lord, another cure tribute cd? no thanks. every song has been done to death by all sorts of random artists, from 'give me the cure' to '100 tears' to 'friday i'm in love' performed by gloworm. nobody can do anything new with these songs. may as well throw a bunch of feral cats in a filing cabinet and add drum loops. it'd be more exciting to listen to at this point.
ReplyDeleteSo that would be a "no sale" for you Monkey? : )
ReplyDeletemaybe so... but tanya donnelly... meow! yum yum yum.
ReplyDeleteAnd Black Francis ain't no slouch either--I'd be kinda interested in hearing that too.
ReplyDeleteThe Caulfield Sisters are on ALR and I'm *really* hoping they do a cover. Otherwise I could probably skip this one. Though I am curious about Black Francis...
ReplyDeletei thought i was being vague. what clued you in? ;)
ReplyDeleteseriously, i'll probably buy anything at this point, fool that i am. robert's lawn trimmings? sure, why not. as long as it's grass and not...you know...the other lawn.
> as long as it's grass and not...
ReplyDelete> you know...the other lawn.
Lol! :)
It would be good to see famous bands cover Cure songs to make an album. Instead its only ever bands no one heard dissapoiting as theres lots of top bands on the friends list of the website Interpol, British Sea Power etc lets see more well known bands like them contribute something. Black Francis, Tanya Donnelly Yes bit the rest???
ReplyDeleteWhat? Only bands none ever heard, you must be joking.
ReplyDeleteThe Raveonettes covering Forest.. pretty cool, looking forward to hear that one.
Tribute albums totally bore me. All I can think the entire time I'm listening to one is, "I'd rather be listening to the original."
