Limited run of Simon's new bass in 2017

Good news for those who were hoping to be able to buy their own version of Simon's new yellow bass, Schecter has plans to do a limited run of them, starting Jan. 1st, 2017.

The bass was designed by Nancy Dorothy Wakeman, and she posted some info on her design here:

"The Cure are currently out on a year long world tour. Earlier this year, I was comissioned by the bassist, Simon Gallup, to help him design a new bass, exclusively for this 2016 tour. He had a vague idea of what he was after, he wanted some kind of English lion, a rose, and it absolutely had to be yellow!

The illustration style of the lion is intended to resemble a woodcut print, this was a decision I made in order to give the lion a sense of age and history."

Nancy & Michael Ciravolo, president of Schecter and native New Orleanian, at the Hollywood Bowl show on May 22nd, 2016.

Update (Nov. 23rd, 2016):  Eric got an update, sort of, on this : "No news yet. We will be making that announcement shortly via facebook, twitter, and our website."

Robert hurts, then hugs, Roger last night :)

So funny! And watch until the end for the real hug. Have I ever mentioned how much I love this band and the wonderful people in it?

(Thanks Roger O'Donnell Discography)

Update (Nov. 12th, 2016): You can read the full interview at Collide, but here's an excerpt:

Whilst busy with his touring commitments to The Cure for the foreseeable future, O’Donnell has a number of other projects and collaborations percolating and waiting to unfurl once his weary bones find their way back home.

“I have several projects that I am working on at the moment but which are, for the most part, on hold whilst I tour with The Cure. I’m producing a classical ballet with Les Saisons Russe in Moscow based on the Oscar Wilde story ‘The Picture of Dorian Gray’. We have been working on this for a few years now and it’s a rather large project to say the least!” he laughs.

"I have another piece for piano and string quartet based on a Ted Hughes poem, 'The Crow Falls', which will be choreographed for the prima ballerina Veronika Part. We’ll be performing that next March in New York at the invitation of Philip Glass at Carnegie Hall. It's a very big project and a lot of work, but I'm incredibly proud of it". (Thanks Andi)
