and lyrics.

Which is the real meaning behind the rename of some songs ?

    Commercial purposes ?

I like the cover, to my eyes is like an image of a dream maybe induce by a hypnagogic state.

    :0

So let´s see what news are coming on the next few days as RSx has told.

    :)

  134. i love the title 'Switch'.

single-word titles have had a past, in my experience, of being really good ones. (Screw, Sinking, Want, Halo, Bare, Catch, Burn, Faith, Untitled, Fake... i could go on and on)

i'm excited to hear this one the most so far. xD

  136. craig, are you really that shy? you don't seem shy to me.

if i had to say what i want this album to sound like i would say the fantasy single b-sides crossed with wish and a pinch of icing sugar.

    ReplyDelete
  137. ko - "Screw" is by far my least favorite song on HoTD. :/ But I love all the other ones you mentioned. :)

    ReplyDelete
  138. (beaucoup de chose a dire les ami(e)s) d'apres moi il va surment avoir un autre tournee de show ???

    ReplyDelete
  139. Wow! This totally made my day already! I'm so excited!

At least they didn't replace Baby Rag Dog Book. It's just re-titled. I'm soooo worried that it got kicked out when I saw the tracklist, and so glad to see that it might probably be there! The cover art is very cool, too.

BRING ON THE DARK DREAM TOUR 2009!!! YAY!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  140. Sooooo thankful Baby Rag Dog Book is still there! Thanks for mentioning it's now titled It's Over... I thought the song was gone!
    ...feel better now!

    ReplyDelete
  141. Stop lurking Jenny the Lurker! :p

I don't like knowing the track listing because it just makes me want to hear the songs that much more!! Oh the agony... :(

I thought it was interesting, someone at the Official mentioned that Switch and The Scream were Banshees' song titles? I wouldn’t know.

I never liked the BRDB title. It just sounded so... awkward! It didn't roll off, it just jagged along, and not in a good way. I'm glad they renamed it. I think if there's ONE song from this album that will get radio play, it's that one. The title was the only thing holding it back.

    Clockwise Cat said...
"sof: mmmmmmmmmm.... RSX pounding it in... yes please!"

    Oh...my God. You better hope Robert doesn't read this! I don't know whether to laugh or to recoil from the horrid indecency!! >_<;

    ReplyDelete
  142. helsa: yes, i think we should all recoil in horror from my abjectly lascivious sensibilities. i couldn't resist, though. :-P

    elise, how's el futuro??

PS apparently, BRDB might be on the dark album instead... heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend... (no REO speedwagon jokes please)

    ReplyDelete
  143. oh wait, was i supposed to refrain from posting rumors? if so, sorry craig.

  145. Haha Helsa, you caught me! I can’t help it, lurking here is too much fun ;)

Yep, I'd agree that the only way BRDB could get radio play is to change the title…I thought the original title was fine, but It’s Over sits fine with me as well.

And hey Elise!! :D (big hug)

  150. eric, i am glad you are well. :-)

that's rather expensive in canada, eric.

    ReplyDelete
  151. this has probably been said but...

where's ABINK? or PCH? (Thanks scribs btw :*

it's not as long as i was hoping, he said 17 tracks before. i wonder if he was including ABINK, PCH and something else then?

    ReplyDelete
  152. FINALLY!!!!
Here r my thoughts on this:

1)the cover: this is pretty cool, but 1 thing about covers is if they fit the music as a companion or its own seperate identity. I have a good feeling about this one though.

2)track listing: UTS=awesome. I like them all besides the real snow white title, it just seems a lttle phoney to me.

3)the actual album. I think its going to be pretty poppy and i am wondering how 'its over' is going to fit into the mold of the other songs.

4)dark album: please please please please please please please please Robert!!!! i will beg if i have too...ha ha.

    ReplyDelete
  153. Ok, 24 hours are enough to thinking about...

    1) COVER ART I really like it. Porl is a great guitarist, but he is a great artist to. My first thought was The Head on the door cover (the hand, the head in the air), my second thought was Wish era with the elements in the album cover that were in the singles covers. It's just my impression or it seems someone that keep off (or put on) a mask on his face???
    2) TITLES I think that in some cases when the songs are at demo phase the titles are more evocative and cryptic (Please Project then The Only One; Baby Rag Dog Book then It's over). But the important is the song. If you think at Wish and read the tracklist, some titles are very naive (Open, End, Apart, Trust), but these songs are very powerful
    3) NUMBERS Now we have 13 + 4 songs of this session (album+bsides). So for the Dark Album they have 16 songs, all on album or some bside?

We are waitng for other stuff...

    ReplyDelete
  154. will the dark album be called

    "4:13 NIGHTMARE" ???

    ReplyDelete
  155. Hey Craig,

Looks like Amazon US is releasing the album on 10/14 pre-order, two weeks early. Does that sound real? If so, cool!

    02. Strum
    03. Please Come Home

    are online, poor quality, though!

    ReplyDelete
  157. Kenna: That was an old release date. New date in the US is Oct. 28th. A lot of retailers just haven't updated their info yet.

    ReplyDelete
  158. Thanks, Craig. As ever, you are the answer man.

I'm actually pretty psyched for the Halloween-week release.

  159. So, it looks like we are getting Banshees covers on a Cure album? This reminds me of when Craig made an April Fools joke that The Cure was going to do There's A Planet in My Kitchen. And Siouxsie did do a song called "Lullaby" before The Cure did.

Album artwork looks good but I'm not sure it's conceptually different enough from the prior album cover. Still good though.

    ReplyDelete
  160. OK I'm responding to the topic late once again! Too much too read after being a away for a while but I love it all.

Well it's good to have some 4:13 Dream news from the man himself. Glad to see it looks like BRDB will be on the album although with a less interesting name. It grew on me!!! I love that song & UTS too! The It's Over name is just so-so.

Album art very cool, I like how it goes with the singles & the track listing is looking good too. Can't wait to get it in little over a months time. YEAH!!!

And the Dark Album too! Please Please Please let's hope that one come out soon too!!! No 4 year wait!
