Entreat Plus is currently scheduled as a 2LP set planned for January 11. My guess is that these remixed tracks will be also available on CD/DD with an announcement coming soon." 2. I never tire of the art work on that release...Green, blue, pink and now this...Cool!

  3. Is this the same (controversial) mix as what came with the Disintegration 3 disc remaster?

    ReplyDelete
  4. Hopefully domestic stores will have it a fair bit cheaper; I'm assuming these UK stores are pricing it as an import.

    ReplyDelete
  5. I just hope that the vinyl is analog sourced and not digitally. I have heard the disintegration vinyl was sourced digitally.

    ReplyDelete
  6. How could it NOT be digitally sourced when the remix was almost certainly done in the digital domain?

And that new cover! UGLY! I can't believe how much the colored type detracts from the entirety or the artwork.

On the other hand, I thought the new "Disintegration" 2LP sounded pretty good - perhaps this 2LP version of "Entreat Plus" will take the edge off the remix with that old turntable-added little bit o' warm analog distortion

    ReplyDelete
  7. If this is the same "mix" as disc 3 on the remaster, why in God's name would anyone buy it?

    ReplyDelete
  8. Unless something is significantly different from the horrid CD version (and I can only assume that this is simply that same new CD audio pressed to vinyl), I'm gonna pass.... But bring on the Wish vinyl reissue !!

    ReplyDelete
  9. i agree...to my ears disc 3 of the cd reissue is far less 'warm' than the original release. i tend to listen to the original entreat and fill in the missing gaps with the reissue disc 3.

in addition, why was the disintegration mixed far different than the previous reissues? i remember first hearing the faith reissue on my cd player and was in complete awe in the difference...the same with 3 imaginary boys, pornography,...if i'm not mistaken, robert was a part of remixing all of the reissues.

  11. I think ENTREAT+ sounds better then 4:13 Dream! Playing a song from that album next to another really brings out the compression.

These remastered projects - whether CURE, DURAN or others - seem hit or miss.

    ReplyDelete
  12. "...sounds better than 4:13 Dream" isn't exactly a huge vote of confidence.

  13. Got word from Ideal Copy that they will be selling Entreat Plus for around $23-$26 USD. The selection should be posted on their site shortly.

  14. @Tom: I agree, HOWEVER - "4:13" does sound much better on LP than it does on CD. So maybe this will be the case with the new "Entreat"

    ReplyDelete
  15. My 4:13 Vinyl is totally crap. Even though my local recordshop took it back and gave me another one. No different. The vinyl is very thin und wavy and wobbling. I am happy the new 2LP of Disintegration is very good and makes no problems. Lets hope for entreat plus to be the same...

  20. Wow... what Cure release would be complete without at least one delayed release date?

This better be delayed only to give U.S. fans the special marble design that we were unfairly denied.

    ReplyDelete
  21. A pity - the marble vinyl I ordered directly from Universal still didn´t arrive Vienna. Although shipped at the end of November. I cry, I die!

  22. Sounds like TMU strikes again with pushing back release dates. Grrr!

  24. ^is there really any way to tell for sure? Seems like the audio is from 1996 but the video is from the last tour? What a strange way to edit a video.

  25. @ melt

i haven't recieved mine either and it was shipped nov 30th. i live in helsinki. they probably shipped it with the slowest snail mail there is.

    ReplyDelete
  26. ^^^ yep the audio is from '96 bercy concert. strange.

  27. @antti

Universal told me it could be up to 21 days on the road... Ha, ha! I really hope it didnt got lost somewhere...

  28. @atti

what a surprise! it just arrived. weird enough they sent it from switzerland which is a neighbour country from austria. after 4 weeks.

but the most annoying is: I ORDERED AND PAID FOR TWO LPs and only one arrived...

    That´s pretty unfair.

  29. Hi Craig,

Very sweet cURE spotting i didn't catch some mention about on COF.

