Night 5 of the LatAm 2013 tour. They're halfway home, 4 shows down, 4 more to go. First time ever in Chile, and another massive stadium show. At least 35,000 (now said to be 47,000!) fans should be there tonight, and we all hope each & every one of them has the time of their lives!
Buenos Aires got the first playing of Primary on this tour, will Santiago get a first, too? Maybe Same Deep Water As You? Plainsong/Disintegration set opener/closer again, or back to Open/End? Kiss Me encore? Disintegration encore? Pornography encore? Lots of questions now that there's been some changes to the sets. We'll get some answers soon.
Tonight's schedule: Gates open at 6 pm, Amoniaco at 7 pm, Prehistoricos at 8 pm, The Cure at 9 pm. Check the local time in Santiago here or with the clock over there on the right.
Warning: There are only 4 more of Roger's magical autographed tambourines left in existence! Try to capture one tonight! But be kind and don't fight or injure anyone while doing so. It isn't really magical....or is it? :)
We have commitments from a few reporters tonight, but if anyone else who's going to the show would like to help us, especially with the song by song live setlist reports, please contact me. Can never have too much backup. Post in the comments, email me at craigatcof(at)gmail(dot)com, or on Twitter @CraigatCoF, or use WhatsApp (email me and we can set it up). Thank you so much, and enjoy the show!
Have fun Chile!. Enjoy the show with all your heart. The Cure rocks and it's the most beautiful experience :)ReplyDelete
Reporting in from Santiago! I think my phone is set with data and I have tons of battery life with me. Looking good for reportage so far.ReplyDelete
Excellent! Have a fantastic time in Chile!Delete
Heron, sweetheart ! So glad you're in Chile for The Cure. Hope you'll get a chance to say hi to our European friends who reached or are about to reach LatAm : Fred, Antoinette, Nico, Antti, Tom, Vicky, Mauro, Bill and maybe a few others. Give 'em a big kiss for me. And enjoy as much as you can (I see your smile in my head!).Delete
David, thank you for your sweet words, I have met up with Vicky, Antti and Christine last night, and met a couple of new Cure friends too! I think Mauro and Bill are going to other shows, and hopefully I will meet up with more people today! We are already having a wonderful time thanks to our gracious Chilean hostesses and cannot wait for the show tonight! Love to all the Cure peeps!! <3 <3 <3Delete
Greetings to antti from me (gerald). Have fun.Delete
Mauro and Bill will be heading to MXC. I'm so glad for you all. Europe+US +LatAm=fantastic cocktail, but where's Australasia, Jo ?Delete
Tell Antti, Vicky and the gang hello from me. And tell all of them that they better have a great time tonight. :)Delete
Craig, buddy, feel free to post the entire interview. I don't know/think La Segunda will use the whole of it.ReplyDelete
Here's the link to my facebook page is someone is interested : http://facebook.com/?story_fbid=501767259884491&id=1808522171&_user=1808522171
Thanks, David. I posted just a few minutes ago.Delete
Some articles say attendance could reach 50,000. Will Santiago beat Buenos Aires tonight?!!!!!ReplyDelete
Could be true as it seems that 47,000 tickets have already been sold.Delete
Craig, I don't know if you saw this through all the Buenos Aires madness, but here in Santiago they have The Cure on cases of beer http://t.co/L3s8McP5HMReplyDelete
Oh wow, yeah, still catching up on BA right now. So much stuff! :) But that is awesome! Bringing some home with you? :)Delete
I hope someone will make some pictures of the crowd. That would be nice :-)ReplyDelete
Have a great time all of you.Just a LITTLE envious right now ;(ReplyDelete
What is with the "50 lucky winners" for the front? Did they actually win something? Or just lined up crazy early?ReplyDelete
Super excited to follow along tonight! Have fun everyone! <3
Sounds like they were the winners of a contest.Delete
hmmm.... ok. Have you heard of contests for other cities?ReplyDelete
Yes. Tickets, Meet & greets, etc.Delete
ok, thanks Craig. Guess I haven't been following along as well as I thought I was.Delete
Oh I haven't posted every one of them, just some. Found out about others after the contests ended, or after the shows.Delete
ahh.. ok. So, have you heard about any for Mexico City? That's the show I get to see. :)Delete
(And sorry, not sure where else to have this conversation.)
No problem. Not that I can remember. And nothing for a meet & greet or early entry. If I do, I'll be sure to post it.Delete

