  5. Mark, roughly about 2 hours or less.

and this is great news, check out McCartney and Killers, they both don't start till after 10pm and I believe the show is over at midnight. That means The Cure going on at 9:25pm will be a hell of a show.

btw, I might need a ride from Los Angeles to Coachella on Sunday morning, if anyone can spare a seat in their car please email me at: andythecurefan@gmail.com so we could talk. Thanks.

  6. what about Public Enemy? It's the only time white people will get to hear "fight the power" live. What about the Orb? Smashing lights and sound. They screwed us on scheduling. The Cure will get a 2 and a half hour set. Hope it's better than 2004 :)

  7. Andy, I doubt the Cure will play less than two hours. Last time they played til about 12:30, even though curfew was midnight. Last year, Prince played til about 1am, even though curfew was midnight. Justice I think played til about 12:45am despite the midnight curfew.

Obviously it's a very expensive fine to play late. But given how much the Cure will be paid for this show, I don't see fines being any sort of inhibiting factor.

  9. Chrystal Method goes on at 11:25 on Friday. Doubt they will end in 25 minutes (but not sure if being in a tent is different). If Bob has his way, they will play a very long long time underneath the stars.

  13. If anyone is in LA, MBV is doing a show at the El Rey tomorrow night and tickets are still available. Don't forget your earplugs for them!

  14. Good point! Anyone going to see the Cure at Coachella should BRING EARPLUGS. The last 20 minutes of the My Bloody Valentine set are going to be above 130db. Basically to put it in perspective, none of the other stages will be active during that time due to the extreme volume of sound coming from the main stage.

If you're planning to get there early to get a good spot for the Cure, and are not familliar with My Bloody Valentine. Consider this a warning.

It's not hyperbole when I warn you that you may not have any hearing left for the Cure after MBV is done if you don't have protection handy.

  15. I wanna go to Coachella SOO bad, MBV before The Cure, conveniently on the same stage. It would be cool to see the Yeah Yeah Yeah's too.

  16. Love to be there! Have fun COF peeps! I doubt I'll be able to stay up late to catch the show updates on the COF. It will be 12:30ish on the east coast when it starts!
