A mention of Robert's charity work in this article at The Whig:
"I began to write this column about The Cure's new North American trek
and how excited I am that the Brit band is back and touring. Robert
Smith and his band The Cure saved me during those delicate high school
years. When one feels disenfranchised, music can be a great friend. The
Cure's songs and Robert's lyrics are still with me today.
What most people don't realize is the charity work Robert has done
for the Catholic Agency For Overseas Development (CAFOD), an agency for
overseas development, promoting human development and social justice.
Robert is also a supporter of Teenage Cancer Trust, focusing on the
needs of teenagers and young adults with cancer, leukemia, Hodgkin's and
related diseases."
