  2. Hahahaha. I mean, I'm excited as heck still but what will people have to complain about now?? Pretty selfish of the band here to be honest

  3. A "full" 2.5 hour set...no, a "full" Cure set is 3 hours...unless, for this tour...hmmmmm

    1. It's more than a full set for a festival show. Most bands get 90-120 for their sets. So, yes, it's a full set.

And there's no guarantee these shows are going to be 3-4 hours each night as some delusional fans think.

This is a fairly grueling months long tour. 3 nights in a row, 5 nights a week a lot of the time. Not just a handful of shows here and there.

If the band decides to cut it down to 150 minute shows, and only occasionally play longer when they feel like it, no one should whine and moan about it.

    2. Craig, thank you for being a voice of reason. I should hope so many of the ardent fans who read your blog would have faith that The Cure is a hard working band that puts forth whatever they can when they play. In order to make sure they can still perform in December, they will have to pace themselves! I want every fan, from those in NOLA to London, to be able to see a fresh band, and hear Robert's voice unstrained and intact. I have no doubt the shows will be great, even if they are not 3 hours long.

    3. They won't be 3 hours you are right. My bet is 2 hour set, 30 mins for encores.

  4. I'm wondering if this 2.5 hours includes an encore or not? If the encore isn't included, then it could go closer to 3 hours.

    1. No, they have 150 minutes total. The band has to work out how they want to structure that. 120 for the set, 30 for encores, 150 for a set with no encores, etc.

  5. My only concern is they will still play obvious hits for festival crowd while regular shows should be more interesting. Anyway, I'm going to Montreal instead

  6. They have played many rarities at festival dates; Just One Kiss, Burn, Cut Here...
