Cure in the studio for rehearsals
So we're sharing the studio with this lot today...Friday I'm In Love??

New interviews with Reeves
Reeves talks with Guitar Player about his recent projects, to MOJO about David Bowie, and to Classic Rock about the 10 records that changed his life.
Cure comic book covers
Update (02/12/16): The Friday shirt is available today at teevillian for $11.
Update (01/09/16): Some of the artwork is available on shirts, prints, posters, etc. at Red Bubble and Society 6.
From Creative Bloq:
"Art director Butcher Billy turns The Cure frontman Robert Smith into a comic book star – and it's brilliant.
Love comics and The Cure? Then this is the perfect bit of inspiration for you, as Brazil-based artist Butcher Billy has crafted a range of comic covers inspired by frontman Robert Smith, which sees the singer in a range of weird and wonderful environments.
"This frightening series of strange tales is a homage to the goth legend who truly taught us love and darkness," he says of the project. Using song titles and comic book titles, it's a brilliant way to imagine what the stories would contain.
Featuring full colour versions, as well as black and white offerings, the attention to detail is staggering. It won't be just fans of The Cure that'll be able to appreciate the artistry here – illustrators and comic book geeks galore will definitely adore them."
More covers and the black & white versions here.

The Cure play Bestival on September 10th
The Cure will headline Bestival 2016 on September 10th. Tickets are on sale now.
"Saturday night headliners and one of my favourite bands ever, The Cure, played Bestival five years ago and almost had to be dragged off stage after a three-hour mammoth greatest hits set. Robert Smith popped down last year and we shook hands on it all happening again… bring it on!
The Cure's Robert Smith said: "We are very very happy to be back at our favourite festival; we can't wait to play a special set to show the future IS what it used to be…"
One of Bestival HQs favourites and, frankly, one of the greatest bands of all time, The Cure will headline Saturday night when Bestival heads to The Future. From Three Imaginary Boys in 1979 to their most recent album 4:13 Dream, they've forged their own path, dragging everyone else in their wake. Covering the gamut of emotions that take in the heady pop of Boys Don't Cry and Inbetween Days, the heartbreak of Pictures of You and Bloodflowers, the ferociousness of Give Me It and Fascination Street and the dreaminess of Underneath the Stars and Lovesong, their live shows are legendary, taking the crowd on a beautiful rollercoaster ride. So, we really can't wait to welcome them back to the main stage at Robin Hill this September."
(Thanks @christinefalls, @mlindenuk, @waswasere, @GigiBurgdorf)
So does this lend more credibility to the Toronto show being at Bestival Toronto? A package deal? Or less? Bestival not wanting to have the same headliner at both events? Either way, I hope we get some news about Toronto soon.

'Just Like Heaven' cover, 1940s style
From Post Modern Jukebox:
"We took a trip to the 1940s this week for another Postmodern Jukebox debut – this time, by a 20 year old vocalist named Natalie Angst. Watch our vintage remake of The Cure’s “Just Like Heaven” here.
Despite her age, Natalie is an old soul, and is more familiar with recordings by Ella Fitzgerald than she is with modern-day pop. She did have a favorite song by The Cure, though: “Just Like Heaven,” which, like a Glenn Miller record, has a strong, identifiable melody. I worked out an arrangement to give the tune a 1940’s twist, and added Lemar Guillary on trombone and Jacob Scesney on sax to add in some Tex Beneke-Style solo work.
You can download the song on iTunes by clicking here."

25 Most Anticipated Tours of 2016
From Consequence of Sound:
04. The Cure
The Cure are an institution at this point. The goth pop-rockers have been going steady since 1976, releasing 13 albums and helping teenagers of multiple generations deal with their complex feelings. While some of their later work has not been as critically adored, their live performances have remained remarkably steady. Robert Smith’s voice remains a timeless bastion of heartache and longing, sweetly crooning over the band’s impeccable post-punk arrangements. It’s a time for old fans to rekindle their love for the band and for new fans to find that emotional release promised from their parents’ old copies of Disintegration. We’re lucky to have The Cure still going strong and shouldn’t take this opportunity for granted. –Dusty Henry

Thank you, David, and farewell
One of those mornings where you wake up feeling good, looking forward to the day, then you check the news and your heart just breaks as you scream, "NO!". What an amazing man and an amazing life. The words Icon, Legend, Genius get thrown about too freely these days, but David Bowie was the true embodiment of those words. One of a kind artist, never to be seen again.
And I love that even while going through the awfulness that is Cancer, he still found the strength and grace to put together one last collection of songs, to give us all one final gift. Thank you so much, David! For this and everything else you gave us. Farewell, sir.
From The Telegraph: David Bowie's last release, Lazarus, was 'parting gift' for fans in carefully planned finale.
You can also thank David for long Cure shows.
Thanks @object29
