Lol and Roger updates
From Lol: "Check out next months SPIN: I did a little chat with them- You may find out things you didn't know! Also a photo you may not have seen!"
From Roger: "I met @_DeanFord yesterday for a weird synthesizer thing at the ICA and he managed to coerce me into performing at his Synthetic night 3/23! As I havent got new music to promote I am going to create some over the next three weeks. It will be a 3 part homage to my major influences.... and of interest to tech nerds I will be performing it using @audanika sound prism, @moogmusicinc two moog voyagers & a moog theremin! I might also fire up my Axis harmonic table keyboard and my Elektron machine drum. The stage will resemble the keyboard dept of a music shop! Im going to regularly broadcast the trials and tribulations of creating this show on my channel."

Robert on new Japanese Popstars album
According to Beatsmedia, Robert Smith will be a guest on the new album from The Japanese Popstars. (Thanks Anna)
Update: The album is currently scheduled to be released on June 13th.
Update 2: More info on Robert's track, 'Take Forever', from Recordstore.co.uk - "Decky from the Japstars had the idea of enlisting The Cure’s Robert Smith for one of the rough edits. “We sent Robert an email and heard nothing for six months,” explains Decky. “Then randomly we got an email to say that it had gone into his spam folder.” Fortunately, Robert went onto the band's MySpace site, loved what he heard and said he wanted to work with the boys. The result is 'Take Forever', which, with its chiming guitar riff, low-slung bass and feint air of melancholia, is a quantum leap from anything that was on 'We Just Are'. It’s the sound of The Cure had they been born in 2006."

More rumors from Guadalajara
So more rumors out of Mexico. Now there's a venue and ticket pre-sale date for the rumored Guadalajara show:
Venue: Nuevo Estadio de las Chivas
(Update: Some confusion here, might actually be one of these venues, according to the editor of the newspaper - Estadio 3 de Marzo, Arena VFG, or Auditorio Telmex)
Presale: March 2011
Also, Jose called the editor of the newspaper and he claims that the show is confirmed and will happen. That's nice, and I hope he's right, but that means nothing right now.
Trying to get more info on this, and if we should trust it. Again, making it perfectly clear so no one gets pissed off at me later : ), this is only a rumor, and in no way confirmed by any official entity. Nothing is confirmed officially until you see it at the official site. Having said that, this show does make sense if Robert's hint about South America comes to be.
And here's another article running in the Mexican newspaper Mural. It says "Although it has been announced the names of stars Lady Gaga, Kylie Minogue, and Luis Miguel, in the calendar this year are already scheduled concerts Mötley Crüe, Shakira, Duran Duran, Ricky Martin, Ozzy Osbourne, Cindy Lauper and The Cure." (Thanks Jose)

Rumor: Cure at the Big Festival in France?
"The Cure is rumored to play at the "Big Festival" in Biarritz (France), in July." (Thanks Jerome)
I think it's probably safe to write this one off, as Robert has stated pretty clearly that "unless something remarkable happens, we will not be playing any other European shows!" Has something remarkable happened? We can all wish and hope, but again, as of today, if you want to see The Cure live in 2011, get to Bestival. If there's a change in that, you know I'll let you know just as soon as possible.

Rumor: Cure to play Guadalajara, Mexico?

This was posted yesterday in the Mexican newspaper "Mural". It says The Cure will play in Guadalajara, Mexico in 2011. Here's what Google translates it to: "Choose city - This 2011 looks to be another great year of concerts in GDL as The Cure, Cyndi Lauper and Motley Crue would be here." Obviously, this is not confirmed in any way, but it certainly is intriguing. Still, as of today, the only place you can see The Cure live in 2011 is at Bestival. (Thanks Jose)

Zombie Robert Smith
Drew decided to be a Zombie Robert for his town's zombie walk last Halloween. Naturally, I love this. : ) Next year, a group should do the creepy cobwebbed band members from the 'Lullaby' video. The Spiderman would work, too. : )
