sorry Craig
ReplyDeletebut in the "world charts" the first week 62.00,in second week 38.000!!??.
how it works?????????????
They sold 62,000 in the first week, then sold 38,000 in the second week.
ReplyDeleteok the total is 100.000.
ReplyDeleteI thought worse.
thanks to you Craig
Thank you!
ReplyDeleteYikes.
ReplyDeleteFor an alternative band , well known yes , a 100.000 units in 2 weeks is not bad at all.
ReplyDeleteYou don't need and cannot compare 2008 with 2004 , record sales have been sliding since the mid nineties.
Just compare with other more high profile pop artists who cannot even reach the Cure's first week sales.
Just checked , in 2004 The Cure was 8 weeks in the World chart ,
ReplyDeletenow probably only 2 weeks and with a much better album.

ReplyDeletebloodflowers 300.000
the Cure 326.000
That world chart? It means only 100,000 world-wide in the last 2 weeks? If so, then Yikes!
ReplyDeleteBut they are #5 on that Toastmaster chart. Or whatever the heck that is :)
Its just a shame, to me, that the 2004 album is outperforming 4:13 by a 3 to 1 margin.
Bob: Those numbers from Billboard are total US sales as of Jan. 08. Those are NOT world sales. Just don't want anyone to be confused by that.
ReplyDeleteexcuse was implicit the thing.sorry for my english.
