  4. Pardon me, I haven't been paying attention to the Cure world since Sidney. Do we know the Bestival lineup officially?

  5. Clarification: By lineup, I mean, which people will be playing together, and calling themselves "The Cure" (besides Rob, Simon, and Jason)

  6. The Bestival band will be known as Schectcure and will be performing the last two albums in their entirety. Rumor has it that the encore will be nu-metal versions of the pop singles.

  7. I heard Boris is on tambourine and bongos, sweeeeet!

  8. Vagabond Sun, that's awesome!

I also heard a rumor that the next big announcement will be Rob switching over to Mesa Boogie.

  9. They'll do like in Rome and play the premiere of the new dark album in full.

  11. I'd like to see PJ and Björk on stage with the boys. I hope that Robert will give a few interviews and information about so many subjects we'd like to hea him about : re releases, Nightmare 5:14, line up, Sorentino's movie, the end of times...
Craig, shall you gaher fans questions and submit them to Robert ? Maybe he'd be ok to answer some of them. With a very special price for the funniest question !
Nothing to do with what I wrote above but I was reading old press articles and a journalist's comment really made me laugh : "Robert Smith is the Mark Knopfler of New Wave" : brilliantly stupid but very funny.

  12. wasn't there a fan q&a on the official couple of years ago that never happened?

  13. @Antti

    Probably.

Someone could say "wasn't there a ______ at the officials site ___ year(s) ago that never happened?" And the answer would more than likely be yes.

  18. David, no, I don't think this would be the right time for me to try and put something like that together.

  19. Hahaha...I asked about 50 question in that Cure.com Ask Robert thing. Wasn't that going to be included on the 30th anniversary dvd or something? As J. said, there have been so many things mentioned as possible releases, that I have forgotten half of them. : )

Yeah, Robert really hasn't given any interviews about the future of The Cure, or Cure projects, lately. Probably still trying to sort out what comes next, and will announce it when he's ready. But I am betting we get an interview at Bestival. Just hope the interviewer asks the right questions.

  20. Also, we might be reading too much into what Rob said in that tweet. Robert's email could just be confirming that The Cure will do a 2.5 - 3 hour show, or that Robert will be doing a guest spot with Crystal Castles, Japanese Popstars, or someone else.

Where are Murdoch's phone hackers when you really need them? : )

  21. i actually really hope it's rsx joining either cc or jps on stage. that would be something different!

  22. They are on the same bill as the Village People...

  23. lol @J.

and i'm guessing roger will probably be there, porl probably won't. we'll know soon enough, i guess :)

  24. is this where i say sure big bang festival stages should have more guest vocal spots & swear to it I thought I seen Robert gasing it on Hollywood Blvd in an electric blue Toyota hybrid on his way to turn Bestival up to '11 & I asked Andy Anderson on fb to go with me & I'd gladly pay his way said he's not gonna be going to Bestival this year so no renunion Top shows yet either... & bet you $50 back to a three piece for Bestival & eventually The Cure can be a mystery different line-up any concert night yes!

  26. I'm guessing the band will be a 3 piece as well.

If the shows are about making some money with relatively little effort, why split the money 4 ways?

Does that seem too crass and capitalistic for a band like The Cure?