I just saw on RTBF2 (Belgian TV) Dita Von Teese doing a "Chinese/Japanese" strip Teese on a very nice Oriental rendition of Lullaby !!!!
(At the beginning and some notes at the end. I'd have liked to hear a full version like that.)

(The other song sounded familiar too but I didn't recognise it.)

I'm sure there must be some videos hanging on the net.

  30. @ melt

so there is hope that it will arrive eventually. mine did not today but hopefully soon!

    ReplyDelete
  31. I received mine the day before Christmas eve, mine was sent november 30th as well. I live in Sweden. For sure it will reach you all shortly.

  33. I'm in Australia and still waiting for mine to be delivered. I emailed TMU but no response.

Having said that, it's strangely reassuring to see that people in europe haven't received theirs either.

  39. Hi everyone,

a little off-topic, but I've always wondered what Robert says to introduce Last Dance and Fascination street on Entreat. I can speak quite good english, and have got used to Robert's accent over the years, but these remain quite mysterious! Here is what I hear for Last dance: "But it's the same that happens to everyone, when you make them appear '???'"and here is what I hear for FS:"Sustain you, somewhere that most of us have been for the past 12 weeks". How far am I mistaken? Can any of you, dear American and English cure fans, give me the real intros ? Thanks very much!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Last Dance: "I'd like just to say this happens to everyone when you meet them a few years later. This is called 'Last Dance'"

Fascination Street: "So, staying new. Somewhere that most of us have been for the last twelve weeks. This is called 'Fascination Street'"

    ReplyDelete
  41. ('So staying new' references that the previous song played on the 3 Wembley nights was 'Last Dance', which was also from the new album...)

  42. Mad bob- live nation is selling tix for that night for Pete Yorn, but no support acts listed there... Unlike other cities.

I think live nation would be the only reputable source for that venue on that night, so sadly no cure show...

  44. From the product description in Amazon:

"When the reissue of The Cure's landmark album Disintegration arrived earlier this year, the vinyl edition featured none of the bonus material included on the 3CD and digital editions - which is why it perhaps comes as no surprise that Entreat Plus, the expanded edition of the band's 1990 live album, now will be released as a separate 2LP set. Originally released as a promo disc in 1990, the eight-track Entreat - recorded at London's Wembley Arena in July 1989 - was later released commercially in Europe. The expanded edition included with this year's reissue fleshes out the album to replicate a full live performance of 1989's epic Disintegration, with tracks remixed by Robert Smith - a sonic makeover that some fans have complained dampens Boris Williams' drumming."

Yes, the drums sound very bad on Entreat+ CD. Will this have a better remix or is it the same?

    ReplyDelete
  45. In 2010 there was no new Cure music. I stand by my prediction that the earliest we will see a new album will be 2013.

  49. Universal can´t send me the second Entreat Plus Vinyl which is still missing and probably got lost in space. Well honey dear Universal, I know it was a limited edition and not possible to get a another one anymore by myself. Thanks.

I am so fucked up with them!
Waiting four weeks and not getting the full order...Also the inner bag from the one which arrived are both teared of, even it was sealed.

  50. Wow melt05 that is terrible D:

  51. I'm so mad, still haven't received the album here in the Netherlands!
Don't know if I should go bezerk on Universal or on the postaloffice.

    ReplyDelete
  52. @Ronald: I don't think it's your post office. There have been reports on CURECONNECTIONS from members in Germany and Australia who say they still haven't received theirs.

I think TMU has messed this one up...again. :(

  53. maybe tmu realised they'll get more money out of the release from ebay;)
seriously though e+ has been going for ridiculous prices at ebay. the lowest price atm is £62 and there's still 5 days left of that auction.

    ReplyDelete
  54. So I could find my missing E+ on ebay? At least TMU paid me back my money.
But money doesn´t make happy - does it? I really wish people who bought E+ to sell it on ebay, the money they earn should make them even more unhappy. It was the same with the Royal Albert Hall gig - I wasn´t allowed to buy a ticket but soon after they showed up on ebay...

Is there any cure in this?