Wrong number, even though it sounds terribleReplyDelete
No, that's how it always sounds. Horrible. :)Delete
hahahahaha, come on. Wrong Number is a fun song...and the guitars sound crazy live!Delete

Neuroquioz, I'm not on twitter but in the case you read this, infinite many thank for this 1 1/2hour streaming! You made so many people happy by this and can't imagine how stunning this was for me to hear them once again in peak form.ReplyDelete
It's 4 a.m. in germany right now, so I have the shortness of time left to work (6 a.m. to get up :( ) by sleeping. Have fun all of you with the second stream!
Cleo, the stream isn't active at the moment. :(ReplyDelete
yes, unlucky Shawn..but I'm SO happy I got to listen to The Cure again live. It was so beautiful :DDelete

What happened in Chile? Only 38 songs for them!...well at least they've got The Same Deep Water As YouReplyDelete
Some songs weren't reported at first. Now we have it all in, and they got the most so far. 42!Delete
They also played primary , cold, strange day and hanging garden. They were all in one encore. There was just two encoresReplyDelete
Thanks! Was it Same Deep Water or Prayers for Rain for the 1st encore?Delete
So from same deep to hanging garden in one encoreReplyDelete
Sds, primary, cold, a strange day, hanging gardenReplyDelete
After same deep water, no prayersReplyDelete
So the first encore was same deep, shake dog, charlotte, primary, cold, strange dsy, hsnging gardenReplyDelete
Sorry, Charlotte after sds I thinkReplyDelete
Thank you both so much! Very confusing night once the livestream ended. What a show!!!ReplyDelete
What a show indeed! After the main set robert asked if we wanted to hear songs from disintegration or pornography.Delete
Like there's any other answer but YES!!! :)Delete
why does he still insist on playing wrong number? this will confuse me til the end of my days.ReplyDelete
To piss me and thousands of other Cure fans off. :)Delete
Nah, you know it will always be played as long as Reeves is with them.
i know, and i'm going to love them anyway ;)Delete
Yeah, me, too. And when they play an encore like the 1st one tonight, they can play it 10 times in a row and I won't mind. :)Delete
We are scrambling for food at 2 am in a local bar, but just quickly, the venue was packed full, the band was incredible, so full of energy! The opening bands were great and the crowd was very into the show. Robert sounded great and I have to say same deep water was insanely, epically beautiful. More later :-)ReplyDelete
Please tell me you got video of SDWAY. :)Delete
And i have to say cold has never sounded better.ReplyDelete
I'm so so so sorry to say I did not! *cries* My camera chose that exact time to sieze up. I was missing the song because I was trying to make it work, so I just gave up. I had to pull the battery to force reboot it.ReplyDelete
Oh well. Hopefully someone did. Better to take the song in and experience it, than to fumble with the camera. You made right choice. :)Delete
There were a LOT of cameras there! I'm sure someone has it. I did get a lot of other great stuff.ReplyDelete
Fabulous first encore!ReplyDelete
Looks like a great set!ReplyDelete
Congratulations Chile, you had the best LatAm setlist so far!ReplyDelete
Nice setlist... Robert really screws up the words on Mint Car :D Otherwise they seem to be in good shape.ReplyDelete
Amazing show and the first encore was perfection. I could not have asked for anything more. (Unless they played just one kiss, too) ;)ReplyDelete
Everything was perfect. The company, our location, our view of the stage, and the setlist. It was...simply elegant.
Ps I filmed tape and open ill get my video on as soon as I'm home. Which is sometime tomorrow.ReplyDelete
Now that is an encore to die for.ReplyDelete
Am I the only one who would prefer Dressing Up being removed from the setlist in favor of Piggy In The Mirror?ReplyDelete
No Same Deep Waterr videos?ReplyDelete
I also hope someone will make some pictures of the crowd.ReplyDelete
No way there were 50.000 people at Estadio Nacional, 40.000 people looks more correct according to my evaluation.ReplyDelete
