"Just in case I am not the only one who didn't read the ticket confirmation details properly, if you purchased your tickets through Ticketmaster and selected the 'pick-up' option - remember that the pick up is from Ticketmaster - not the SOH. The closest one to the venue is at the State Theatre on the corner of Market and Pitt St... happy travels everyone!"
(Thanks robsmithslipstick)
Update: Actually, you should check your email confirmation/invoice and see where you're supposed to pick yours up. Some will have selected Will Call/Venue Pickup at the SOH, others might have selected a TM retail outlet.

Good info, thanks for that...any idea of opening hours?>
ReplyDeleteFound the opening times sorry...9.00 to 5 pm.State Theatre at 49 Market Street
ReplyDeleteWow, thank you for letting us know! Do you know if can get them the day before the event, or if we are obliged to go twice for the two shows!
ReplyDeleteHey RobSmithLipStick. On my order history, it is written "venue pick-up". Are you sure of what you said?
ReplyDeleteI chose "Venue Pickup" and both confirmation mail and the invoice say I pickup my tickets at the venue. Even in this case, I need to collect my tickets at one of the Ticketmaster outlets?
ReplyDeleteYeah, it does seem strange that you wouldn't be able to pick it up at the SOH. Maybe there were 2 different options? One to pick up at Will Call at the SOH and one to pick up at a TM retail location? I know we get those 2 options for many shows in the US.
ReplyDeleteCheck your email confirmations and be sure of your pickup location.
Yeah, if your confirmation says Will Call or venue pickup, then you need to get them at the SOH.
ReplyDeleteSorry if this has caused any confusion. I'll update the post with this info.
Hmm... but on the Ticketmaster site, it says that you can pick up tickets for any show at their outlets.
ReplyDeleteOkay, just checked TM, and there were 2 pickup options. Please check your confirmation/invoice to see which option you selected.
ReplyDeleteOutlet pickup: From any Outlet nationally up to 24 hours prior to your event, except Venue Tix Outlets in Adelaide which can only print tickets for events at AAMI Stadium. Please refer to Outlet locations for details. All Outlet Pickup tickets must be collected and personally signed for by the credit card holder who is the only person authorised to collect tickets. For identification purposes the credit card holder must present personal ID, the credit card which was used when purchasing the tickets and the account confirmation number.
Venue pickup: All Venue Pickup tickets must be collected and personally signed for by the credit card holder who is the only person authorised to collect tickets. For identification purposes the credit card holder must present personal ID, the credit card which was used when purchasing the tickets and the account confirmation number.
Actually on my tickets receipt it is written:
ReplyDelete"Tickets/Items
AU $285.20
Handling Charge
AU $5.00
Venue Pickup
No Charge
TOTAL CHARGES
AU $290.20
(Total charges include GST)"
So I suppose I have to collect them at the venue, what do you think?
On the other hand, when on my order details it is written:
"Your tickets have been purchased and are in the process of being printed.
If there are any problems with your order, or you don't receive your tickets within 2 business days of the event, please contact customer service. "
But since I don't think I asked for the tickets to be sent to me, I am quite sure I selected venue pickup, so I guess I have to collect them in Sydney at the SOH, right? I'm really confused now!
Bill
Bill, I'm pretty sure that your tickets will be waiting at the SOH. Don't worry about that part about them being sent to you.
ReplyDeleteThanks Craig,
ReplyDeleteBill
By the way, do you know what is this "account confirmation number"? Where do I find this?
ReplyDeleteI think that's just the order number, which you should have in your confirmation email.
ReplyDeleteOk, weird they don't call it "order number" then!? Well I have the receipts anyway, should be alright!
ReplyDeleteThank you Craig,
Bill
Yeah, all I've ever needed was that order number, and rarely even needed that. Just the credit card and ID. Guess it might be different in Australia, but don't really know.
ReplyDeleteBut if you have a printout of the email or the ticket confirmation screen, you'll be fine.
Glad to help, Bill. Sorry this caused some confusion.
Bill i have exactly the same confirmation as yours....I'm sure Venue pick up means SOH...That's where i will retrieve my tickets when i get there..My countdown has started :)
ReplyDeleteDoes anybody know if it's possible to retrieve my tickets at SOH a day before the show?
ReplyDeleteHey, I just checked what my confirm said and it said 'Venue Pick-Up' - so to me - I expected that to be SOH, but on getting there - they had no record of my purchase and sent me to Ticketmaster. I am just glad I didn't leave it till the last minute! I have never heard of the 'Will Call' option so perhaps we don't have that here in Australia? All I needed was my photo ID and the credit card, though if you are coming from overseas I would definitely suggest (and of course you would) take along a copy of the ticket confirmation. I guess overall I would just say that where possible, don't leave the pick up till the last minute. As said at the start of this thread, Ticketmaster is only open till 5pm!
ReplyDeleteWow. That's a bit unsettling. Now I don't know what to think.
ReplyDeleteCould it be that the SOH will not have the tickets until the day of the show?
ReplyDeleteIf it adds any further clarification, my tickets weren't printed till my credit card was swiped - so any ticketmaster would print them. As for whether the SOH won't have the tickets till the day of the event - I am really not sure. When I went to the SOH to get them I told her I was picking up tickets for The Cure - it was only when she had no record and I mentioned them being purchased through ticketmaster that she told me to go to them. So if I had have purchased them through the SOH, I am sure I could have actually picked them up straight away. I can't remember the last time I purchased tickets through ticketmaster so can't say what has happened before - it is very confusing that 'venue pick-up' didn't mean venue pick-up! Things aren't usually this confusing here in Australia : )
ReplyDeleteSorry Craig, if you were meaning that perhaps the SOH wouldn't have the Ticketmaster tickets till the day of the event - perhaps!
ReplyDeleteI thought SOH was holding my tickets like The Pearl did for me at the Las Vegas 2009 show, especially because I was an international customer.
ReplyDeleteDoes anybody know where and when exactly I can retrieve them?
If everything goes well I should get there the day before the first show, I will let people know where I finally got my tickets then if it can help too. Good travel to all overseas fans!
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
ReplyDeleteomfg I sincerly hope that nobody has any hassles in collecting their tickets. Just don't leave it to the last minute huh guys and dolls!
ReplyDeleteI'm picking up my tickets at the OperaBar 1 hour before the show! Love ya, Rachy baby! xo
i tried to pick my TM tickets up from SOH box office yesterday and they said that they wont get the tickets until one hour before the show on the day. so i guess i will be queing there tomorrow and wednesday. i think i will still try to go to TM and check if they could print them out for me.
ReplyDeleteHello from Sydney! Arrived alright yesterday evening, and I managed to get my tickets from Ticketmaster outlet in the State Theater this morning. So I don't know if other people will be able to get them the day of the shows at the venue... Let's hope so!
ReplyDeleteBill
Hey Bill. Glad you made it there safely and didn't have any trouble with your tickets. Good luck to everyone else with theirs!
ReplyDeleteWe are all safe with Olivier who also managed to get his tickets from both Ticketmaster and the ones from the SOH this morning (monday 30). Thank you Craig!
