also, probably about time for a cure tribute/cover (argh...) band in oz? there used to be one in Adelaide in the 80s. as always, the Robert character was more miss than hit. but hey, it was kinda nice to hear the tunes live on more regular rotation than every 8 years. I must say that that belgium curiosity band is actually pretty impressive. plus they have no hair, which is great for a cure cover band.
@ml68 - there's no tribute band - just lots of Cure music, Cure song covers and music of other artists who were influences to or influenced by the Cure!
Jo, I think ML68 is saying it's time for there to be an Australian tribute band again. Maybe something you can all discuss at the party and get something together? What instrument can you play, Jo? Or would you rather sing? : )
And you'd have to name your band Wishful Thinking, right? : )
I reckon I could start off on drums, have everybody hurl abuse at me for being shite so I drnk myself into a stupor and make the jump to keyboards.. Hmm, why does that sound so familiar?!??
Yeah, went to this and it was good fun. Met Fuji and he saw himself in a pic i took on my phone of the Opera house stage before Reflections began. Good dj'ing Brad and Explodingboy
Yay Brad and Jo, wish I could be there!!! ;0)
ReplyDeleteWho is this DJ? I hear he's very good.. :p
ReplyDeleteI'm excited!!! Wish all our Cure-y peeps could be there.... I'll have a drink (or two) to absent friends.
