Charlotte show included in TM free vouchers

If you received any of the free vouchers or discount codes from the TM lawsuit settlement, The Cure's show in Charlotte, NC on June 23rd is included in the list of eligible shows.

From Mass Live:

Ticketmaster is offering 50 million of its customers vouchers for free tickets and discounts thanks to a hefty class-action lawsuit settlement.

And if you've bought a ticket through the service between late 1999 and early 2013, you should have at least one voucher sitting in your Ticketmaster account.

Ticketmaster released Tuesday an initial list of 450 shows across the U.S. eligible for the vouchers, including The Cure, Bob Dylan, Mumford and Sons, Snoop Dogg with Wiz Khalifa, Weezer, and Modest Mouse with Brand New.

Dates for the concerts range from this week to September.

The vouchers are a result of a class-action lawsuit over "deceptive" and "jacked up" service fees, according to Billboard magazine.

Customers are poised to receive one voucher for each ticket bought through Ticketmaster during the class period -- from Oct. 21, 1999 through Feb. 27, 2013 -- with a cap of 17. The vouchers expire in 2020.

Tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Consequence of Sound has already reported technical issues with the voucher system, with some customers saying their voucher codes weren't accepted at checkout.

  1. If your code isn't accepted, keep trying. Ticketmaster's servers are being overworked currently.

  2. It's worth noting that the free ticket vouchers are only being accepted for GA LAWN seats, not the more expensive reserved pavilion seats, and not even the rear pavilion seats that are in the same price range as LAWN seats.

  3. Well, selfishly I was hoping that there wouldn't be as many people at the show (since the crowd LOVES to sing along to every song and drown out Robert's voice, except for when they play obscure songs, in which the crowd then LOVES to talk). But, I'd love to see The Cure add another "sold out show" to their tour... so here's hoping people take advantage of the free TM tickets and fill up the pavilion! And here's hoping that people don't sing along so loud! Especially since Robert enjoys switching up the cadence of the words for almost every song... which results in the crowd singing the words in the album's cadence and Robert singing the words either before or after the crowd sings them. Come to think of it... maybe that influences his singing. Maybe he sings it off-cadence cos he doesn't want the crowd to drown him out... or maybe to confuse the crowd... or maybe cos he enjoys hearing the crowd sing his songs.... or... who knows!! I'm excited as (#*&$(@* to see The Cure!!!

  4. Plenty of lawn seats, but ticketmaster is saying that voucher seats are sold out. Looks like that had two small general admission sections set aside for the vouchers.

  5. I got my ticket codes but there is nothing left on the list that even slightly interests me and that is anywhere near where I live. So does that mean at this point, the codes are basically worthless....??!!
