  1. Don't think I have seen Reeves playing a Strat before........have I?

  2. It is a Fender, but it's a Fender VI, a six string bass. I think it's one of Robert's, he's lent it to Reeves to use live.

There's a nice piece by Reeves about it, here:

    1. Thanks Matt - interesting article by Reeves. Did Pearl use a Fender VI at the Concert in Orange in 1986 do you know. And have you any idea what Roberts guitar is tuned to for Shake Dog Shake?!

    2. It looks like Pearl is playing a white Fender VI for Push and Primary, but I'm not entirely sure. It certainly sounds like a baritone (and sounds great). The Cure in Orange is one of my favourite sounds of The Cure. Lots of bass flanger and great guitar sound for Robert.

The tuning for Shake Dog Shake is CGCGCD#

The Curse tribute band have tabs for SDS here:

    3. Thanks very much for the tuning info, sounds very good. I agree about the Orange era sound - its brilliant. I would have liked to have heard some more of Pornography with that set-up.
