Will be my first time seeing The Cure in Colorado, and my first time seeing them play in a football stadium parking lot. Or any type of parking lot, for that matter. :) Should be fun!
Update (08/16/14): And my Chicago pass arrived today! 2nd time seeing them in Illinois, though first time in Chicago proper. Dream Tour was in Tinley Park, IL. My favorite show on that tour, and Top 5 of all time.
Also my 2nd time seeing them in a city park, and at a festival. Voodoo 2013 was the first for both of those.
Now to hope for no schedule conflicts, so that I can see some combination of The Cure, Billy Bragg, Tegan & Sara, Cheap Trick, and Weezer. But if I can just see The Cure & Billy Bragg, I'll be happy.
Sorry for the useless post, just a bit excited about this. :)

I am heading to Denver from LA, super excited! It would be cool to meet you :)
ReplyDeleteIn Denver you can find me at the wrestling ring on Saturday. I'll be the one winning all of the matches, hoisting the championship belt at the end of the night. :)
DeleteCraig still rules, brother!
DeleteWhatcha gonna do, brother, when CoFamania runs wild all over you? :)
DeleteMy first for Colorado and a parking lot as well. Haha. 've seen them *inside* a football (well, soccer football actually) stadium, in South America.
ReplyDeletewasn't the milan gig in a parking lot?
DeleteLol, I guess you're right! I forgot about that. :)
DeleteSo excited for everyone!
ReplyDeleteWe are about as deep into the summer doldrums as it's possible to get. Where are the new releases!? And will there be any mid-week shows during the Riot Festivities? And are they going to play an entire album in Denver and Chicago? And and and....
ReplyDeleteAnswers:
Delete1. In Robert's attic.
2. Doesn't look like it.
3. Maybe, but probably not.
Of course all of this may change tomorrow, so these answers are useless. :)
I'm really excited about the show in Denver as well! I was thinking that maybe the Riot Fest organizers will use a late announcement of "The Cure will play Disintegration (or whatever) in it entirety" as a way to sell the final batch of tickets as sales start to lag. Fingers crossed. If they do something special like that, I will probably fly to Chicago. Otherwise, I'll be happy with just the Denver show. I actually think the lack of extra shows is a sign that they are working on an album in between the performances. Fingers double crossed!
DeleteJust bought a ticket for Chicago ! Will be there for a conference so perfect timing ! My first US Cure show !
ReplyDeleteAwesome! This is going to be good!
DeleteAwesome! I saw them in a parking lot too when they did Jimmy Kimmel! Enjoy
ReplyDeleteIt' not a useless post! Your words reflect the love for this band and the passion that made you create this site, a reference point for thousands of fans around the world. Thanks for everything. Enjoy the shows
ReplyDeleteAgree.
DeleteDitto.
DeleteAw, thanks. I'm just excited to be seeing The Cure on a regular basis again. I went through a 7 year dry spell that started 10 years ago. Now I've seen them twice in 2011, twice in 2013, and now twice in 2014. I could get used to this. :)
DeleteIt's never enough!!!
Deleteenjoy mate - from the present to the unrelated past, stumbled on this recently, not much live Dempsey out there - early early days! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBQpSzKeXyY
ReplyDeletecheck out the reggae ending!
i'll be in chicago too! can't wait!
ReplyDeleteI am so excited for you, Craig.... and I have everything crossed that you will (at least) be able to see Billy Bragg, too. He tells such great stories :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jo! Yeah, I love Billy. Have only seen him once, and that was way back in 1988. Been way too long. So unless he's playing at the same time as The Cure, or early in the day, I will see him.
DeleteMagic WILL happen. I can feel it :)
