Update (March 31st, 2016): Presale for single day tickets today. Code is Sundaybest. Public on sale April 1st at 10 am eastern. Also, the daily lineups have been announced.
And as Paul points out, Robert has also added this to the original announcement:

IF?!?! Seriously? Now that you've posted that, if the band plays even a 149 minute set, some will be chasing you out of Toronto with pitchforks and torches! :)

From the official site:
WE HAVE BEEN BLOWN AWAY BY THE RESPONSE TO OUR JUNE 7TH SHOW AT THE XCEL ENERGY CENTER MINNEAPOLIS-ST PAUL - THANK YOU!
WHEN WE SAW HOW OVERWHELMING THE DEMAND WAS IN THE PRE-SALE, WE DID OUR BEST TO MEET IT BY SLIGHTLY INCREASING THE CAPACITY FOR THE PUBLIC ONSALE, BUT APPARENTLY IT WAS NOT NEARLY ENOUGH…
SO AS A GESTURE OF GOODWILL TO THE MANY FANS THAT HAVE BEEN UNSUCCESSFUL IN THEIR BID TO GET TICKETS, WE HAVE TAKEN THE VERY UNUSUAL STEP OF AGREEING TO 'PUSH THE STAGE BACK' EVEN FURTHER IN ORDER TO FREE UP MORE SEATS
THIS WILL INEVITABLY MEAN THAT SOME FANS ALREADY WITH TICKETS WILL BE A BIT FURTHER AWAY FROM THE STAGE, BUT IT WILL ALSO MEAN THAT THE MANY FANS WITHOUT TICKETS WILL NOW GET A (SECOND) CHANCE TO EXPERIENCE THE SHOW
WE REALLY HOPE THIS DOESNT CAUSE ANYONE ANY UPSET – AND WE PROMISE THE CONCERT WILL BE GREAT WHEREVER YOU ARE IN THE VENUE!!!
THE NEW ONSALE WILL BE MONDAY 21ST MARCH @ MIDDAY CT
6/7: St. Paul, MN
Xcel Energy Center
On Sale: Monday, 3/21 @12pm CDT / 5pm GMT

A gaggle of guitars
"Two Reeves Gabrels Spacehawks; a six-string bass custom-made for me; and a Manta Ray 390 from a limited edition of ten (2011). All by Reverend Guitars."
"as yet unreleased tracks"
That's the phrase that we've all been curious about since The Cure first announced the 2016 tour, promising a mix of "hits, rarities, favourites and as yet unreleased tracks". What unreleased tracks? Does that mean a new album? EP? Single? The 4:14 tracks? We still don't know. But here's another little clue that something new might be coming.
On the official site, there's been a change in the Words section. The 2005 - ? link is now 2005 - 2009. And there's a new link 2010 - 20?? No lyrics there yet, but why would that change be made unless there were lyrics to be added soon? Very interesting, isn't it? Unless it's just to add some of the solo/collaboration lyrics from the past few years. But lets hope it's for these "as yet unreleased tracks". (Thanks fmjews)

Music can be the cure
A mention of Robert's charity work in this article at The Whig:
"I began to write this column about The Cure's new North American trek and how excited I am that the Brit band is back and touring. Robert Smith and his band The Cure saved me during those delicate high school years. When one feels disenfranchised, music can be a great friend. The Cure's songs and Robert's lyrics are still with me today.
What most people don't realize is the charity work Robert has done for the Catholic Agency For Overseas Development (CAFOD), an agency for overseas development, promoting human development and social justice. Robert is also a supporter of Teenage Cancer Trust, focusing on the needs of teenagers and young adults with cancer, leukemia, Hodgkin's and related diseases."

Toronto announcement soon?
For those still holding out hope that the Toronto show wouldn't be at Bestival, and used last year's dates (a Friday and Saturday, so The Cure can't play, they'll be in Chicago) as your proof, that hope is fading fast.
Bestival has announced this year's dates, Saturday June 11th & Sunday June 12th, and a new venue. Still no official confirmation, and there's still a chance this is all a coincedence, but The Cure are playing Toronto on June 12th, Bestival needs a headliner Sunday night, Bestival and Robert have a good relationship, so...we should know something very soon.
(Thanks @akajoeyjones)
Update (March 10th, 2016): Looks like we get our answer, one way or the other, tomorrow at 9 am eastern.

More Cure love from Jenny Lee Lindberg
From Q Magazine (April 2016).
I First Made Love To This
Pictures of You, The Cure (1989)
"I was obsessed with The Cure when I was in High School. I had Cure posters all over my wall. At 15, my first real boyfriend also really loved The Cure. Before that, I thought I was gonna save myself for marriage, because I grew up religious, but then I met this person and I was really in love with him, and I lost my virginity to Pictures of You, which I thought was really romantic! I love that all Robert Smith's songs are so romantic. It gave me hope - oh, I want to feel that, that intense deep love that I'd never experienced before. Pictures of You is sad, though - ironic that I lost my virginity to it..."
