The Cure tribute band, TheXplodingboys, will be playing Thursday, August 19th at Dante's in Portland, OR. They'll be playing all of 'Faith', plus lots of other songs.

Cure on Madness of the 80s

"Yesterday on French TV channel France 3 there was a program called "the madness of the 80's", a collection of the most memorable events in music/fashion/politics etc.. and they showed about 8 seconds of The Cure. First they were lying on a bed doing a kind of a capella version of Close to Me with Simon singing the bass line, Boris clapping his hands and Porl singing the keyboard part. Then they showed a few seconds of The Cure on stage with Bananarama."(Thanks Sylvain)

rogerodonnell - New album time... I am working on an album of piano exercises called "Piano Formations", hope to finish it for an October release. Each of the ten pieces will be matched to an ambient field recording of a space and have a video of clouds to accompany it, hence the name! Im also going to release the scores in a book with drawings of the ambient spaces...

Interpolnews on Twitter

I felt bad about forcing Cure fans to keep getting Interpol updates on my @CraigatCoF Twitter account, so I've created a new one just for Interpol stuff - @Interpolnews. So if you want Interpol news via Twitter, follow me there. The other account goes back to just Cure now, with only a few off topic posts every now and then. And if you missed it before, my Interpol blog is at Public Perversions. So until The Cure gets rolling again, and they WILL, so don't lose faith in them, that's what I'll be doing.

Disintegration Deluxe in Les Inrockuptibles

Here is a scan of a Disintegration review in French magazine "Les inrockuptibles" #763 (released July 14th 2010). I'm sorry I don't have time to translate this. This is a good review and they say that Disintegration is the last great Cure album. (Thanks Sylvain)

The Cure - That was then...This is now

"I've had a Cure documentary on VHS for the past 22 years (seriously). My older brother (who was a huge Cure fan) recorded it back in 1988. I've finally got a friend of mine to digitise it so i can get it on DVD and onto YouTube.

The documentary is called "That Was Then... This Is Now" and is part of a series of 30 minute rock documentaries." (Thanks Ed)
