Consequence of Sound thinks The Cure should do another Curiosa. Not as a tour this time, but as their own festival. Anyone really want that? I'd take that over nothing, but I'd much rather have a proper Cure tour. (Thanks Heron)
I'm glad Curiosa got me to listen more carefully to Mogwai and Interpol, but the rest of the bands were quite crap. I also don't dig under 2 hour Cure shows.
The fact that they managed to put the Curiosa thing up and going was impressive to me first time around. And that was especially interesting because it was a different concept from a usual Cure Tour. Both a travelling or on site festival would suit me.
I didn't travel to the US for Curiosa, but I regret it now. Of course i'd rather have a proper Cure Tour with 3h+ concert, but I'll take whatever they give me.
I dunno, It might work quite well actually, especially if each band member picked the bands equally, say 4 each. The Levellers have there own festival down here in Devon called 'Beautiful Days' been going 10 years or so I went last year it was fantastic.
I'd rather have a new album and tour, I find festivals to be tedious while I wait for the main band to take the stage. I still don't think we will see a new Cure album until 2015.
Curiosa was a blast. If it were to happen again, it would be cool if Robert would add Siouxsie and the Banshees and Cranes to the list. The Rapture completely sucked!!!
Siouxsie & The Banshees? They tried the reunion thing once. It was fun in the moment, seeing them play again at Roseland Ballroom, but in a general sense I think their '7 Year Itch' just served as a reminder of why they split in the first place. Plus her voice is sounding pretty awful these days... just take a listen to The Seven Year Itch Live if you wanna hear Ms. Sioux butcher those old songs.
love to go to a carnival that they put on..i'll be in the fun house...

ReplyDeletePass...
ReplyDeletei'm afraid of who robert smith would pick, frankly. curiosa was just okay.
ReplyDeleteif it were like, beach house or minks or the drums or esben and the witch or tamaryn opening i'd like that very much!
just a regular tour would be great for me...
Tour with opening acts, over festival for me.

ReplyDeleteif The Cure will play a 3h set and if it will be in Vienna – YES!
ReplyDeleteCuriosa was VERY fun, but I wouldn't travel to if it was just a single destination event. Already have Coachella for that.

At this point, anything would work for me but I'd rather have a tour! It's been too long since last seeing them!
