  1. I sold out to the scalpers and have row C tickes.
This is my first Cure show after four years of complete and utter obsession.
    I'm going on crutches.

OHHHHHHMYYYYYYGOOOOOOOTH *fangirlsqueal* I am so so so psyched :D

But since the encore's been the same the last three shows, does anyone think it'll switch up?

  3. So excited!! Just got to L.A. But I don't see small crowds of "Cure fans" milling around the streets yet. Shouldn't be long though.

  4. Get there on time, 730 sharp, or miss out tonight. Nederlander sent out a tweet today saying it is 730 sharp. The past two nights, they started about 30mins late, but Robert seemed annoyed at having to wait for people to get there, hence I suspect, todays tweet! And they have to pack up, and get the hell outta dodge! So don't be late, or you will miss something special!

  5. *GASPS*
Craig! How could you say such a thing when they're on such a strong vibe at the moment!!
You'll jinx the whole thing and then we'll NEVER get our "Dark" album!!
Haha!! Just joking - have a blast whoever's going! I have a feeling in my bones that something special IS going to happen.. *fingers crossed*
And then, Craig it's YOUR turn! YAY!!!

  6. @Lia - the encores have been the same the last FIVE shows, I'd be surprised if they change.... but you never know

  7. no close encounter pics or stories this time around? the band's keeping a low profile? would be nice to see something ...

  8. It won't be the last Cure show by a long shot. RS has said see you next year for either 'the top' or the next 3 at the end of each show.

  9. @ MojoJackson808

RS made a comment the first night about having to wait for everyone to get in their seats. He sounded like he was joking around to me, but perhaps he was annoyed if it happened again last night.

Lazy LA people. New Yorkers won't be late.

  11. I was in no way saying, or implying, that this was the last time you'd see them. Just saying to enjoy it like it WAS the last time you'd ever see them. Take it all in, don't take photos/video, don't tweet, don't talk during the show, don't do anything but let the band control your every emotion for those 3+ hours. Get lost in the moment and block out everything/everyone else.

  12. Despite the tweet and other warnings, the show didn't start until 8PM again.

  13. @Craig - I was only joking around in my post.. But you already knew that! :)

  14. Oh I know. Just making sure the Doctor understood. : )

  15. "Stay tuned for something special" RS says.

  22. First off the show was absolutely incredible tonight, the band simply amazing. All Cats Are Grey and The Funeral Party were a religious experience. Descent and Splintered In Her Head was another highlight of the show with the band sounding at the top of their craft.

The only downside was the people around me. I tried to stand up for the first song and got cussed at, called an asshole and told to sit down. Then people started throwing things at my back. I looked to my sides and no one else wanted to stand up with me in my row. I had to sit down after one song for fear of being attacked. Why go to a concert to sit down and berate those who want to stand? No one in a five person radius of me seemed to know any songs, but the hits. I feel bad for the band having to look out at some LA people who don't want to get up or any move during a performance.

Despite the rather cold reception from those around me at the beginning it wasn't enough to ruin the evening. It was one of the most amazing concerts and one of the best times I'll always remember.

  23. i met Cindy Levinson she is very nice and gorgeous and i shook Roger's hand, i can't sleep.

  24. Alma....thank you for giving a fellow "Cure fan" a ride to my car!!!

Glad everyone had a great time! The band (except for Roger, who left earlier I believe) finally left the venue around 2:30am. They left, unfortunately no hellos or goodbyes (kind of a bummer). I saw Alice Glass saying goodbye by the van.

What an amazing 3 days....Have fun NY!

  28. Oh my god. A great show...my first cure show...

how can one man be so adorable i'm speechless. And how can one band be so great live. I was searching for a record playing in the corner -- they sound just like the record! And it was live.. I seriously can't get over that

  29. thanks gerald!! tomorrow it starts again for me!

  30. I have a quick question,

I got a signed poster "number 700-something out of 1000"

Only me being so naive.... I don't know whose signature is on the poster..... Whose signature is it? It is just killing me not knowing.

    Thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  31. could it be the artist who designed the poster?

  32. I had second row. It was so awesome! Kelly and Euge were in front of me and Euge even let me switch with him during World War/I'm Cold/Plastic Passion. It was so great to be that close for these shows and even get to lean on the stage. That was a rare thing for me because I don't usually am that close. I can't say this was my 50th show, I can't say I met the band, I can't say I've traveled outside the country to see them...I'm only 23 but I feel that I've accomplished so much. I couldn't have been so lucky without my friends though. Such an excellent show last night! I can't wait to post my videos and pictures!

I know a certain someone that video taped the entire Faith set. :)

  33. It's worth noting that when the show ended, Robert said something to the extent of, "See you again next year. For what...I'm not quite sure yet."

And here's a nice review from the LA Weekly.

  34. You lucky duck, Andy! But it's about time you got close! Also, you kinda did meet some of the band... Got sigs, exchanged words. Not a full hangout session, but I'm counting it in my book!

    ReplyDelete
  35. @cupcake...it is the artists signature who created the poster, I spoke with him a couple times at the show! Cool guy too!
